This was the bulk attack by one of the main french armies in where he said he would like alot of his supply and logistical train to go (as referenced in perpignan with a 25k cap and a large reserve force to occupy in the case of a victory.)

The French forces manage to breach the forward forts at Montepellier and the remaining Spanish forces retreat directly to Montepellier itself preparing to defend the city to the last. French force occupy the land between the forward forts and the city with no issue. The Spanish forces as well as the 2000 strong City Garrison prepare for the final onslaught while waiting for the relief army from the homeland.
