The 111th United States Congress was in session from January 3, 2009 to January 3, 2011. There were 100 Senators in the United States Senate and 505 Representatives in the United States House of Representatives.

It was the second and last Congress of Speaker Jeff Osgood's Speakership, and occurred in the first half of Jay Leno's second term as President of the United States. Leno would resign during this Congress, on June 3, 2010. The 111th Congress was the second in history to ratify a President's choice as Vice President under the terms of the __ Amendment, voting to confirm Mark Hamill as the __th Vice President of the United States unanimously in the Senate and 499-4 in the House.
