Welcome to Revision, a collaborative and community timeline where the world has been revised into a different, alternate world. Many things are different in this timeline, politics, countries, history, cultures, religion and more.

We seek to find contributers to help us build Revision.

A summarized timeline with the Point of Divergances

• Somewhere between 30 BC-30s - Judea and Israel are still divided, being hostile to each other.
• 750 - The Umayyad Caliphate never collapse, but never gets to conquer the Sasanian Empire.
• 751 - The Merovingian dynasty managed to prevent infighting and kept the power equal between the Merovingians and the nobles, thus preventing its collapse.
• 1000s - Wales was never conquered by the Norman conquerers. Wales, Scotland, and Ireland would unite into the Celtic Union of Republics (Celtic Union).
  • As the Vikings landed in North America and established Vinland, the Celts landed in northern Argentina in OTL South America and established the New Celtic.
• 1100s-1300s - The Byzantine Empire manages to survive the turmoil and wars against its neighbours and it does not fall.
• 1532 - With the help of the Celts, the Inca Empire was never conquered by Spain and gained an exclave in OTL Argentina, which later became independent in the early 19th century.
• 1100s-1600s - The three tamil dynastys (Pandyas, the Cholas and the Cheras) never fell, and continue to exist in southern India, still trading spices with other countries.
• 1502 - Golden Horde never collapse, but rather becomes a protectorate of Russia and christianization of the country would occur. Although it would be annexed in the 18th century, it would become an independent country by 1983, and would become a major ally and a protectorate again of Russia in 1986.
• 1515 - Internal fighting for succession and threats from external enemies caused the Umayyad Caliphate to collapse into several states.
• 1610 - Following the death of Mahmud Keita IV, a successor would come, preventing the collapse of the Mali Empire, the empire would regain and extend its lands by the 18th century.
• 1620 - After the success of the Bohemian Uprising, Bohemia began to come under the influence of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
• 1789 - The British Revolution in this timeline replaces the French Revolution, resulting in the abolition of the monarchy in Britain and the formation of the British Republic. The Merovingian dynasty was influenced by the English Revolution and began to implement reforms, establishing a constitutional monarchy.
• 1792 - The King of England was exiled to Australia, leading to the creation of the Kingdom of Australia.
• 1793 - Napoleon never became a general, he became a famous writer instead.
• 1804-1815 - The Merovingian Empire and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth divided the Holy Roman Empire. Subsequently, the Kingdom of Saxony inherited part of the territory of the Holy Roman Empire.
• 1800s - Manifest destiny was limited compared to OTL as countries blocked the way to the Pacific. The United States would rather establish a hegemony over North America, and would buy some lands from countries.
• 1835 - The Texas Rebellion led to the independence of Arizona, New Mexico, and California.
• 1848 - Italian Unification never happens as the First Italian War of Independence never happens.
• 1851 - In 1851, the Taiping Rebellion won again as in OTL, and entered Tibet and Xinjiang, and the Northern Qing Dynasty became a Russian protectorate.
• 1857-1858 - The national uprising that swept across India eventually won, and Britain was forced to give up its colonization of India.
• 1867 - The Canadian Confederation does not unite Canada, it remains in its land as a dominion and later an independent country.
• 1881 - Russian Tsar Alexander II was never assassinated, leading to the establishment of a constitutional monarchy in Russia.
• 1868 - The Japanese Shogunate won the war and the Ezo Republic finally became independent from the rule of the Japanese shogunate.
• 1888 - The Brunei Sultanate never collapse, as they fixed succession and internal fighting problems.
• 1898 - After the Philippines gained independence, it officially became an independent country rather than a colony of the United States. Hawaii officially became part of the Russian Empire, and would become independent by the 1960s.
• 1904 - The Aceh Sultanate wins the Aceh War thanks to guerrilla warfare.
• 1910 - World War I breaks out.
• 1911 - In 1911, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom was replaced by the Republic of China.
• 1912 - The Korean Empire was replaced by the Republic of Korea.
• 1914 - Revolution breaks out in Russia, the Tsar is deposed, and the Russian Republic is established. The Tsar then went into exile in Alaska and established the Tsardom of Alaska.
• 1915 - The Sulu Sultanate does not fall due to colonial wars.
  • A revolution broke out in Poland, and it was officially replaced by the Polish Republic.
  • The Austrian Empire collapsed, Yugoslavia and Hungary were established, and Poland took advantage of Austria's collapse to conquer Slovakia.
• 1916 - The Russian Republic fell into civil war until 1918, which led to the division of Russia into the Russian Republic and the Siberian People's Republic, as well as Ukraine, Belarus, and the Baltic Union.
  • Poland intervened in the Russian Civil War, which culminated in the formation of the Intermarine Alliance.
  • Zhang Zuolin overthrew the Qing Dynasty in Northeast China and established the Manchuria Republic.
• 1917 - Hashemite Arabia formally unified the Arabian Peninsula.
• 1920 - A revolution broke out within the Byzantine Empire, and Syria and other places broke away from Byzantium and became independent.
• 1922-1929 - The monarchy in India was overthrown and India became a republic.
• 1933 - With Boris Savinkov coming to power in Russia, and Austria, Merovingia becoming fascist states, the Occidenta Union was established.
• 1937 - World War II broke out as the Russian National Republic began to attack Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltics.
• 1938 - Siberian People's Republic declares war on Russia.
• 1939 - Russia begins invasion of China‘s Xinjiang and Mongolia.
• 1941 - Russia and Manchuria begin attacking Korea, Pacific War begins.
  • The United States officially joins the Intermarium Legion, led by Britain, China, and the Siberian People's Republic, in declaring war on Merovingia.
  • Byzantium began to attack the Caucasus region and participated in World War II.
• 1944 - The Austrian Empire surrendered and the Danube Socialist Republic was established. Moscow, the capital of the Russian National Republic, fell, Russia surrendered, the Caucasian People Republic was established, and Russia would be annexed into the SSSR.
• 1945 - A nuclear strike on Merovingia resulted in Merovingia's surrender, ending World War II.
• 1946 - Myanmar abolishes monarchy and becomes a republic.
  • Byzantium became a socialist state after a civil war.
  • The Republic of Merovingia is formally established.
• 1947 - The Cold War between the European Union, the United States, and the Siberian Socialist Republic officially began.
• 1948 - After the Chinese Civil War, the KMT leftists and the Communist Party unified China, and the KMT rightists retreated to Manchuria.
• 1949 - As the SSSR became the nation that possessed the atomic bomb, a worldwide nuclear arms race began.
• 1952 - Although Egypt became a republic, Sudan did not become independent.
• 1955-1968 - After the collapse of the Vietnamese Empire, Vietnam fell into division, and was eventually unified by the republican Ho Chi Minh. This led to the countries in the Indochina Peninsula and Malaysia becoming socialist countries.
• 1965 - Indonesia's coup turns into civil war, socialists eventually unify Indonesia. East Timor and other places become independent.
• 1973 - The military coup in Chile never happened.
• 1979 - The war in Afghanistan was conducted the same way as in OTL. But it turned into a war between the Persian Empire and Afghanistan.
• 1980-1988 - Saddam's Arab Social Republic defeated the revolutionary Persian Empire.
• 1983 - The Cold War ended with the political reforms in Russia, which became a federation in the 1990s. The Poland and the Danubian Socialist Republic, the Byzantine People's Republic, Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia, and China became the only remaining socialist countries.
• 1991 - The Russian Federation disintegrated and the Cold War officially ended, except for the Baltic region which still adhered to socialism. In addition, the Caucasus republics are still adhering to socialism.
• 1992 - Yugoslavia still disintegrated like OTL.
• 1993 - The October events in the Russian Federation ended with Yeltsin's defeat and Rutskoi's victory.
• 2001 - Zoroastrians led by Osama bin Laden launched the 9/11 attacks, which led to his death in Afghanistan.
• 2003 - With Saddam's death, the Arab Republic began to reform.
• 2011 - The Syrian civil war is still happening just like in OTL.
  • There has never been an accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
• 2020 - The coronavirus is confined to East Asia, not the entire world.
• 2022 - The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues.
• 2023 - There was no discharge of nuclear waste water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
• 2024 - The confrontation between China and Manchuria begins.
