*'''Belkan Federation:''' The development along the Danube and Sava Rivers continues with more and more businesses and factories opening up. The expansion of agriculture also continuing has brought a new phenomena which was thought solved. Urbanization has increased as a result of the new jobs, and even more kids are being had by families within these cities, towns and communities which are developing factory jobs. This forces a new consideration by Vozdh Milosevic who stresses the importance of modernizing the new towns which are seeing factories open up. Vidin being the most dominant non modern city/town to see factories opened up sees a project undertaken to modernize the Sewage and water systems so as to prevent further disease and other issues. On top of this the townships near Belgrad, Vidin, Zagreb, and Ljubljana begin to expand. Trieste now becomming more and more focused as a major trade port become a primary port which belkan manufactured goods are exported. The development of the various coal fields around Belka has also created a large amount of new jobs which with the expansion of Agriculture and the ease of it now freeing up so much more working manpower, people continue to migrate with the massive coal fields near Sofiya, Belgrad and all over Oltenia beginning to open up and produce. While the coal is somewhat low quality, its massive quantity and ease of mining essentially causes it to become the default for many coal buyers. This coal is specifically picked up for use by many steel producers. This expansion of coal mining also extends to a mine in Slovenia which is lighly exploited due to lower population in the area. The Belkan economy begins to pick up significantly as the production of more and more goods begins allowing for record profits.

*'''United Kingdom of Great Britain:''' Harvey continues to hold his position while Washington blocks traffic along the river. Other than this little offensive efforts made. Tariffs remain high on imports keeping Arcadia currently as Britain's main import partner. To keep pushing up agricultural production more land is drained of water to access more farm lands. As part of mercantilism policies coal is taxed if sold abroad. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. James Watt's steam engine now powers an increasingly large number of coal mines pumping. Lionel Lukin patents a rescue lifeboat in Great Britain. Arcadian inventor Oliver Evans erects a fully automated flour mill capable of operating continuously through the pioneering use of bulk material handling devices including bucket elevators, conveyor belts, and Archimedean screws. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop to move coal from the mines and goods from the ships. The farmer's poll tax in Ireland and England is raised pushing more people into cities. England has 7.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 3.9 million people and Scotland 1.1 million. Criminals are deported to Arcadia. The navy has 50 ships in New London, Port au Prince and the remaining divided between Bristol and Portsmouth or with Admiral Harvey. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow.

*'''Belkan Federation:''' The Belkan Federation holds elections once again this year with Milosevic retaining his position as the Vozdh. He is elected on a platform of cooperation with Russia and some more concrete plans are put down to build more factories and invest into the technology in the future however with the mass settlements and other things going on throughout the country the idea is to let it all settle before building more factories. The ones that do exist have issues sorting out their workers as the many untrained people are having issues working in said factories. however the Abundant labor pool allows many to retain jobs if they are proficient enough. In order to stem the flight to the major core cities many are given waivers to immigrate to some of the underpopulated regions as issued by the Vozdh himself. in the last two years alone this program has resulted in almost 450,000 people being relocated throughout Belka beginning a demographic shift. While the big core cities remain vastly populated some other cities are notable on the rise. Visegrad now the capital of transylvania boasts a population of nearly 200,000 while cities like Zagreb and Ljubljana have also expanded significantly. The shining example of this policy working however is the explosion of Sarajevo. Going from 60,000 just a decade and a half ago to nearly 300,000 and becomming an economic powerhouse becomming one of the most attractive cities to live in in the entire country. Outside of this Tunis and Krete also see lots of expanding population and Tunis in General finally unveils its arsenal and naval yards being able to house many ships and support a massive force of almost 100,000 domestically. The Garrison as a reasult is increased to 50,000 and plans are made.

Another day, another throat ache. Have fun. SupremeSensualSamrāṭSky 22:01, September 1st, 2017 (UTC)

Zimmerman in Aztlan becomes Tolan's right hand man in the revolution. (Nateevent)

  • Empire of Uluru: Work is done to complete the implementation of medical and economic reforms from China. Agriculture is revolutionized among the Royal Lands directly owned by the monarch, creating an immediate imbalance between the economy of the royal court and the feudal lords. Medical technology from the foreigners completely inoculates the citizens from possible epidemics. The scholars and Dreamspeakers forms a syncretic theology between Confucianism and the Cult of Ngintaka, believing Lord Ngintaka gave the Mandate of Heaven down to Tjilbruke 350 years ago. To that end, Emperor Bambam deploys Dickadick to proceed annexing the feudal lords, utilizing the military technology of the British and Chinese in the form of muskets and cannons. Trade is maintained with Britain. Ambassadors continue to be welcomed from both Swahili and China in the court of Ngarrindjeri. Fascinated by the outsiders, the Emperor asks for information on their religions, as well as a printing press. He offers to provide more direct opportunities of colonization if associated nations would provide transportation technology, such as shipwrights, docks and sailing vessels. As the feudal lords are being annexed, one of them the called the Bakan of Jarrah draws closer to the Dutch and Malay who have colonies in his domain hoping to use them to maintain his sovereignty.
    • Papal Diplomacy: A ship from the Japanese Diocese of Nagasaki arrives in Uluru carrying Bishop Fransisco Bruno, who Pope Innocent IX, the leader of the great universal Church, has appointed Nuncio to the great court of Ngarrindjeri. Nuncio Bruno greets the great Emperor Bambam, and through an interpreter, expresses his desire to learn of Uluruan culture, and to teach the Uluruan court of the religion of a great part of the rest of the world. He brings with him a number of priests of this religion, who are schooled in both the faith and the natural sciences.
  • Scandinavia: Seeing the use of a Courland state he recognizes the Independence of Courland before offering an alliance and trading offer. (Courland response) More later.
    • Courland accepts the independence and trading offer, but holds off on any formal alliances until the election of 1785 (as the Curonian Charter requires parliamentary ratification of any alliances).
  • In the Principality of Courland, Prince Waldo Hölzer completes the siege of Ventspils with minimal bloodshed. He then marches down to Jurmala, where popular support had led to the city's revolt from Scandinavian rule. With practically all of Courland under the control of Prince Waldo, he issues the Curonian Charter, which documents the rights of the people and nobles as well as the structure of the Parliament. The first elections are scheduled for 1785, and for now Prince Waldo rules alongside Ludvigs Beck.
  • The Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: The National Congress creates as a form of union between the sejms "the Union of Sejms in The kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot" this will serve as a lower house of the "National Congress of the Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot". The National Congress also Begins to Lay claims to the Iberian regions of Baja and Sanora in the name of protecting the local natives with our common culture and languages. The "Forças armadas nacionais" and the "Forças armadas reais" cross the border over to Baja and to Sanora and begin occupying those land to protect the local from any barbarians and raiders since they can't defend their self in these times of crisis and chaos
  • Papal States: Three years after Pope Innocent IX requested it, the Church is finally able to organise a ship to sail from the Diocese of Nagasaki. Aboard is Bishop Francisco Bruno, a member of the Congregation for the Missions, who Pope Innocent has appointed Nuncio to Uluru. It is hoped that the expedition will yield good results. At home, the Parlamento makes rules relating to standardising the road toll system, weights and measures, and taxes throughout the States. The Parlamento creates a Committee for Standardisation, composed of experts, largely Immaculata scientists. In other news another lay woman is accepted to the University of Bologna, the first since the scandal involving Theresa Cornaro fifty years ago led to no laywomen being accepted into universities. She is taking a doctorate in science. The Immaculata Observatory continues its scientific work. Missions continue, particularly in the Zulu lands, which are promoted from mere mission territory to Apostolic Vicariate.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Ludwich reiterates his offer to the other ex-HRE states and works further on the constitution of the Rhineland League this year. He consolidates the main things that kept the HRE divided and vows to make them different in the Rhineland League. In addition to always receiving a vote in the nationwide Council, each Member State is to receive a certain degree of independence but be generally required to adhere to any acts decided upon by the Council. This includes coming to the aid of the Rhineland League in wars, with a small percentage of all adult men to be conscripted in emergency situations where the very existence of the Rhineland League is at risk. He also establishes the heart of the Rhenish Court of Justice in one of the biggest universities in Berg, emphasizing to the people that there should be a separation between the government and those who keep the government accountable. This Court establishes a very large library using the resources of the University of Cologne (and the entire network of the Adelphinian Order) and many young Rhenish people begin to study to eventually join the Justice System. Archbishop Ludwich also makes sure, at Abbess Marie’s request, that every Member State has a fully-functioning Order of St Adelphina for young women seeking future betterment for their nation.
    • Essen: Abbess Marie hears of His Holiness’s new connection with the Uluruan people and offers to send an advisor from the Adelphinian Order to the Uluruan Nuncio. She refers to the good work the Adelphinian Canonesses have managed to do through peaceful measures and the integration of local customs with the Catholic teachings, particularly with respect to education, and says that the Canonesses are more than willing to assist. Meanwhile, Aleksander Zimmerman is chuffed (quietly, because he’s too proud to admit it outright) that Tolan chose him as his right hand man, and allows himself to get more invested in the Aztlan revolution. He becomes an instrumental organiser, and (perversely) looks forward to the first battle he will actually be involved in. The ideals in Aztlan are strong, and they excite Zimmerman immensely. He keeps up his letters to Jean Lopez, but this year he meets a trio of women known colloquially as the “Essen Sisters” – some canonesses who have not remained as loyal to the Adelphinian Order and instead become more interested in the Aztlan revolution. The Essen Sisters – Angelika, Elena and Romy – are intelligent and witty, clearly educated very well, and Zimmerman takes an interest in them. One look into Elena’s eyes and she’s helpless; on the other hand, he fears that Angelika may never be satisfied. By the end of the year, he and Elena are happily married (canonesses don’t take vows of chastity), but still he has to return to the war. Meanwhile, coal continues to be traded in Essen and the Tagalog canonesses in Tondo begin to pay close attention to what is going on, given that they have finally recovered from the hurricane.
  • Malaya: With the ascension of King Azula, a change of mindset within the nation has occurred as well. Following the Conference of Nangang, Malaya wishes to extend relations with Japan, and engage in cultural exchange. [Japanese Response Needed] Roads are repaved in North Borneo, while new ones are in the process of being built towards the south.
    • Japanese Dip: We accept the Malayan request to extend relations with us and agree to engage in cultural exchange. We send emissaries and trade ships to open up trade routes and help Malaya learn about Japanese culture. We hold a celebration for the ascension of King Azula, and urge him to throw off Burgundian control of his realm, for it is holding Malaya back from its true greatness.
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. The army continues convincing contracted servants. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increase as medicine and weaponry becomes more widespread. A scholar-farmer in Malindi continues testing selective breeding. Islamic reactionary forces begin organizing against what they see as heretical influences from the West. An emissary to the Uluru is sent with a printing press, along with copies of a new translation of the Swahili Quran. This move is seen as the last straw by religious reactionaries, who begin to assemble militias, particularly in Somalia and Qamar.
    • Lakshadweep: The island of Lakshadweep continues development.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues the construction of a port.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats.
    • Rowzi: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats.
  • Borneo: News of Aztlan and Argentina (I believe?) secession reaches the islands. A group named Anak-anak Srivijaya rises up spreading anti-French propaganda among the people. In the capital, Brunei Dar Es Salaam riots break out targeting French soldiers, they are relatively easy to put down but casualties occur with seven dead. The rajah Tenuk, being a rather weak leader, reacts very badly by summoning more French troops to the capital which seems to only fan the flames of the people anger.
    • Japanese Secret Diplomacy: We begin to fund and support the Borneo Independence Movement against French rule in the guise of an official trade mission to the capital, Brunei Dar Es Salaam. We send in military organizers, advisers, and traders, smuggling in guns and ammo as well as food for supplies. We urge Borneo to fight for their independence immediately, the era of the French is over, the era of the Borneans is now!
  • Pontus:  The country continues to modernize and the missionaries of the Armenian Apostolic Church travel with Russian help toward the Russian Arcadian colonies. One of the missionary groups boards a ship on the Russian Far East port and travels to China to talk about missionary work in China. (Candies RESPONSE). A new merchant fleet is constructed in Trebizond.
  • Ququququ: The Koito reform continues and as the Ququququ nation is finally stable enough, the outlying tribes are contacted in order to induce them into the Union. (basically, slow map expansion, approved by Feud). The Japanese contact continues, and Ququququ continue adopting children born of interracial relations in the Jin port, in order to avoid the infanticide. With a solidified rule the Ququququ are now a most formidable force in the region, with infrastructural advancement putting them on a higher level than any other tribes, as well as their linguistic unity. Moreover, the Ququququ slowly organize their military and begin creating better weapons compared to their non-organized neighbours, using metals such as iron, with guidance of the Nangang emissaries. As the nation is much more stable right now, the Ququququ begin outreaching to more tribes, preparing their next step of expansion as the Council notices the Japanese and Jin superiority compared to Ququququ, so they understand that they, too, must expand in order to develop. The Ququququ council, following the Treaty of Bosavi decides it is high time to expand and solidify its status as the primary ruler of the Papuan island.
    • Japanese Dip: We send several high class government administrators, experts in statecraft, to assist Ququququ's centralization efforts, helping them form an effective central government by introducing taxation to the emerging nation state.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: The situation in Iberian Laurentia and Arcadia is very interesting but the British keep clear of it for now unsure what to make of it. James Cook sets out on his second voyage carrying 200 muskets and appropriate amounts of powder and munitions and sets sail for Australia to trade his items for strange new stuff. Lactose is identified as a sugar by Carl Wilhelm Scheele. Dr John Aikin publishes his Biographical Memoirs of Medicine in Great Britain, the first English language historical dictionary of physicians. Thomas Earnshaw devises the spring detent escapement for marine chronometers. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop. The poll tax used in England is introduced to Ireland at a lower rate. England has 7.2 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.6 million, Ireland has 3.5 million people and Scotland 1.1 million. The British army has 3000 in Portsmouth, 3000 in Aldershot, 2000 in Scotland, 3000 in Ireland while 2000 in Arcadia, 2000 in Casablanca, 1000 in English Maiam, 1000 in Haiti as well as 500 in St George, St Helena, New Canterbury and Bay of Kost. Criminals are deported to Arcadia.
    • British Arcadia: With new land opportunities opening up leading to settlers being willing to move from Europe and claim land and a continuing rise in the wages of British people leading to higher demand for Arcadian cash crops leads to more people moving out west. Colonists expand 50 px up the Mander (Tennessee) creating farms, ranches and some fishermen on the western banks. In addition the Northwest territory is established with claims staked out in OTL Pennsylvania and more immigrants establishing farms creating a clear border. Foodstuffs are exported to Britain for cheap prices due to lower land and wage costs.
  • Russia: Novoruthenia is expanded north. Continued settlement of the Pyotr Archipelago gives way to the term "Island Towns" to describe the little villages set up. Polish emigration to Siberia and Alaska continues to stay minor. We take it as an insult and an act of aggression by the Tlingut peoples after they kill an Orthodox priest in a village called Jasha (OTL Juneau, Alaska). Word about Atlzan reaches Cinigrad and later Gorod Vostok. The local governments begin to send weapons to Atzlan through small ships to make their way past Iberian privateers. With Iberian colonies in chaos and more settlement in Saint Abraham, Russia claims area all the way down to OTL Oregon California border. Another armaments foundry is opened in Cinigrad as the city's population is 3000.
  • Iberia: In early 1780, Southern Arcadia is engulfed in civil war. About 15,000 Iberian "Royalist" forces are left scattered throughout the continent. With their reserves depleted during the winter of 1779-80, the royalists find themselves vastly outnumbered by various rebel groups, the largest of which being the Aztlan separatists. Other factions vying for control of Southern Arcadia include the Maian royalists, rallying over 28,000 troops led by a Mayan pretender who seeks to restore the Maian monarchy; the Mayan and Mexican traditionalists with uncountable irregulars; the Guatemalan separatists with about 6000 troops, seeking to form an independent state on the legal basis of the Kingdom of Guatemala; and smaller revolts in the north. Despite outnumbering the Iberian royalists, the rebels have, in fact, been losing ground, due to disorganization and infighting. In late summer, however, the tide turns again. Many of the other rebels join with Tolan's armies to resist colonial rule, and the movement gains momentum. Several battles are fought in central Maiam, forcing the Iberians on a retreat to the northwest. On September 2nd, the massed armies of Aztlan and their rebel allies march on Mexico City: the last major stronghold of the royalists and one of the two capitals of Maiam. All of this culminates in a decisive battle at Azcapotzalco, near Mexico City. The Iberian royalists are soundly defeated, representing a final blow to the colonial government. In a last-ditch attempt to secure the colonies of Southern Arcadia, Iberia sends all available fleets to blockade the coast of Aztlan and deny them naval power. This proves successful in its short-term goal, but only delays the inevitable. By the end of the year, the rebels (Aztlani or otherwise) control all of Southern Arcadia. The revolution against Iberia is effectively over. The northern viceroyalties, kingdoms, and colonies (including Nova Astúrias and Nova Galiza) become dependent on Aztlan, while the scattered missions of the Califórnias and Sonora reluctantly accept Mzerkan rule under threat of force. Mêcicipi, Texas, and the Henriqia Territory remain part of the Iberian Empire.

1781

Another day, another word. SupremeSensualSamrāṭSky 22:05, September 2nd, 2017 (UTC)

The volcano on Mount Rainier erupts, causing damage to the surrounding lands, including the Salish nation, as well as minor damage to Mzerka, mostly in form of smoke. This also causes a shift in the climate in the region, and harsher winters are to be expected. (Requested by Falcon, approved by Sky and Nate)

An epidemic skin disease, known by the natives as Black Fever spreads to the settlements of Malaya, Burgundy, China and Japan as they attempt to colonize Anangeia/Shengdia

After crushing the royalist forces at the siege of Atzacoalco, The Congress of Hundred begins consolidating their government, requesting to negotiate the end of militarization with Mzerka. At the same time, the Congress orders Tolan to organize further invasions south and north, in an attempt to seize the Isthmus of Panama as well as push the front into Texas. Request is asked to Britain for assistance in this endeavor.

  • Empire of Uluru: In the first part of the year, Emperor Bambam continues the policies of centralization and reformation based on the technology of China and Britain. Confucianism continues to be adopted in the government and institutions, establishing Ngintaka's Mandate of Heaven passed by the Dreamspeakers from the First Ones. As many feudal lords are annexed, their lands are replaced with local magistrates directly controlled by the monarch. Agricultural reforms and infrastructure revolutionizes the nation, as the population reaches nine million this year. Medical technology continues to inoculate from disease. The printing press from Swahili is immediately used to mass produce books brought from other worlds, and all the scholars and upper class are taught languages in Hangul, Latin and Arabic to understand these books. In June, Bambam dies, and his son Daku succeeds him. Emperor Daku is fascinated by both the Islamic religion of Swahili, and the Christian religion of Europe. Daku realizes that, having been properly educated about the state of the world and Uluru's position in it, that it is impossible for the nation to stand on its own in the face of these larger powers. The former gods of the First Ones and Lord Ngintaka himself is too weak to match the gods of Islam and Christianity. Therefore, he must investigate how to properly ensure Uluru's continued safety in the future. To this end, Emperor Daku and General Dickadick invites the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Sultante of Swahili, and the Jin Dynasty of China to the Council of Ngarrindjeri to decide the ultimate fate of the Uluru nation and its people.
    • Papal Dip: The Papal Nuncio, Bishop Fransisco Bruno, who arrived in Uluru last year, asks the new Emperor for permissions for his priests to teach the Christian religion to the Court and the general population. The priests also offer to set up small hospitals using European scientific medicine.
  • Jin dynasty: With black fever arriving in colonial settlements, many colonists blame purposeful transmission by hostile natives. Physicians begin an autopsy of victims, and conclude that it is a parasitic infection inducing the swelling of the liver. To combat outbreaks, facilities promoting sanitation and hygiene (such as latrines, bathhouses) are built in the colony. Despite the efforts, some colonists begin to conduct their own biological warfare, with bands of vigilantes catapulting bodies infected with smallpox to native settlements. The colonial government begins a crackdown on these vigilantes, not wanting a conflict with the Uluruns. Tiwei grows to about a thousand settlers, and about five hundred seasonal military personnel. In Korea, Eastern-rite Church continues to fall in popularity, as Catholicism and the Church of the East continues to gain followers. Confucianism is established as the state religion, and people are encouraged to convert into Confucianism. Suolong and Nangang both expand. To keep up with the increasing material demands of the colony, restrictions against fire-fallow cultivation is abolished, and land is freely given to peasants, which also provides an incentive for settlement from China. This leads to rapid deforestation of the forest, with found native settlements and tribes having the choice of being converted under Confucianism and maintaining their independence as an autonomous municipality, or being forcibly expelled and forced upland. In an effort to eradicate the local culture, miscegenation is highly encouraged between the settlers and the "civilized" Confucianized natives. The policy of militarization continues to be pursued, with shipyards, arsenals, and industrial facilities dedicated to producing armaments and other military-related objects being built. Basic sanitation continues to be promoted: public bathhouses, spas, latrines, and sewage systems are all built. Adequate irrigation alongside other projections such as mass distribution of pluviometres and water gauges create an increase in the productivity of agriculture. In addition, agriculturalists begin promoting the usage of compost (made from excess/leftover vegetable matter) to further boost productivity and yield. To facilitate transportation and growing mercantile activities, paved roads are built. Commercialization and the division of labour continues, resulting from a heightened demand for commercial goods from both the domestic and foreign market.
    • Nivkh Commandery: Tiger Pastries Inc., a subsidiary of Lady Lin Tea, continues to flourish as a business. The Nivkh Prince-Governor (which is the member of the Nivkh Ayzik branch of the House of Kim) continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively.
    • Sakha (protectorate): The Khan continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively. Siberian crab-apples become a local renowned fruit, and is particularly prized in Korea and northern China.
    • Xizang (protectorate): Lhasa, the capital, is expanded and modernized. The Tibetan clergy continues to administer the protectorate, with its leader, the Dalai Lama, being considered a vassal or substitute monarch. Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing over reliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from the Baikal Lake.
  • Malaya: The Anangeia Expeditions are put on hold, while the sick will either seek treatment in the Uluru Empire or return to Malaya. An experimental craft is created in Malacca, designed to dive underwater. It is released within an empty port and allowed to submerge to the bottom. The Bruneian declaration of independence is an interesting development, and as our Burgundian overlords don't play nice with France, we support the declaration of their independence from France. Irrigation into central Borneo begins.
  • The Kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot: The National Congress creates the Sejm of San Diego, La Paz, Monterrey and many more sejms in the former Iberia lands of Baja and Sonora. The union of Sejms believes that Baja due to its low population should not have many sjems but rather a few ones with a big area and the population of the Mzerkan Sjems. The National Congress appoints Antonio Zimmermann as ambassador to the Aztlan Federation and he requests that the Leader of their federation should Meet king Philipe Augusthino Diltwa II as a sign of friendship between the two nations and to discuss Oor future. (Mod response). The "Forças armadas reais" also places the Royal flag of Mzerka the "bandeira de cristo" on the town hall of San Diego,This is so that the Iberians and other locals know that they are now back into safety protect by the "Forças armadas reais". They mostly just defend occupied lands, keep order, punish criminals and give aid to the people. The "Forças armadas nacionais" find an Iberian printer for the first time and after some discussion and permission asking, they print a copy of the first Bible to ever arrive in the at that time Tribe of Sinkyone. This advancement is seen by the National Congress and they see the great potential in these printers and they promote people to make more Printers and print great literature for the Mzerkan spirit. The king, hearing of people with new ideas of state and religion, begins to allow these so long as they don't become just rude insults to God, king and country.
The new mosque in Dar Es Salaam is finished, with a large painting of Muhammed being visited by Gabriel. Some new Islam missionaries visits Somalia and is murdered by reactionary forces. The Sultan sends a police force to capture the perpetrator.
    • Lakshadweep: The island of Lakshadweep continues development.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats.
    • Rowzi: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats.
  • Salish Nation: Our nation is devastated. The mountain belched fire and smoke, destroying our crops. Some of our people suggest that this was due to us straying from the ways of the gods, renewing interest in them. Horsemen begin raiding east of the mountains, gathering food from the lands of Walla Walla, and we request Mzerka send aid in the wake of this disaster. Many of our people in our northern settlement go to live with the Russians. Tacoma (OTL Astoria) is less devastated, and the administration is temporarily moves there. To protect against other tribes stealing our food, walls are constructed around our major settlements.
  • Borneo: With Japanese help the influence of the Anak-anak srivijaya grows, due to now dubbed "massacre at Brunei"  presence of French soldiers only further spreads the sentiment. The rajah fearful of these dissidents begins to alienate many of his native Borneans commanders in favor of French commanders. An incident occurs where spices are burned in protest, the rajah in response places heavy taxes on oil paper and matches.
  • Papal States: There is a significant flurry of activity in the Immaculata Observatory this year as Father Guglielmo Herselli announces he believes he has discovered a seventh planet. His superior at the observatory is able to independently verify the observations. Father Herselli then publishes his findings. He is yet to decide on a name for the new planet, although there are no end of suggestions from others: Innocentium Sidus (Innocent's Star, after the Pope), Ignatius (after Saint Ignazio d'Iasso, the founder of the Imaculata), Immaculata (after both the order and the Blessed Virgin's Immaculate Conception), or Janus (after the Roman god). Pope Innocent congratulates Fr Herselli on the discovery. In more worldly matters, the Pope, on the advice of the Parlamento, officially integrates the occupied portions of Italy into the States. They are given their own representation (of towns, nobility, gentry, peasants, clergy, guilds, merchants) in the Parlamento. Missions continue.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: With the Congress of the Hundred having requested the British aid in their war for independence for Iberia and having gained significant ground. The British agree to support the Congress of the Hundred and a task force commanded by Admiral Harvey is dispatched from London consisting of 50 ships, 7000 soldiers and marines. The task force heads for Texas and Harvey lands at OTL Houston attacking the settlement. 5000 Americans led by Alexander Washington lead an overland expedition going from the Mander River to the Iberian settlement at OTL Memphis. Tolan is encouraged to launch an invasion of Texas while a Lieutenant General James Mattis an experienced officer is sent to temporarily aid the rebel forces by training and advising them. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. Archibald Cochrane, 9th Earl of Dundonald is granted a British patent for the manufacture of coal tar. William Herschel observes Uranus (although initially recording it as a comet). The canal system is expanded as new cities develop. England has 7.2 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.6 million, Ireland has 3.5 million people and Scotland 1.1 million. The British army has 3000 in Portsmouth, 3000 in Aldershot, 2000 in Scotland, 3000 in Ireland while 2000 in Arcadia, 2000 in Casablanca, 1000 in English Maiam, 3000 in Haiti as well as 500 in St George, St Helena, New Canterbury and Bay of Kost. Criminals are deported to Arcadia. The navy has 50 ships in New London, Port au Prince and the remaining divided between Bristol and Portsmouth or with Admiral Harvey.
    • British Arcadia: As violence breaks out in the colonies the militia are drafted to fight and defend the country, most Arcadian's are not unhappy about the fighting since it is benefiting them by possibly gaining more land. The harsher winter this year is frustrating but one must endure.
  • Ququququ:The Koito reform continues and as the Ququququ nation is finally stable enough, the outlying tribes are contacted in order to induce them into the Union. As the nation is much more stable right now, the Ququququ begin outreaching to more tribes, preparing their next step of expansion as the Council notices the Japanese and Jin superiority compared to Ququququ, so they understand that they too must expand in order to develop. The Ququququ council, following the Treaty of Bosavi decides it is high time to expand and solidify its status as the primary ruler of the Papuan island.
  • Empire of Japan: The year continues to be dominated by diplomacy, much to the neglect of domestic policy, which has been resigned to interior ministers for the time being. Emperor Yashimaru and the Shogun are ecstatic with the revolutionary fervor of Borneo, and add fuel to the fire of Borneo's Independence movement and we prepare for war against the French Empire, readying the full capability of the Imperial Japanese Navy into Indonesia. The attempts for Malaya to throw off Burgundian influence, however, has failed, much to the disappointment of the government, and interest in them wanes though we thank them for supporting Borneo's independence movement and our attention shifts to Borneo. We are furious that Uluru did not invite us to the Council of Ngarrindjeri but we are thankful that the Jin Dynasty spoke on our behalf and we shall attend the Council next year. Doctors and Medicine experts are sent to the Shengdia colony in order to attend to the sick and find a cure to the Black Fever.
  • Hawaii: Settlement and colonization continues, across our territories in the Pacific. Consolidation or conquest of the Polynesian islands by the Hawaiian client states continues. After brief encounters with the people of the south via trade with the Angu-Zia Union and other nations in the region, as well as the circulation of rumors and stories brought to Hawaii, primarily by European and Asian traders, the king sends a small group of ships from Angu-Zia to the south to possibly make contact with this group directly. The group encounters some regions that they believe correlate to the continent that Veron had mentioned years earlier, although having not encountered any groups of note the continue back to Hawaii.

Another day, another fishcake. SupremeSensualSamrāṭSky 22:05, September 3rd, 2017 (UTC)

The Dalton Minimum begins affecting the climate and so the next 40 years will be colder.

Connected to the Dalton Minimum, the Mount Rainier eruption will, combined with the Minimum, cause even harsher winters in the region. The Thames River routinely freezes solid, and ice caps appear in British Arcadia as well as the Volga during these months.

In light of Britain's pledge of support, Tolan abandons the southward campaign to focus on invading Texas.

  • Empire of Uluru: The Emperor Daku begins a program for mass education of the upper and middle classes in reading foreign alphabets, primarily Hangul, Arabic and Latin scripts. The wealthiest of scholars at the Library of Ngarrindjeri are educated in the various books on Confucianism, Islam and Catholicism brought into the nation. Meanwhile, the combined technology from Britain and China are utilized to further centralize the nations, continuing to annex the nobles with guns and steel in order to place magestrates over their rule. A chronicle of Uluru, including the Mandate of Heaven given to Tjilbruke by Lord Ngintaka, is written this year in Hangul script. Catholic hospitals are accepted in the nation. The Council of Ngarrindjeri Continues with Britain, China, and Swahili. In this year, many of the other sons of Yannathan from his varoius concubines begin gathering together into a larger conspiracy, hoping to use the defunct nobility to overthrow the Emperor.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: We request that Japan be invited to the Council of Ngarrindjeri, given the Chinese request and that we have colonial interests in the region.
  • Pueblo Confederacy: We invade the Camanche territory (mod response) (I don't know how to do the Algorithm). Our forces consist of 3000 regular warriors, 1000 Navajo riders and archers, 500 armoured horse warriors, 200 Pueblo riflemen, as well as the 300 strong Iberian support army. We aim to penetrate their heartland and conquer one-third of what they consider their raiding ground (OTL Abilene). Our population has grown to 905,000. Further missions are established in the Navajo territory. Many Iberian loyalist flee to our territory. We send diplomats to the new governments of The Council of a Hundred asking for an alliance (Response). We also ask to join the Arcadian Congress.
    • Mzerkan Diplomacy: Our congress deeply disapproves of these wars and we think that Arcadian and Aztec states should not be warring at the moment but united together.
    • Pueblo Diplomacy: We are not warring with any Aztec, we are only fighting our ancestral antagonists the Comanche who raid us.
    • The Iberian troops are no longer fighting with you due to the independence of Aztlan. -General
  • Papal States: Rome, winter. Pope Innocent IX kneels at his predieu. He shivers. "Brrr," he says, the air condensing with his breath, "it sure is colder." After the Pope has some discussions with the Prefect for the Missions, the latter writes a memorandum for the Congregation for Missions, advising that the areas which will require the most missionaries from Europe within the coming decades will be the Zulu Apostolic Vicariate (including the Southern Africa Mission), the newly-established Uluru Mission, and Western Arcadia (Mzerka, Pueblo and surrounding region). Given the advancement of the Church in Japan, Korea and China, the local seminaries should be able to sustain the diocesan structures without too much additional external assistance from European missionaries. A similar situation exists in Eastern Arcadia, and Laurentia. The memorandum is significant insofar as it recognises the - at least partial- success of the drive to establish local clergy in mission territories. A ship of missionaries carrying both religious and scientific texts is sent to Uluru. Back at home, the integration of the formerly Italian territories continues. In scientific news, Father Herselli officially names the seventh planet Ignatius. Missions continue.
  • The Kingdom of Califórnia: After the king allowed the enlightenment in our nation he renames our Kingdom from The kingdom of Mzerka and Wiyot to the Kingdom of Califórnia. This name came to have a country not named after old tribal and ethnic names but after the geographic features of our lands our people call home. The "Forças armadas nacionais" while keep aiding and training the Aztlan forces begin to go to the east border to defend our lands and the comanche right to exist as a nation and that they should exist with the Pueblo. Our Congress asks the Comanche for an alliance with them. (Mod response). Our National Congress also begins talking about that they belive that Aztlan should compensate our nation with land and goods for our help in their war of independence. The National Congress also begins printing more texts with their Iberian printers the things printed are mostly legal documents that are falling into decay and need replacement.
  • Iberia: The blockade of Aztlan continues. 9000 troops are brought by sea to Iberian Arcadia to defend the colonies against Britain and Aztlan. Texas remains firmly on the Iberian side, not wishing to become part of the Aztlan Federation. 500 militia are raised at Santa Isabel (OTL San Antonio), while other forces mount a defense of the Santa Isabel River. In response to British incursions on the Mississippi, Mêcicipi makes an effort to fortify and settle the river, building forts at OTL West Memphis (opposite the British settlement) and Wickliffe. Fur traders and missionaries establish settlements at OTL Cape Girardeau; Columbus, Kentucky; Alton, Illinois; and Dubuque, Iowa. Panama City is fortified and garrisoned with 1000 troops. The Nootka settlement is abandoned following the collapse of the Iberian Empire in Arcadia, but most claims to the Pacific Northwest are transferred to Mzerka and Nova Galiza. Nova Lusitânia expands into its claimed border with Guyana. Maranhão expands along the Rio Branco.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate: Persian officially becomes a second language of Arabia. Literature and art from Tehran is moved into Baghdad.
  • Belkan Federation: After years of light cultural development and settlement in new regions reaching roughly about a decade of the new settlement, the Vozdh retires as the new election is held and dozens of political parties take part. The Conservative Slavocist Party and Isolationist Kamrovite Party take the lead with the Belkan "Restorationists" (monarchists) and the more nationalist All-Belka Party taking secondary positions. However, in a twist none of the parties take a majority and a coalition government is formed as a compromise. The first time a coalition government being in power a level headed Vozdh is also elected from the Slavocists. His name is Vladislav Milosevic and immediately he claims much popularity as he proposes legislation to change immigration laws allowing outside immigration once again. However, to offset potential immigration overseas, he allows a 15 year tax free period where people can go to the frontiers of the Belkan nation and take ownership of plots of land and develop them as well as gain a government stipend every year for the funding and development of these lands. The combination of the free-immigration act, the Frontier Settlement act, and the Frontier Taxation act leaves a huge amount of territory open and free to settlement of Belkan peoples. The option, however, is only open to Belkan citizens. Generally this leads to an unprecedented migration. The overcrowded core cities and core regions boasting nearly 65% of Belka's entire population between just three of the provinces sees an exodus. The government bereaucracy is flooded with requests and claims staked to plots of land. Visegrad and Chisnograd in Transylvania and Moldavia both see the lands fill extremely quickly. Tens of thousands of people flood the territories for settlement and Transylvania already experiencing a boom from the expansive mining and lumber industries sees a massive uptick in farming capacity too. The innovation of various proto-industries also begins to take place as the large amounts of coal in proximity to various major Belkan cities in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Vlach sees their worth expand. Another large group of settlers also settles on either side of the Aliakmon River responding to reports of coal deposits and easy jobs. The government in Belgrad rather than paying directly out of treasury for these acts takes out multiple loans having rebuilt the nations credit in the last few decades. These loans are used in their payout on the territory and it's expected the payout on the taxes of the newly settled regions will far outpace the loan expenses. Some of the older settlement opportunities are already reporting record profits which gives the Duma insight into future wealth coming out of these regions. It's estimated in the last three years alone almost 650,000 Belkans from Serbia, Bulgaria, and Vlach have settled in the sparsely populated regions of the country. Sarajevo reportedly sees its population double from 60,000 to almost 120,000 in just the last few years and its formerly empty territories outside the city throughout Bosnia have taken on a huge amount of new people. In the Duma the legislation to push for expanding into a Belkan colonial empire takes shape as Tunis begins to be developed into a massive military base and storehouse permanently housing 30 ships from the navy and now nearly 25,000 troops. Tunis in particular has also seen a decent amount of immigrant influx as opportunists take up residence and begin establishing a surprisingly large Belkan ethnic population of almost 15,000 in the City. Professional projections of Belkas growth put its population to Crest 20 million soon and with the population boom expected from the newly settled frontier regions the Population is expected to explode and bypass Russia in the next few decades having much less distance to cover compared to the Russians in terms of land for settlement and development.
  • Ququququ:The Koito reform continues and as the Ququququ nation is finally stable enough, the outlying tribes are contacted in order to induce them into the Union.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: Having taken the anchorage and settlement at OTL Houston, Harvey Maintains position while Alexander Washington also maintains his position on the Mississippi blocking traffic going up and down while Tolan is expected to continue his advance into Texas with this progress having been made. A delivery of muskets and cannons is made to the Aztlan forces invading Texas while James Mattis continues to assist. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop.
    • British Arcadia: As violence breaks out in the colonies the militia is drafted to fight and defend the country, most Arcadians are not unhappy about the fighting since it is benefiting them by possibly gaining more land. The harsher winter this year is frustrating but one must endure.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: New Germany and Guyana continue their settlement of their claimed territory. Patagonië expands 50 px. In light of the violence in Arcadia, Iberia is offered assistance in combatting the Aztlan invading texas. King Rogier declares open season on Aztlan shipping, and several cruising squadrons are stationed in Kuba and New Germany to combat the Aztlan at sea.
  • Hawaii: Settlement and colonization in the southern islands continues, particularly in the Marshall Islands, and in Polynesia, where Hawaiian-backed client states continue to expand. (Note: I have been planning on doing the following eventually, and considerably slower, but since I saw in Uluru's turn their entire nation is suddenly inoculated, I believe I can do something similar.) The king, taking note of the rising number of deaths from disease, searches for a solution to the problem. Inoculatation techniques learned from the nation's French allies and European missionaries proves to be successful in slowing the spread of disease, and as such the king orders all citizens of the kingdom to receive the treatement, undergoing the treatment himself in public along with his family. Explorations to the far south continue from our outposts near Angu-Zia, in an attempt to make formal contact with the empire supposedly inhabiting the southern continent.
  • Empire of Japan: Seeing no response from either Borneo's Independence Movement or retaliation from the French Colonial Empire naval build up is slowed down as to not ignite any unnecessary and premature conflicts that emerge from a rapid naval buildup, thus we wait in the silence of the year, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. In order to quell domestic unrest we turn our attention to domestic policy this year, mainly by improving our infrastructure. The mission in Ququququ continues as we keep on spurring their development and continue to colonize the Sake colony in Shengdi, directly below Ququququ. Expansion and war plans are also made in the shadows. Emperor Yashimaru goes in the sakura fields and Mt. Fujiama to be at peace and clear his mind, hoping to find enlightenment.
    • Anak-Anak Srivijaya: The dissidents secretly respond telling Japan to send an ambassador in disguise in order for communication
  • Borneo: The taxes placed on the people seem to only encourage the Anak-Anak Srivijaya groups activity. Propaganda depicting the rajah as a puppet of despicable foreigners continues. The support of the Anak-Anak Srivijaya group spreads through the countryside.
  • Russia: Novoruthenia expands inland. With the extra ordinary colder temperatures across the country, more people move into Mongolia, the Khanate, Yakutia, and south from Alyeska to Saint Abraham as the population booms to 1100 people with the winter migration. The Tlingit War continues to rage only slowing down to tiny three-man raids on native camps during the cold winter. Some groups of soldiers do to lengths of walking across the ice in coves to attack native camps stealing food and firewood. Savinkov, started to get into the last years of his life, begins to set up Prince Konstantin as the next leader. For Konstantin himself, he visits Hungary, to study their government. On the way there, he meets a man named Vladimir Pushkin, an Okrahana agent, and takes him to Hungary as a body guard. Pushkin is very interested in politics, and it's a member of the fringe conservative All Russia Party.

Another day, another dickadick. SupremeSensualSamrāṭSky 22:02, September 4th, 2017 (UTC)

Rome and New Amsterdam are greeted with a snowy morning in the month of June. One could say that Rome and New Amsterdam are influenced by the cool times.

Comanches ally with Mzerka California.

  • Empire of Uluru: Mass education continues across the nation. Infrastructure and economic along with agricultural reforms continue, which allows the population to increase in more prosperity. Guns and other weapons are utilized to make the annexation of feudal lands much faster, as well as enforcing the empire's claim on the Inner Desert around the White Chapel. The chronicle of Uluru continues. The Council of Ngarrindjeri continues. A general revolt occurs by the remaining feudal lords, led by the Bakan of Jarrah (OTL Kimberly Land), against the rule of Daku. They accuse the emperor of being the weakest of Yannathan's sons, having allowed influences from the outsiders corrupt the balance of the universe. There are even some Dreamspeakers who join with their side, preaching blasphemy against the Emperor. Daku orders Dickadick to mount the military to crush the revolt, besieging the capital of Jarrah seven days until all the people were starved to death. Following this, Daku rounds up the remaining sons of Yannathan, many of them being formidable warriors, and orders them into exile. They take three ships of British design, and launch from the port of Dandiri (OTL Brisbane) to parts unknown, ordered to never return to Anangeia ever again.
    • OOC Person: No, I never gave you designs for ships. I gave you some firearms and even then you may struggle to replicate them.
    • Uluru Exiles: Bakan, seeing Uluru's victory with the help of the westerners, becomes extremely disillusioned with the Chapel of the Dreamspeakers as he and his compatriots land on a barge in Tasmania.
  • Bengal Sultanate|Magadh: The nation of Awadh is annexed. The Sultan makes a visit to the region appointing his younger brother as Governor of the new local government before returning to Dhaka. The Jizyah is implemented in Awadh, the people of Awadh who had not even heard of Jizyah since the fall of the Delhi Sultanate revolt in reaction of the implementation of Jizyah. The revolt quickly spreads from Hastinapur in the west to Kannauj and Lakhnau. Peasant revolts occur in pockets in Assam and Burma in reaction to higher Jizyah rates and forced conversions. The revolt in the West comes to be led by two brothers, Shivansh Chauhan and Anirrudh Chauhan. The peasant revolt wreaks havoc in Bengal and quickly spins out of control to newer fronts bringing the intermediary-tiller conflict into the spotlight. Bands of peasants refuse to pay the dues to landlords and raid granaries on orders of local peasant leaders who promise a redistribution of land once the 'new' war is over. Back in Dhaka, one of the Sultan's minister, Uzair Ahmed Khan attempts a coup but fails. Uzair Khan escapes out of Dhaka and moves to Burma to organise a mass uprising against the oppressive Sultan, joining hands with the Burmese leader Ashin Zeya. In Assam, Debashish Dutta leads the peasant revolt which ends up with the hanging of the members of the local ruling dynasty. The Sultan finds himself surrounded by a group of 20,000 peasants on his way to Dhaka who are massacred by the 5000 infantrymen loyal to the Sultan. Another 20,000 infantrymen and cavalrymen loyal to the Sultan's government set out from Dhaka to suppress the opposition in Bengal. Uzair Khan and Ashin Jaya raise an army of 40,000 Burmese soldiers and move on to capture Chittagong. 200,000 soldiers of the Sultan's army openly revolt against the Sultan. Their leader General Zail Singh allies himself with the Chauhan brothers in a pact near Buxar. The local garrisons in Patna and Gaya close the city gates in anticipation of the Sultanat's response to the revolt. The Sultan takes shelter in Munger and is hanged by the townspeople during the night, by the afternoon the next day, Munger is burnt to the ground and its inhabitants massacred. A day after the Sultan's death, Dhaka falls under Ashin Jaya's troops. Following the fall of Dhaka, the leaders of the revolt(s) convene in Hemgarh. As the peasant revolt comes to an end, the intermediaries have mostly been eliminated and the faith of the peasantry lies with the council. The new council passes a decree abolishing the de-facto abolished intermediary system. The council decides to rename the nation to Magadh. The leaders initiate a wave of reforms, effectively placing the army under the command of the new council seated in Hemgarh and with Zail Singh as the new leader. A substantial amount of money in the royal treasury is diverted to the upgradation and construction of infrastructure in Burma, Assam and Bengal. Reconstruction efforts are spurred on by rich merchants sending money to their home-areas and making effective use of the bima-hundi method. A large amount of private investment flows to the government treasury as donations made by the temples and the people, donating gold. Even the Thuggees involve themselves in the reconstruction of the nation in the aftermath of a war that has shook the societal structure of the nation and introduced many changes. A wave of new ideas proposed by the student groups finds popularity in the newly freed masses. Eastern parts of Awadh, the area around Patna and Western parts of Bengal are gripped by a famine. The government tries to transport food grains to the famine-affected areas but major efforts fail as a result of the internal tariff system which the state now perceives as barriers to aid efforts.
  • Malaya: Ideas from the Bornean Anak-anak Srivijaya movement begin to seep into Malaya, with the Nusantara movement being established in two separate branches, on in Penang, and the other in Sandakan. An explorer has returned from the Anageia expeditions, carrying along various specimens and the Black Fever. Unfortunately, the infected sailors have seemingly transmitted the Black Fever to others in the town of Balikpapan, where the infection count stands at seven. Medical assistance has been called from the capital, as such a disease had not been encountered before.
  • Japanese Secret Diplomacy: We are extremely excited that the Nusantara movement has taken hold to oust Burgundian rule and we send arms, supplies and diplomats in order to support the movement.
  • Kingom of Califórnia: The National Congress lets enlightened philosophers speak and write openly without any opresion but they do not promote it yet as it benefits aren't yet seen. Printers of Iberian craft are begining to be copied for official porposes to create more laws on to paper and even some rights. Our union of sejms also begins to encourage Iberians in the aztlan federation to come live in our nation were they can live without opression of their people and with their legal status kept. We also keep aiding the Aztlan with their war (in secret) but we do demand them handing over control of some lands to us.
Armed militias in Somalia murder the police force. Led by Imam Zakia Abdullah, Somalia rises against Dar Es Salaam and campaigns to destroy the heretical beliefs. Qamar soon joins in. Most of Swahili, the army and the navy remains under the control of Swahili loyalists. The Island of Qamar is blockaded. Hurray and Rowzi is asked to provide support for the loyalists. Defenses are erected along the River of Tana.
The regiment continues being stationed.
  • Ququququ:The Koito reform continues and as the Ququququ nation is finally stable enough, the outlying tribes are contacted in order to induce them into the Union.
  • Belkan Federation: The continued push for the settlement acts as the three acts of settlement put to law by Vozdh Milosevic expands as nearly 150,000 people this year alone flee the overcrowded core regions. However, of those 150,000, it's catalogued that roughly 75% of them have settled in Greece and Krete. Greece in particular has taken on a big influx of immigration from the core due to the large amount of free land as well as the large amount of resources which currently remain known but unused. Krete is more or less just a paradise which is highly attractive which sees Krete become a popular destination for merchants and seamen who wish to make their living based out of Krete. The population of Belka reaches 18.4 million and growing as the growth in frontier regions begins to pick up. As a result of movement out of the overcrowded cities the people who are now starting to go out of work due to higher productivity of farms begin moving towards cities and "factories" nearby cities which produce textiles, steel, ironworks. Many nearby towns and villages as well as Belgrad in particular see an upswing in population and are forced to expand as a result of the opening of the factories some of which lie up on the Danube and Sava Rivers. Further along the Danube as Vidin in Bulgaria a series of river-powered mills and factories are opened to produce more textiles, steel, iron products, interestingly enough Belgrad sees only a few arms manufactories open up as current demand for arms is low. However, the production of munitions is rather high as the stockpiles are kept high to allow for the occurance of a massive major war which is extremely possible.
    • Papal Dip: The Standing Committee for Council Preparations requests the Belkan government for permission to hold an Ecumenical Council in Constantinople beginning in 1785.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: Seeing fighting in Bengal and the annexation of Awadh and the subsquent persecution of non- Muslims the British East India Company proposes a coaltion to Delhi, Gwalior, Punjab, Khandesh, Jagdalpur and Nagpur to launch an invasion of Awadh to liberate the Hindus. (Mod response) Harvey continues to hold his position while Washington blocks traffic along the river. Other than this little offensive efforts made. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. Henry Cort of Funtley, England, invents the grooved rolling mill for producing bar iron. Thomas Bell patents a method of printing on fabric from engraved cylinders.
    • British Arcadia: The Arcadians continues to expand westwards 50 px from the Mander (Tennessee River) towards the Mecipici.
  • Papal States: The Pope goes onto his balcony one morning in June. "Snow!?" he exclaims, "at this time of year, in this part of the country, falling as far as the eye can see??" His personal Chaplain then ushers him off the balcony, telling His Holiness he has to eat his breakfast. The 'Memo '82' as it has come to be called, begins being implemented by the Congregation for Missions, with resources being redirected as per the memorandum of last year. Meanwhile, the Pope realises that there needs to be an Ecumenical Council in two year's time, and he creates a Standing Committee for Council Preparations (made up of himself, the Latin Patriarch, representatives of the other Patriarchs, a number of diplomats, and events planners). The Committee tentatively decides on Constantinople as the location for the next Council (having decided against 'some yurt in Mongolia' which was put forward by the representative of the Mongolian Patriarch). The Committee also composes a provisional agenda for the Council. In other news, the Papal Nuncio to Western Arcadia asks for the Holy See to join the Arcadian Congress as an observer member.
  • 'Empire of Japanese: We send a secret diplomat to  'Anak-Anak Srivijaya, Borneo's Indpendence movement, in order to facilitate direct communication between Anak and Imperial Japan. Fierce and fiery debate enters the Flower Court, divided on whether we should primarily support Anak-Anak Srivijaya, the Nunastra movement, or no movement whatsoever. Plans for both a war with France and Burgundy are drafted in the midst of this debate and naval production is ramped up as we appear destined for war with either European power.
  • Iberia: Iberia agrees to the Burgundian offer of assistance.
  • Borneo: The influence of anak-anak srivijaya grows and spreads among key military officials due to the rajahs policy of alienating bornean officials.
  • Russia: As the Winter is continually cold, more people move to Saint Abraham and the South region of Sasquatch Island. The Tlingit War finishes up with the subjugation and annexation of the coastal parts of Tlingit territory (basically OTL Alaska, British Columbia border.). Many native warrior prisoners are subjugated into a period of forced labor. Small amounts of arms still flow Atzlan from the Cinigrad foundry. One arms foundry is opened up in Novoarchangelsk. The crew of the frigate Tuvov land at OTL Port Angeles, Washington and form a settlement as Russian settlers continue to move south from Alyeska and Siberia to the land dubbed Saliya (OTL Washington).

Another day another list SupremeSensual Samrāṭ Sky 22:02, September 5th, 2017 (UTC)

French Brazil declares its independence, raising a fifty thousand army (50,000) in order to ward off any royalists in its claimed lands.

The British industrialization begins affecting the internal migration in the country. An increase in village-to-town/city migration is noticed this year.

Northern Japan, specifically Hokkaido, experiences a drop in temperature. The Ainu become Aicicles.

The Scandinavian settlements in the northern parts of the New World (also known as Ken Yada), also suffer greatly from the temperature drops, which are considered too cold even for the Norsemen.

  • Kingdom of California: Our National Congress officially recognises the independence of French Brazil but it does not declare war on France itself. The King, with congress' approval, begins to demand Aztlan giving more land to his nation to have them pay of the debt that they have towards our nation. The city of San Diego, Lucentum, Mzer and Diltwa Wituye get their own flag. The "Forças armadas nacionais" keeps preparing for more and it asks to join with the Aztlan army to do dual attack (mod response). The "Forças armadas reais" keeps enforcing laws in the liberated Iberian land. To help the "Marinheiros armados nacionais" and their aim to control more of the sea we found the "academia nacional de marinheiros" which is meant to train them better and with state paid equipment.
    • Atzlan Dip: We refuse to give up more land, you do not decide that you get to change how debt payments are made unilaterally.
    • Californian Dip: At least, we ask for military access to your lands to help you in your war.
  • Empire of Uluru: As the council of Ngarrindjeri is coming to close to closing, the Emperor considers ways of improving the external economy of the nation. Taro had been used as currency since ancient times, but after reading much more on Asia, African and European monetary systems, he decides to experiment with other materials. So he starts by exporting works of leather to various nations they trade with, including Britain, China, and Swahili. Many of these leathers include diamonds embedded in, which are just used for astetics as the anangu can fand them just about anywhere. The nation also experiments trying to mint coins, variously out of gold and iron.
  • Malaya: The spread of the Black Fever is slowed after containment methods were set in place by medical officials from Kuala Lumpur. The village of Balikpapan has been cut off from the rest of the nation, allowing none to go in and none to get out. The Nusantara Movement gains popularity, although slightly different from the Anak-Anak Srivijaya movement, which seeks to forcibly remove French influence, but rather a soft transition from protectorate to independent Kingdom. A submersible craft has been tested in the ports of Malacca, and is found to work if sealed properly. As of now it is only for recreational purposes, becoming somewhat of an attraction that allows people to see the murky depths of the Port of Malacca for five minutes at best.
  • Belkan Federation: Vozdh Milosevic in an attempt to strengthen the Federal state begins looking at the issue of both the Vozdh and his vice minister (the Vozdhs backup aka vice president) being killed and begins looking at a line of succession so that the country will always have a leader in the event of a disastrous attack. This is met with some trepidation as many see it as unnecessary. However, the Vozdh imparts an air of confidence in a victory of the legislation particularly in part of his political success in the aftermath of the settlements acts. the Act passes by a huge margin giving further political credibility to the Vozdh. Various parts of the government curious in the ongoing phenomena of the agricultural populations running to cities for work is of much surprise. However, they take it in stride and begin pushing for banks to give loans to these entrepreneurs in order to develop these new businesses which of those who have been built are coming off as extremely profitable. While Belgrad has seen much development in the last few years in regards to the new opening of factories, the Belkan cities of Zagreb and Ljubljana also see some development lieing on a profitable river route. In these two cities factories open up in moderate amounts producing textiles, iron works, steel, and in the case of Zagreb the establishment of the Zagreb arsenal, a series of factories producing arms for the Belkan military. Currently running off of the River power, the potential to ship down the Sava River becomes reality as large riverboats are used to send the manufactured goods down river to Belgrad which are in turn shipped to Vidin as well. Vidin and Belgrad in particular see an upswing in the tooling of textiles into manufactured clothing and other products using textiles which begins to very obviously turn Belgrad and Vidin into two of the larger hubs of factories in the region. The Goods are then shipped towards the Danube River delta which after centuries has been more or less drained of its swampy territory and transformed into arable farming land. As a result of this a series of steel production and iron rights are constructed in the region with much of the countries direct iron slated to be produced in the highly productive danube delta region. The Population of the country specifically undersettled areas begins to bloom with the population reaches 18.8 million with a huge catalogued baby boom this year as people begin to have much more money available to them and their families. Some families are reported to be trying to have five or six children. The settlement of frontiers continues specifically with another wave of immigrants flooding into Moldavia and Transylvania specifically with the discovery of exploitable hard cole in the Jiu valley. The City of Trieste begins to grow once again as settlement into the nearby regions brings the Slovenian province headlong into the modern era with Trieste and Ljubljana expanding their populations and worth significantly. Trieste in particular becomes the second most profitable Port after Vasiligrad in the country.
    • Czech Federation: The Czech Federation continues previously pro-Russia and pro-Belka policies and also begins entering into a close economic alliance between the Russians and Belkans specifically to recover a lot of the lost wealth that was taken or destroyed during the war which ended the HRE. The Czech Vozdh being somewhat disconnected from his allies besides through a small strip of Hungary adopts a heavily defensive strategy and begins heavily fortifying the mountains around Czechia specifically mountain passes and the short low land that allows access into Bohemia.
    • Greek Confederation: With the Greeks finally imposing their full rule on the former lands of Rum it has become apparent that the Turks are to be treated as second class citizens. Many villages are depopulated by Greek soldiers who instead fence these men to Belkan Tobacco plantations as slaves specifically to increase Belkas share in the cash crop of tobacco. Outside of this some of the higher level turks are used to collude and keep the Turks from revolting and after a request from Vozdh Milsevic some are sent to Tunis as a potential chance at pacifying the muslims in the North African territories. While this is occuring there is much settlement into the depopulated countrysides and generally many turks have lands confiscated in favor of Greeks. The Greek leader specifically, however, separates Turkish classes incorporating the higher levels and allowing the middle class to operate unmolested as long as they also learn Greek. The lower classes, however, are the ones displaced, killed or sold in favor of greek settlers who begin taking up residence around Ancyra (once more Greek Ankara)
    • Tunisian Governate: Tunis continues to see growth as a solid ethnic belkan merchant and middle class take up residence in the city. The city is also fortified and ringed with forts so as to not disrupt the cities goings on with mass fortification. On top of this the City walls begin to be slowly taken down in favor of turning the city into a more proper Belkan city, planning, Sewage, an expanded port, and significant urbanization. The City garrison is kept extremely large and a supply depot and arsenal are kept fully up to date in order to keep the 30,000 strong Garrison (which isnt counted in city population) from being undersupplied and overwhelmed in case of attack. The 1st and 2nd Tunisia Squadrons specifically begin patrolling nearby waters and connect the patrol routes specifically to the rest of the navy which now operates forward out of Heraklion the most recently expanded and settled city on Krete with Belkan settlers.
A scholar-farmer in Malindi continues testing selective breeding, producing a few giant cows. The colder climate lengthens the growing seasons and crops, which previously died from the heat. The increase in food production means that both sides of the civil war is capable of sending more soldiers. The Loyalists Navy blockades Qamar while the Reactionary Navy, made mainly of fishing ships and a few trade boats, seek to privateer the trade routes of Loyalist merchants. Reactionary forces advance to the River of Tana, but is repulsed by 20,000 Loyalist soldiers. A 10,000 man contingent of Oromo cavalry is formed and instructed to begin strategic raids on the Loyalists. Currently, the population of Somalia is six million, the population of Qamar is six million and the population of the Loyalist Swahili is eight million.
    • Lakshadweep: The island of Lakshadweep continues development.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. Ships are sent to help blockade Qamar.
    • Rowzi: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. Around 5000 soldiers depart to assistthe Loyalists.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain:Harvey continues to hold his position while Washington blocks traffic along the river. Other than this little offensive efforts made. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. James Watt's steam engine now powers an increasingly large number of coal mines pumping. James Watt receives a British patent for his parallel motion and other improvements to the steam engine. Joseph Bramah receives his first lock patent in London. Rev. Dr. Edmund Cartwright designs his first power loom in England. Henry Cort of Funtley, England, applies the coal-fired reverbatory furnace to the puddling process for conversion of cast to wrought iron. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop to move coal from the mines and goods from the ships. England has 7.4 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.6 million, Ireland has 3.7 million people and Scotland 1.1 million. As the proportion of urban to rural increases cities expand as more factories grow.
    • British Arcadia: The Arcadians continues to expand westwards 50 px from the Mander (Tennessee River) towards the Mecipici. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westwards in the search for water.
  • Ququququ:The Koito reform continues and as the Ququququ nation is finally stable enough, the outlying tribes are contacted in order to induce them into the Union.
  • Papal States: Preparations for next year's Ecumenical Council continue. With the Belkan government accepting the offer condintionally on the council being named the First Council of Vasiligrad -rather than the Fifth Council of Constantinople- most of the important preparations are complete (although abandoning the name 'Constantinople' is met with consternation from the historians guild). The Standing Committee for Council Preparations (SCCP) has drawn up a draft agenda, with the main issues being the status of the Chinese Church, bringing the Copts (finally) into full communion, and lenghtening the period between councils to fifty years. Further intergration of the newly-annexed Italian states continues. Missions continue, especially in Uluru, Zulu, and Western Arcadia.
    • Bishopric of St Peter-in-Brazil: The Bishop, ever a pragmatist, announces his loyalty to the new republican regime, and raises his own troops to assist the central government. Pituba University has become a fairly important centre of learning, and the Prayerful Congregation of Our Lady of Pituba has grown to become a substantial order. The university's observatory uses its southerly position to help its correspondents in Rome, and to publish its own academic work.

Empire of Japan: Hokkaido freezes over and enters a severe blizzard and a team of natural scientists are sent to the study what caused this brutal winter and they are accompanied by a small contingent of samurai in order to help assist the team if they ever freeze and to help any entrapped citizens in the blizzard. Of course the team is not able to save everyone as Hokkaido is massive, thus the communities help their own members, which brings the Hokkaido communities closer together. Unfortunately, the inevitable happens and many Japanese perish in the blizzard, many of which are unaccounted for. Across the nation, people go to Shinto shrines or pray at home for the safety and well being of Hokkaido, and many wonder if this is punishment for our sins. The religious discontent only further spurs the government further to find a natural cause for the Hokkaido blizzard. Internationally, news of the Malayan desire for gradual and peaceful independence from Burgundy and of the Brazilian Revolution against France, it is finally decided that we will remain firm with the plan to support Anak- Anak Srivijaya in the event they violently declare independence from France and when this happens we shall enter in a state of war with France, highly anticipated for next year. In light of this decision, naval production and training explodes as well as exercises for amphibious invasions, which happen on Taiwan and Ququququ.. The government also grows increasingly infuriated with Uluru, not because we are being outright denied access to the Council of Ngarrindjeri, but that we are completely ignored despite having a colony in Shengdi.

  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Guyana and New Germany continue settling their claimed lands. Patagonië expands 50 px. Support continues to be given to the Iberian in fighting the Atzalan, and the Burgundian navy seizes or sinks Atzalan shipping at sea. Coal mining, especially in Comital Burgundy and Boulogne increases as the steel industry in Burgundy expands.
  • Russia: Tuvov is expanded inland. Settlers continue to arrive in the Pyotr Archipelago and Saliya. The Archipelago is deemed the colony of Pytrlind. A musician named Rostislav Vetrov enters the army. The Forts at Port Alexander and Mersin are upgraded with new artillery. The population of Novorossiya in its whole is about 30,000. Almost half of the population is native. The current colonies of Novorossiya are currently Novoruthenia, Aleutia, Tuvov, Pytrlind, and Saliya.
  • Uluru Exiles: Bakan and his people, after floating for several months, land on a strange island. They believe it to be south of Uluru, but they are not sure. Bakan takes some cloth from the barge and ties it around a stick, placing it firmly on the beach. He declares "This Will Be Our Land! Land of the Free!". This is met by cheers by his people. Another Feudal Lord, Natan of Zaza, was carrying several western books with him on the barge and persuades Bakan into making a Great Western Empire on the island. Soon, all the commotion is heard by the native people of the island. Bakan meets chief Tikalt'k of Dorne, who thinks the party are gods as they arrived from the sea. Bakan gives the Chief and his tribe blankets in exchange for learning how to survive on the island, which Bakan soon learns is called Trounna. He also learns that Chief Tikalt'k is the chief of one of nine nations on the island. Bakan ridicules the way Tikalt'k's tribe lives and orders them to construct houses like those on Uluru. He says that "Men of the Sea live in stone dwellings, grow food from the ground, and use iron swords and armor". He orders the construction of an Ochre farm and clears the area where they landed of vegetation, using the wood to build houses. His treatment of the native Tasmanians is brutal, but they obey because they think he is a god that came from the sea. He finds that there is a layer of soil beneath the topsoil on the island that is extremely fertile (similar to Russian Chernozem).
  • Empire of Dravidia: Following countless decades of gross mismanagement, corruption and a general decay in the authority of Deccan Maharajas; the regime finally began to crumble as the Rais of Dravidia launched an assault upon the capital city of Tirupati. Having never expected such level of treachery, the Maharaja and the Imperial auxillary forces were completely taken by surprise and were thus forced into a retreat as the rebels flooded into the city. Eventually even the Falaknuma Palace was surrounded, a castle of sort that had always been the symbol of the Maharaja's wealth and power. Ironic as it was now his fina stronghold and unfortunately, it was also to be his resting place. As it seemed, the Rais of Dravidia was neither lenient nor merciful and had every member of the royal household executed once the Palace was taken. He didn't even spare the nobles, with the ruling dynasty of the Deccan Maharajya completely annihilated. The Maharaja reportedly begged for mercy, offering the Rais enough wealth that would last him a hundred life times but regrettably for him, all the King received was the sword. It was a cruel but decisive act, one that certainly ensured no one would ever have to witness the nonsense all the past kings had been blabbering. Of course, at the same time, it tarnished the Rais's image forever as he was soon named the Butcher of Tirupati, not that it mattered to him as he felt his actions were justified. In any case, the only question that mattered now was who would rule Dravidia and this was soon answered when wthin a fortnight of the incident, the Rais of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran was proclaimed the Emperor of Dravidia in the presence of regional emisarries and before a sizeable crowd in Hyderabad. For Haider, Dravida Nadu was simply not enough. For Haider, the Deccan was simply not enough. No, he would rule over all of Dravidia and relish all its riches. That was to be his destiny and he sure was adamant on seeing it through ... in this life or the next.
  • I am sorry, if you do not know, Dravidia has a player and it is still being controlled by me. My name is still there on the nations page. I was inactive for the time due to a major problem in my family. -Drake346
  • Oh, I am well aware that there was an existing player for Dravidia. It's just that since you barely ever posted, I asked the Moderators for permission to replace you which I was given. In any case, now that you are back.. welcome back Drake. -Rimp

Another day another early turn because I need to wake up in like 5.5 hours SupremeSensualSamrāṭSky 21:57, September 6th, 2017 (UTC)

Events to be added.

  • The Kingdom of Trowunna: Bakan names his land the Kingdom of Trowunna after the island and becomes intent on Conquering the nine nations. Using their excess ochre, superior technology, and superior strategy, King Bakan launches an invasion of the the nations of the west and east (both coastal), which have no army and are instantly defeated. Bakan also encourages several of his fellow exiles to take wives among the natives as they have children with them to populate the island with Anengaians. King Bakan of Trowunna also sets to build the city on the beach where he arrived (Devonport, Tasmania). He orders the construction of the city using stone and wood by the slave labor of the Palawa. When Bakan and his army were about to kill the chief of the west, the chief begged for his life saying he had a very special piece of information (Uluran and Palawan are mutually intelligible). This information was passed down to him from generation to generation when people first came to Trowunna from a greater land and came to that land using vessels which could travel across the water like one could on land. Bakan knows these, they are the boats of the west. He learns that the people of Anengaia, Trowunna, and Angu were once great conquerors like the Europeans. "The land softened us" he said. From that point on he swore to the heavens "that [we] will make boats and [the boats] will travel the world and discover lands that thought they were alone! And we will conquer [them]!" He orders the Chief of the West to be put in a prison in the capital where his fellow exiles will grill him every day and attempt to use the western books to figure out how to make these boats that once made his people so mighty. He names the city Tainui, after the mythical boats that the chieftain described. King Bakan appoints fellow exiles Zras and Tarkas as lords of the West and East. They marry the former wives of the chieftains and begin setting about Uluruan law and western law learned from the western books they brought with them. King Bakan also orders the teaching of Yura as a language and that the children of the tribes of North, East and West, must go to schools in their tribal area. These schools are built as a means of teaching the natives of how to become "Men of the Sea" that will conquer the Universe. Bakan also orders that in his city of Tainui, the school must teach of Uluruan History and the western books brought with them.
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain, with the Emperor selecting the shrewd steward of Hyderabad, Sadullah Khan to serve as the Grand Vizier. The government itself was carefully modelled upon the one utilized by the Gurkani Sultans of Persia and the Bahmani Sultans of the Deccan centuries ago. Indeed, it was an ancient form of government but one that had worked effectively then and would surely suffice now too. The Dravidian population rose to about 53.4 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kollam and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the south; primarily due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization that these cities faced. This inflow of manpower allowed the Empire to rapidly expand upon its fishery, shipbuilding and tea industries, key businesses for those residing in coastal towns and port cities. Meanwhile, the Dravidian navy began further development of its new larger classes of steam engine ships, churning out first rate flagships for various fleets, and more third rates, and fourth rates with the occasional second rate to augment the smaller patrol fleets the fifth and sixth rates begin to become more standard as light and medium frigates for singular voyages and patrols among other things. Along the same time, a standardized army of roughly 80,000 men was raised to defend the state from any foreign invasion with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Mysore. Apart from the national army, an Imperial Guard was also propped up. mainly to protect the Monarch and his household from any threat. As such, quite a bit of importance was given to the production of firearms and gunpowder, with Mysore soon becoming the epicentre of the Dravidian rocket industry. Besides the firearms, the infantry was also equipped with daggers and swords to be utilised in close combat against the enemy. Meanwhile, in agriculture was the largest economic focus of Dravidia, selling such goods as rice, wheat, maize, potatoes, indigo, opium, wheat, cannabis and other crops to European merchants as well as those from other states. It was jute and muslin in particular that served as the most important exports of the Empure given the general need for them in Europe. The Emperor, Haider Shah Agran soon implemented a new currency system which was to be the well-regulated Dravidian Rupee. Along the same time, the Dravidian Renaissance was in full swing with pan-dravidian movements such as the Young Dravidia movement established that espoused rationalism and atheism as the common denominators of civil conduct amongst the educated masses. The monarchy generally co-operated with the upholders of the renaissance, and brought forth social reforms in order to disband various backward practices such as belief in Priests possessing divine powers which was termed shirk. These movements were, of course, largely restricted to the urbanized sectors of the cities with most of the Empire's inhabitants holding true to their traditional conservative values. Along the same time, education and scientific research was promoted amongst the masses, with schools and colleges constructed throughout the Sultanate. International-standard universities were also constructed at Hyderabad, Mysore, Kollam and Tanjore in order for Dravidia to advance ahead of other regional states and maintain a particular pace as the world entered into the stage of industrialization. Interestingly, it was the Dravidian literature that reached its Golden Age with hundreds of poets and scholars sprouting throughout the Empire. The Empire itself promoted Dakhini nationionally, a language that was almost synonymous with Urdu and was little to no different to Hindi except in regards to the script used. It was a language that had historically been restricted only to the Deccan but now had speakers in all corners of the Empire, with the elites speaking it as their first language, the educated opting it over their native languages whilst the general public utilized it as a lingua franca. That was expected, after all, Dakhini had been the administrative language for many centuries now, an accomplishment Haider owed to the Bahmani Kings of the Deccan.
    • India is not industrializing any time soon whatsoever. The tech, know how, none of it has spread. Also industrialization started out as a way to save labor. If you have 50 million people you sure as hell dont need to save labor. -Feud
    • Alright, I'll refrain from mentioning it again -Rimp
  • Dravidia: The army and navy have begun slowly mobilizing for a war against an unknown foreign entity. The Agamic philosophy has spread to the entirety of Dravidia and has become an integral part of the education system. Gurukulas continue to be established. The state focuses on improving irrigation and transportation facilities. New roads are constructed to link the major towns and older roads are paved. The government designates the status of 'major regional port' to Masulipatnam and will work for its development to a level same as that of Kollam. The government nationalizes major mining operations. The first bank is opened in Kollam. A university is established in Tirupati, the small capital to study about the Agamas and Dravidian history. A review of the army is ordered by the council of nobles.
  • Empire of Uluru: Christianity and Islam both spread rapidly in the nation from contact with Europe and Africa. Generally the countryside adopts more Islam while the cities become more Christian. Emperor Dadu remains neuteral on religion for the time being, working to maintain control of the nation by the syncretic Confucian philosophy of China. More intellectuals are trained utilizing the printing press. Experimenting with more monetary systems, Uluru begins exporting gold and iron coins in exchange for their imports from Swahili, Britain and China. Assorted jewels and diamonds are also offered. The history of Uluru continues to be compiled and written in hangul. No attempt is made to contact the exiled rebels.
  • Kingdom of California "Marinheiros armados nacionais" begins their first trainings in the "academia nacional de marinheiros". The "Forças armadas nacionais" ask to personaly meet with the leader of the aztlan army to discuss them giving more military aid to them (mod response). Our National Congress also begins to look for ways to get change into the state and the philophy of it. The king Philipe Augusthino Diltwa II ask the Salish personaly in a letter if they want to form a new alliance called the pascific pact he says this in these words: "Grande nação do salinisho I, rei da Califórnia pergunte ao seu país para entrar em uma aliança com seu povo, sua cultura, seu Deus, seu idioma e seu pacto leader. The i pessoalmente chamar a Aliança Pacific contra imperialistas estrangeiros e traidores de nossos estados"
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. The army continues convincing contracted servants. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. A scholar-farmer in Malindi continues testing selective breeding, producing high wool production sheep. A 50,000 strong army is formed in Malindi, tasked to attack the Reactionaries and destroy their stronghold in Mogadishu. Another 50,000 strong army is formed to defend Malindi and Mombasa from incursion, especially those by the Oromo cavalry. They cross the Tana River and capture the city of Lamu and Kismayo. The combined loyalist navies continue the blockade on the Island of Qamar. A 50,000 strong army is also formed by the Reactionaries, formed from veterans, ex-conquistadors, frontiersman, tribespeople and the agricultural nobility. The Army of Zakia is sent to repel the Royalist incursion. A 1000 strong regiment is formed of Christian volunteers, seeking to solidify a place in society.
Around 5000 soldiers depart to assist the Loyalists.
      • Dravidian Diplomacy: Emissaries are sent to the Swahili court, informing the Sultan of the Dravidian Emperor's desire to purchase Lakshadweep.
  • Belkan Federation: The development along the Danube and Sava Rivers continues with more and more businesses and factories opening up. Trieste now becoming more and more focused as a major trade port become a primary port which belkan manufactured goods are exported.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: Harvey continues to hold his position while Washington blocks traffic along the river. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow.
There maintains a large export market to Britian for cash crops and staple foods. The population is 2.9 million.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Guyana and New Germany continue settling their claimed lands. Patagonië expands 50 px. Coal mines are expanded, and outside Amsterdam the first "factory" in the country is opened. Following an example set by Belka, the Middelburg Arsenal is established, to manufacture weapons for the Burgundian Army and Navy. The commander of the Burgundian Army, Jakob, Graaf Lure, is given the newly established rank of Grand Marshal, and begins implementing a series of reforms. The Army is reorganized into "bands" (OTL corps), large administrative division with its own infantry, cavalry and artillery units, and capable of independent operations. Meanwhile, Admiral Edmund Ramaaker, overseer for the Navy's design department, proposes the construction of what he calls "grand frigates", larger than standard frigates (44 guns compared to the typical 36 or 38 guns). They would also be constructed by dense wood from the New World, like white pine, longleaf pine, and most importantly southern live oak. To account for the longer length, the internal ribs would be angled at 45 degrees to prevent hogging. Intrigued, the navy approves for the construction of six frigates.
  • Borneo: The growing power of the Anak-Anak Srivijaya threatens the rajah severely. However, he learns the identity of the leader of the movement, who is in fact his brother pengrin Anak. The rajah begins to plan a surprise attack to capture them, but the group catches wind of the plan and under the cover launches a coup in the royal palace. The coup succeeds in capturing the rajah and his French supporters. Anak is crowned the maharajah of Brunei and the anak-anak srivijaya controlled government declares independence from France.
  • Empire of Japan: 175 years ago, the Imperial Japanese Military invaded Borneo to conquer it for Japan, now in light of their Declaration of Independence we invade Borneo again, not for conquest, but her Independence, with 50,000 troops and 500 ships, and thus we declare war on the French Empire, making landfall in support of Anak, Maharajah of Brunei.
  • Russia: Continued settlement of Pytrlind and Saliya continues as Alyeska is expanded. Savinkov in his 70s is still going and orders the modernization of the Black Sea and Baltic Fleets. Infrastructure is improved along the Trans-Siberian road. Savinkov also convenes with his generals to prepare war plans against Scandinavia and Arabia.

Many ethnic Turks decide to flee Anatolia as the overbearing oppression of the Belkan Greek authority comes into force. Most go into Arabia, while some go to the country of Turkey. However, others go into continental Europe, creating a migrant crisis of Turks coming into European countries. Additionally, many of them travel to British Arcadia believing they will be able to start anew there. A "New Turkey" community is formed in New London. None of the fleeing Turks speak the language of any of the countries they have moved to, creating great problems.

  • Italian League: The military is rebuilt after the betrayal of "Belkan Federation". As per the existing conscription laws all adult males are required to undergo military training, and new professional armies are raised, while the military installations and forts are manned. Taking advantage of the turmoil in Germany, we invade Austria in order to swiftly take back the territory they took from us suddenly. We assure our neighbors, particularly Belka, that we do not mean to threaten Austria's independence. New elections take place in the Republic for consul, with pro-war candidates winning out, having taken advantage of the anger among the people over the unexpected defeat.
  • United Empire of Brésil: Due to the dissatisfaction with the government of the new state of Riviere D'Argent and their Actes Intolerables and the removal of Brazilian self-governance, captains of New Valois and the governor of French Antarctique meet with each other in Nouveau Alençon (New Alençon; OTL: Recife) to create a new government. The “founding fathers” declare their own independence as the United Empire of Brésil with the union of the captaincies of New Valois and the governorship of French Antarctique. Over the next few weeks, the founders write a constitution for their new nation which guarantees many rights including freedom of speech, assembly, to vote, and press. The constitution also sets up the new government as representative unicameral parliamentary constitutional monarchy. After lots of debate, the founders choose the new emperor to be one of their own, the former Grand Captain of New Alençon, Nicolas Alexandre de Medici-Brésil who takes the name Nicolas I of Brésil. In the government, the emperor is very limited due to the constitution and legislature known as Grand Assembly. The members of the Grand Assembly known as Deputies, then elect among themselves a Grand Deputy who leads the Assembly (who has powers almost equal to the Emperor). Deputies of the Assembly serve for four year terms and can only be re-elected twice. The Emperor is allowed to veto laws that go through the assembly unless they receive a super majority. Other powers of the emperor include commander-in-chief (but funding of the army is controlled by Assembly) and appoint judges (through the assembly). The last major decision made by the founders is making Nouvelle Calabre the capital of their new nation. By the end of summer, elections are held in the hundred constituencies which elect deputies for the Grand Assembly and the new government functionally starts. The first decision made by Emperor Nicolas is to raise an army of fifty-thousand men using militias, volunteers, and some conscripts to affirm its independence to France. The army is mostly stationed in major cities to curb the influence of the Kingdom of France and their loyalists. Courts throughout the nation try loyalists for treason, and they are given the option to emigrate back to France or be arrested. The Grand Assembly also attaches small customs duties on the exports of sugar cane and brazilwood to generate revenue for the government. Some of this money in the budget is used to construct a navy. The government also starts creating its own coin called the Brésilian Denier at a mint in Saint Pierre (OTL Salvador).
    • Bishopric of St Peter-in-Brasil: The Bishop of the nominally Papal suzerain recognises the new government and pledges to help the new emperor in any way he can.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate of Arabia: The new sultan is Rasool ur Ra'ahmah bin Saahib il-Shafaah. With the influx of Turkish citizens coming into Arabia, Sultan Rasool declares the movement of citizens of Arabia into Eastern Rum as opposed to the main homeland of Arabia, as a way to stop any possible large language and religious differences among the colliding populations. After talks with both leaders of Rum and Dulkadir, the agreement to them uniting is finalized, with the Sultanate of Eastern Anatolia being created. All religion's and cultures are still accepted, with the general discrimination against Orthodox and Jews having ended. Coptics are still hated for obvious reasons.
    • Tehran Military State | Sultanate of Iran: The Qajar family finally receive full leadership of the Tehran Military State after the death of the Junaid el-Shahid. Morteza Qoli Khan Qajar is placed as Sultan. Although now a full fledged Sultanate, much of the same laws remain in place, causing distaste among citizens.
  • China: The population is estimated to be 290 million, with the scholar-officials of the imperial court deciding not to hold a census due to the sheer number of inhabitants China has. The urbanization rate is estimated to be around 15%; with people flocking to the Hanseong and Beijing metropolitan zones and adjacent satellite cities, and trading posts such as Guangzhou, Haikuo, and Shanghai. This is partially aided by the promulgation of advanced agricultural and meteorological practices (such as the pluviometre, water gauges, and proper irrigation) as well as the adoption of New World crops lifting the carrying capacity of China and its agricultural productivity. However, as the population continues to boom, the Qianlong Emperor begins to enact measure to curtail rampant growth, encouraging women to have no more than two or three children (whereas now it's between three or four children, accounting for infant mortality). Fortunately, this has also profound effects on the labour-intensive economic model China has pursued, with industrial facilities (steel mills, factories), shipyards, and arsenals being built in-accordance to the militarization policy. Flintlock rifles begin phasing out matchlocks, and naval artillery is replaced with newer models. In accordance to the Conference of Nangang, naval restrictions are once-again enforced (with the responsibility of controlling the Pacific falling on Japan), with the number of naval vessels cut down to 600 vessels, with 400 obsolete/damaged ships being destroyed for scrap material as a result. The economy continues to experience rapid commercialization, as the inflow of silver bullion allows for the creation of silver taels (coinage, worth 1.33 ounces each) to underpin commercial transactions. Gold mining is deemphasized, as visible reserves start dripping, though gold still forms the basis of high-value transactions. The economy also becomes more liberalized and implement laissez-faire institutions (similar to that of the Ming) are adopted, with emphasis placed on merchantile activity. Several state monopolies are privatized and given to government-loyalist chaebol, such as the National Bank of China. The state monopoly on salt and steel still remains, however. There is a boom in the textiles and handicrafts industry, bolstered by strong domestic and external demand. Other exports include luxury items such as jewellery, porcelain, tea, and silk. Basic sanitation and general hygiene continues to be promoted: public bathhouses, spas, latrines, and sewage systems are all built. Due to the introduction of European science and medicine by Immaculata missionaries, a few private universities with curriculums based off Western models are built, though however, are heavily discouraged by the government. The government continues to promote imperial examination and philosophy, mathematics, and political studies instead. For the first time, female-only (public) schools are established, but are intended mainly for the daughters of aristocrats and the elite, as females are barred from attending imperial examination and must be directly-appointed by the Emperor to gain political office. The Mongolia commandery is admitted as a province, with the position of Governor-General becoming "Governor".
Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing overreliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquiculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from the Baikal Lake.
  • The Kingdom of Trowunna: The population of the kingdom continues to grow as more forests are cleared and the city of Tainui is expanded. The Palawa population in the Kingdom becomes more subservient, as they now get their food from Trowunnan farms instead of hunting plus hunting is worse now due to deforestation. The Anengaian upper class continues to intermix with the Palawa. King Bakan sends 20 of his soldiers clad in iron armor with swords with 20 pounds of Ocre to the chief of the center tribe to negotiate with the Tribe of Center on its vassalization by the Kingdom, an interpreter is brought along to explain the more specific terms of the vassalization, which includes paying tribute to the Kingdom, swaring allegience, and allowing the Kingdom's armies and traders to pass through (Mod Response). A second city is built in the Westerlands known as Lnisprot on the sea. Houses are built and the growing populations are resettled there. A dirt road is built from Tainui to Lnisprot. King Bakan renames the Lord of the West as Zras of Lnis, as opposed to his previous epithet. The city of Tainui continues to grow. The first attempt at building a great canoe is a faliure as it seems to be too heavy. After long hard work by Natan of Zaza, a former lord obsessed with Western culture, the Kingdom's first canoe is built. It can carry one person and can travel far in the water. Bakan orders the production of several more canoes as well as for Natan to attempt to design a boat that can carry many people.
  • Malaya: We declare full support for Bornean independence, and carry out naval attacks on French ports, assisting both the Bornean and Japanese armies. The Nusantara Movement gets more supporters, and is pushing for independence, as they believe Malaya is ready to be fully independent. Roads are continued to be built, and a presence is built up in the region.
  • The kingdom of California:The National Congress tired of the war for Aztlan independence begins to write plans for a peace treaty. This treaty will ensure the balance between the fighting parties including ourselves. The "Forças armadas nacionais" stop their fighting to aid the Aztlans and instead build defences for the Aztlans. The "academia nacional de marinheiros" is Expanded more into the coastall parts of Lucentum. The National Congress asks the warring parties of the Azteco war of independence to sign The Treaty of San Diegoto get the warring parties to have peace (MOD AND PLayer response)
    • Pueblo Diplomacy: Our peoples had a good relationship before your independence and we would like to continue that trend. Would you agree to an alliance?
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. The army continues convincing contracted servants. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. A scholar-farmer in Malindi continues testing selective breeding, producing high wool production sheep. The high meat producing cow has spread to other farms. The Army of Northern Malindi continues raiding the Juba River Valley. Facing local supply issues, they decide to capture the city of Bardera and establish a supply base. The combined Royalist navies continue the blockade on the Island of Qamar. Some navies are sent to guard the city of Kismayo. The 50,000 strong army of Zakia marches upstream of the Juba River, after receiving intelligence on the Royalist attack. Several clashes occur along the way, with neither sides achieving a major victory. Zakia declares the rebels to be the Islamic Fundamentalist State of Swahili and declares his intention to destroy the infidel influences in Swahili, cleanse the Southern Lands and restore the Glory of Allah. Fundamentalists on the Island of Qamar prepares a breakout, as they construct multiple ships in natural harbours or in secluded coves. The Oromo Cavalry retreats suddenly from Royalist lands.
    • Lakshadweep: The island of Lakshadweep continues development.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. Ships are sent to help blockade Qamar. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.
    • Rowzi: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: We agree to sell a few islands in Lakshadweep in return for trade quarters and land for naval bases in the Empire of India. Royalist Swahili also proposes a trade agreement and sends many wares and several animals from the zoo as a gesture of goodwill.
    • Dravidian Diplomacy: The emissaries at the Swahili court reject the deal, stating that Dravidia would either purchase all of the Lakshadweep islands or none. (OOC: Names back to Dravidia)
  • Empire of Japan: News reaches us that the French still has a lease on our city of Nagasaki, and thus we raise an Army of 100,000 trained conscripts and 500 ships to reconquer the great port city of Nagasaki. Meanwhile, an Imperial Invasion of 25,000 troops and 250 ships are sent from Brunei to invade the French Spice Island of Ternate, and a massive invasion of force of 125,000 trained conscripts and 1348 ships are raised to invade the French Island of Java, invading Jakarta directly.
  • Hawaii: Colonization and settlement continues, as well as conquest or subjugation of the Polynesian tribes. The mandated inoculations prove to be successful, and the process continues across the kingdom.
  • Brunei: The Royal Bruneian Army is raised and mobilized, with King Anak calling upon all able bodies males to join the war against the French Empire.
  • Papal States: After a year's delay, the Council of vasiligrad is solemnly opened in Vasiligrad by the Pope's special Legate. The Uluru, Zulu, and Western Arcadian missions continue to attract adherents. Salish is asked whether it will permit Catholic missionaries.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain:Harvey continues to hold his position while Washington blocks traffic along the river. Other than this little offensive efforts made. James Rumsey tests his first steamboat in the Potomac River at Shepherdstown, Henry's land. Scottish millwright Andrew Meikle invents a practical threshing machine. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop to move coal from the mines and goods from the ships. The farmer's poll tax in Ireland and England is raised pushing more people into cities. England has 7.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 4.1 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow. With a lot of Turks fleeing Belka it is made known that Turks can migrate to Arcadia with the help of the government and claim land (Mod response)
There maintains a large export market to Britian for cash crops and staple foods. The population is 2.9 million. With the influx of Turks coming in many in New London are suspicious and fearful. Willing to take the Turks in but not wanting them in New London since there is nothing for them to do there because cities aren't really a thing in Arcadia it is suggested forcefully that they all migrate out west of New Essex set up farms as a group and can mostly maintain their traditions with little interference from the law out west. Those being transported by the government need to repay the cost of their passage over five years in products produced.

  • Italian League: Rebuilding of the military is still underway, hastened by the recent war. We force Austria to return Trento and Bozen, and a new border is created. We also begin receiving reparations from the defeated state for the next twenty years.
  • The Kingdom of Truwonna: King Bakan continues deforestation and a small mine is opened up in the East, where Bakan hopes to find Iron to make more weapons. Gravel begins being dug up and mixed with mud to make cement, which is used to pave the road from the mine to the capital of Tainui. Anengaians continue to marry the Palawa to increase the population. In the lower class area of Tainui, several Palawans, while working on buildings for the city, begin growing large sores all over them. In the second month since the outbreak, several of the effected Palawans begin to grow even more sick and the infection begins to spread. Anengaians seem to be immune to it as well as those with Anengaian blood. This causes even more Palawans to want to intermarry with the Anengaians and the Kingdom Rulers say that the disease is due to the Palawan's impure blood. The sores also bear a resemblance to a disease that plagued Uluru long ago known as black fever. Scholar and Healer Zlu of Znis researches the books of Uluruan history they brought with them to find a cure. Meanwhile, the disease continues to spread, going along the roads from Tainui to the easterlands and from the easterlands to the coasts of the island. It also appeared that the barge which the Anengaians came on brought several rats to the island. While, the rats don't seem to be interested in the Ochre the Kingdom is growing, they act as a conduit for the disease and have become more and more widespread on the island. Local species of rats are being outcompeted and dying off, leaving larger animals with no food and so they also begin to die off. This leads to widespread famine among the communities on Truwonna that still rely on hunting. A few Emus taken with the Anengaians to Truwonna which are kept and have more bred in the city of Tainui escape. The escaped Emus also begin hurting the ecosystem on Truwonna. More Emus are trained as King Bakan's royal guard now rides Emus. Meanwhile, the kingdom of Truwonna becomes more vegetarian due to the local animals dying out and the Emus being in short supply. A few more canoes are built and an expedition to circumnavigate the island by several men who have learned how to use the canoes is made. It takes them three months to complete the mission and they make contact with all of the coastal tribes, indirectly helping spread the Black Fever. Work on making a larger canoe continues.
  • The Oligarchic Republic of Magadh|The Magadh Mahajanpada: The leaders of the Republic now feel satisfied, having secured control of core Magadhan territory and re-established its supremacy as a Mahajanpada. A historical report is published by the Hemgarh University titled The Rise and Fall of Aryavarta, the Sultans of Bengal and the Reestablishment of the Magadh Mahajanpada. Documenting the history of the region following the rise of Aryavarta interspersed with a series of Bengali-Aryavartiya wars, the Golden Jihad, the disintegration of Aryavarta, the rise of Bengal and the revolt.
    • Just so you know you werent authorized so if you are some sort of republic you do not get the manpower buff from it -Feud
  • Pontus: The country continues to modernize and the missionaries of the Armenian Apostolic Church travel with Russian help toward the Russian Arcadian colonies. Missionaries travel all the way into China, preaching and healing Chinese people in need of help. Turkish refugees arrive in the Pontus and the former ambassador to Eastern Rum explains them that the Turks will have to convert to the Christian Church in order to be allowed to live within Pontus. The fleet is finished in Trebizond, but King David's health is ailing from crabs in his belly.
  • Kingdom of California: Our National Congress and King ask all parties fighting in the Azteco war of independence to have them sign the treaty of San Diego to make peace happen between the fighting parties. The King and the National Congress officially recognised the United states of brasil as an independent state free from France. The "Forças armadas nacionais" and the "Forças armadas reais" demand peace from the king in this letter "Se você, nossa majestade real, não nos dará paz no futuro próximo, então a traremos pela força. Ao forçar sua abdicação em nome da Paz" (If you, our royal majesty, will not give us peace in the near future, then we will bring it by force. By forcing your abdication on behalf of Peace). Many congressmen in the National Congress begin suggesting joining Aztlan federation as a new state to get stronger and more defended from europeans they say this in a small text "Acreditamos que juntar-se à federação azteço assegurará nossa segurança de qualquer imperialista estrangeiro, então pedimos à majestade real que permita que um acordo se junte a eles" (We believe that joining the aztlan federation will ensure our safety from any foreign imperialists so we ask the royal majesty to allow a deal to join them). Our nation after the War sees many people dead from the war and aid to Aztlan. This dissatisfies many citiziens and soldiers which makes them plan ways to make a better deal that will greaten Sinkyone soul in the country.
  • Papal States: The Council of Vasiligrad is off to a slow start, but Innocent IX remains confident that his proposals will be accepted. Missions continue, especially in Zulu, Uluru, and Western Arcadia.
  • Jaffarid Sultanate: Nothing really happens this year.
    • Eastern Anatolia: Sultan Taaha al-Hai doesn't agree to the Turkish refugees having to convert to Christianity, and still allows them to live in Eastern Rum, as a means of them being able to choose their own religion and now have to face persecution.
    • Iran: Citizens are annoyed.
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Gravd Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day affairs. The Dravidian population rose to about 53.6 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kollam and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the south; primarily due to the rapid urbanization and that these cities faced. This inflow of manpower allowed the Empire to rapidly expand upon its fishery, pearl, shipbuilding and tea industries, key businesses for those residing in coastal towns and port cities. It was agriculture though that served as Dravidia's largest economic focus, selling such goods as rice, wheat, maize, potatoes, indigo, opium, wheat, cannabis and other crops to European merchants as well as those from other states. Amongst these cash crops, jute and muslin in particular served as the most important exports given the general need for them in Europe. Meanwhile, the Dravidian navy experimented on new larger classes of steam engine ships, churning out first rate ships for various fleets, and more third rates, and fourth rates with the occasional second rate to augment the smaller patrol fleets with the majority of the imperial navy harboured at the Kollam, Vizhingam and Mangalore ports. Along the same time, a standardized army of roughly 60,000 men existed with an additional 100,000 conscripts to defend the state from any foreign invasion with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Mysore. Apart from the national army, an Imperial Guard was also propped up, mainly to protect the Monarch and his household from any threat. As such, quite a bit of importance was given to the production of firearms and gunpowder, with Mysore soon becoming the epicentre of the Dravidian arms and rocket industry. Besides the firearms, the infantry was also equipped with daggers and swords to be utilised in close combat against the enemy. Along the same time, the Dravidian Renaissance was in full swing with pan-dravidian movements such as the Young Dravidia movement established that espoused rationalism and atheism as the common denominators of civil conduct amongst the educated masses. The British emissaries that arrived at the Dravidian court were treated with respect with the Emperor soon befriending one of them, Sir Robert Clive. Meanwhile, the military and the naval forces began preparing for war in secret against a particular enemy, with the military marching through Jagdalpur and deploying at Nagpur, both states that had been acquired recently and finally annexed this year.
The Army of Northern Malindi faces the army of Zakia in battle at Bardera. While they fough to a stalemate, the Oromo cavalry sudenly arrived, crashing into the Royalist flank. The Royalist army, shattered, was forced to retreat. After a grueling return back home, only around 20,000 men remained. However, on their way back they began raiding tactics, burning down farms, destroying infrastructure and freeing slaves to spite the Northern Fundamentalists. With the great defeat at Bardera, Royalist Swahili realises there wouldn't be a quick end to the war and plans to take the defensive around the river Tana. Plans begin to launch a naval invasion on Qamar first to destroy the Fundamentalists forces there. The blockade of the fundamentalists continues. A new army is slowly raised to replace the shattered army of Northern Malindi. Despite the grand victory, Fundamentalist Swahili suffered a defeat economically, as much of the Juba River Valley has been raided and burned, especially the crops before harvest season. While there were enough stores to prevent famine, small scale food riots occurred, especially with the blockade which prevented food imports. Zakia formulates an offensive plan to lessen the toll on Fundamentalist farmers and agricultural nobility. Meanwhile, Qamar continues the construction of ships to break the blockade. The Christian Regiment, named the Gospel Division, is sent to Ibo.
    • Lakshadweep: The island of Lakshadweep continues development.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: Royalist Swahili also proposes a trade agreement with Dravidia and sends many wares and several animals from the zoo as a gesture of goodwill.
    • Dravidian Diplomacy: The Swahili are informed that there will be no trade agreement of any sort unless all of the Lakshadweep islands are transfered to Dravidia.
  • Belkan Federation: The development along the Danube and Sava Rivers continues with more and more businesses and factories opening up. Vidin being the most dominant non-modern city/town to see factories opened up sees a project undertaken to modernize the Sewage and water systems so as to prevent further disease and other issues. On top of this the townships near Belgrad, Vidin, Zagreb, and Ljubljana begin to expand. Trieste now becoming more and more focused as a major trade port become a primary port which belkan manufactured goods are exported. The population of Belka breaches 18.8 million and growing fast. The first wide scale usage of more affordable medicine and care allows for a much higher infant survivability rate.
    • Empire of Ethiopia: The emperor of Ethiopia Orders more weapons and Uniforms to be Made for the Army, and Sends an Expeditionary Force to explore unclaimed/unexplored territory.
  • Iberia: With our crushing defeat in Aztlan, the morale of the Iberian Empire is hit hard. Historians will see this as the end of the "1st Iberian Empire". King Joao II's popularity begins to diminish. Several Iberian writers begin writing of Iberia's defeat and a need for change in Iberia's culture. They become known as the Generation of 87. They write more and more about Iberia's autocratic monarchy, failing colonial empire, and backwards, almost medieval ways. Iberia also reflects that now, Aztlan, their major penal colony, is gone, so they begin searching for a new place to make a colony. King Joao II settles on West Africa, a place where Iberia already has significant trade influence. Meanwhile, the effects of the Generation of 87 become more pronounced as more and more Iberians become unsatisfied with the current state of Iberia. King Joao II, being a traditionalist, largely doesn't listen to them, and launches a naval invasion of Dakar from our protectorate in Mali. We send 15,000 marines and 50 ships of the line to capture the city, which we do swiftly. After this, Dakar is incorporated into the Iberian Protectorate of Sunugal. Using those same troops, we launch a second invasion of the small state next to the Iberian protectorate in Sunugal using the same troops minus 5000 soldiers who stay in Dakar to keep control over it. We send even more troops to conquer the other states on the coast of Senegal. This unites the Protectorate of Sunugal as the coast of modern day Senegal. We also approach the Sultan of Seluja and ask to buy his coastal territory from him for some modern guns and a garuntee of independence. We also continue our exploration. Meanwhile, exploration of the amazon continues, as we expand 10 px along the Amazon River. We also offer to buy Peru from the French for 100,000 Reals and a non-aggression pact (French Response). We also offer to buy OTL Fremantle, Australia from Uluru for 10,000 reals and modern Iberian ship designs (Uluru Response).
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: Harvey pulls out with peace having been signed. Tarrifs remain high on imports keeping Arcadia currently as Britain's main import partner. William Symington patents improvements to the Watt steam engine. John Wilkinson launches an iron barge in the English Midlands. The first production of all-iron edge rail (for underground colliery rail transport), at Plymouth Ironworks, Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. First introduction of a plateway, underground at Sheffield Park Colliery, Yorkshire, England, by John Curr. William Chapman designs a segmental skew arch at Finlay Bridge, Naas, on the Kildare Canal in Ireland. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop to move coal from the mines and goods from the ships. The farmer's poll tax in England is raised pushing more people into cities. England has 7.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 4.3 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. The navy has 50 ships in New London, Port au Prince and the remaining divided between Bristol and Portsmouth. As the proportion of urban to rural increases due to population growth cities expand as more factories grow. Trade with Uluru grows now that they have gold with everything from fishing hooks to guns being traded. Sir Robert Clive is sent to South India to meet with its leaders and befriend them.
There maintains a large export market to Britian for cash crops and staple foods. The population is 2.9 million. John Fitch launches a 45-foot (14 m) steam-powered craft on the Delaware River. James Rumsey demonstrates a water-jet propelled boat on the Potomac.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Guyana and New Germany settle their claimed land. Patagonië expands 50 px. The designs for the Watt steam engine in use in England are figured out, and they begin replacing the older engines currently in use. In Amsterdam, the first of the "grand frigates" ordered two years ago, the SMS Bourgogne, is launched. Two of her five sisters, Constellatie and Verklaring, are also launched, with the final three of the planned class, Kinnik Rogier, State-Generaal, and Zuiderzee, scheduled to be launched next year. Meanwhile, in light of the Franco-Japanese war in the East Indies, several squadrons of warships are dispatched to Singapur. And in response to the independence movement in Malaya, negotiations are offered to be held in expanding Malayan autonomy, but it is stated that the official Burgundian position is that the Protectorate should be maintained in light of regional conflicts and instabilities.

  • China: With the population reaching new heights, anti-natalist policies are established with women encouraged to have two or three children (accounting for infant mortality) as opposed to the traditional three or four. Contraception is encouraged, with the method shifting to coitus interruptus from the traditional coitus reservatus. Periodic abstinence and abstaining from premarital sex is also encouraged. To improve soil fertility and prevent soil erosion, crop rotation is adopted. Pluviometres and compost, as well as better irrigation systems, are implemented to boost agricultural productivity and thus crop yield. Restrictions and quotas are placed upon the cultivation of cash crops (to prevent the oversaturation of respective markets), while the cultivation of grains and New World crops (in places where wet-paddy cultivation is unfeasible) is heavily encouraged. The Hukou system, restricting the movement of people from rural to urban areas, is established. Despite this, the division of labour and further commercialization continues, aided by liberalized property rights and land reform. With the agricultural surplus resulting in a pronounced labour dividend, industrial facilities are built, with the textiles, metallurgical, shipbuilding, and ammunitions industries flourishing. Gunpowder weapons such as multiple-rocket launchers and flint-lock rifles are produced en-masse in accordance with the policy of militarization. Basic sanitation and general hygiene continues to be promoted: public bathhouses, spas, latrines, and sewage systems are all built. The Eastern-rite Church participates in the Council of Vasiligrad, and moves south to Qingdao as its popularity in Korea, a historical stronghold, wanes. Confucianism is established as the state religion, and people are encouraged to convert into Confucianism. Suolong and Nangang both expand. To keep up with the increasing material demands of the colony, fire-fallow cultivation is encouraged and land is given to peasants, also incentivizing settlement to potential colonists.

The Tibetan clergy continues to administer the protectorate, with its leader, the Dalai Lama, being considered a vassal or substitute monarch.

  • The Oligarchic Republic of Magadh|The Magadh Mahajanpada: The Hemgarh University starts printing an yearbook. This year's yearbook is titled "1845 VS". The yearbook goes on: This year the council took oath on the first day of Baisakh and vowed to bring a new wave of development and prosperity to the nation. The government established Hemgarh a temporary capital, till Patliputra is renovated and reconstructed. The Hemgarh council decided to abolish internal tariffs after being advised by officials and having felt its effects in slowing down the aid efforts following the civil war. The famine has largely come to an end in the affected states. An enquiry was ordered in Baisakh which reported that "The famine was a result of the abolition of the interemediaries which led to a collapse of local administration and was also a product of the destruction of farms and godwons.' The Hemgarh Council passed three important decrees this year- Abolishing internal tariffs, Abolishing all intermediary systems and Instituting the Magadhi administration. The Hemgarh Council invested a large part of the erstwhile royal treasury into constructing canals in the Ganges, Brahmputra and Iravati (Irrawady) river systems. A mammoth project of crisscrossing the Ganges-Yamuna doab with a network of canals was ordered and is expected to be completed in 12 years time, however it faces delays are frequent. A large amount of the income of the state is diverted to the laying down of roads and setting up of serais. A road is planned to be built from Kannauj passing through Patliputra and Chittagong through the Rakhine area into Burma connecting Inwa, Taungoo and ending at the provincial capital of Bago.
  • Malaya: We would very much like to begin negotiations with Burgundy on acheiving higher autonomy, and wishes there is some room for independency and the maintainance of cordial relations. Support is displayed by a substantial amount of the Malayan population of the invasion of French Jakarta. The Royal Navy grows to keep up with the amount of militarisation within the Southeast Asian region as a whole.
  • Empire of Uluru: The great history of Uluru has now been completed, and at last officiated by Emperor Daku. After fully adopting and raised within the great knowledge and wisdom of the outside world, Daku in turn raises his own children and brothers to adopt this knoweldge as well, foresaking the more primitive ideas of previous generations. A process is initiated at the Library of Ngarridjeri to convert the entire language to a syllabry, similar to Hangul, but using the alphabet of the Murray Script instead. The Confucianist philosophy merged with the Cult of Ngintaka is completed adopted throughout the nation, now fully annexed as an absolute monarchy. Islam continues to spread in the countriside and Christianity spreads in the cities, but the Emperor remains nominally pagan to keep balance. New agriculture is adopted, mostly wheat and rice, and this is added to the farmland that continues to grow. The Council of Ngarridjeri is completed, so now the treaty is ready to be signed by its participants. A single ship sets out exploring from Eore (OTL Sydney), and spots site of an island suspected to be home of the lost rebels of Jarrah (OTL Tasmania). They explore a bit before returning home.
  • Empire of Dravidia: The Emperor of Dravidia, Haider Shah Agran continued his rule over his domain from his seat of government, the city of Hyderabad whilst his Grand Vizier, Sadullah Khan managed day-to-day affairs. The Dravidian population rose to about 53.7 million with the people flocking to cities like Mysore, Hyderabad, Tanjore, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kollam, Masulipatnam, Tirupati and Mangalore as well as various other minor cities and townships throughout the south; primarily due to the rapid urbanization. This inflow of manpower allowed the Empire to rapidly expand upon its fishery, pearl, shipbuilding, spices and tea industries, key businesses for those residing in coastal towns and port cities. It was agriculture though that served as Dravidia's largest economic focus, selling such goods as rice, wheat, maize, potatoes, indigo, opium, wheat, cannabis and other crops to European merchants as well as those from other states. Among these cash crops, jute, mulberry silk and muslin in particular served as the most important exports given the general need for them in Europe. The Dravidian navy firmly stands at 900 ships divided into two Pirivus. Along the same time, a standardized army of roughly 60,000 men existed with an additional 100,000 conscripts to defend the state from any foreign invasion with the soldiers armed with flintlock rifles, and supported by iron-cased rocket artillery, designed indigenously in the city of Tanjore. Apart from the national army, an Imperial Guard was also propped up, mainly to protect the Monarch and his household from any threat. As such, quite a bit of importance was given to the production of firearms and gunpowder, with Tanjore soon becoming the epicentre of the Dravidian arms and rocket industry. Sadullah Khan, the Grand Vizier of Dravidia officially issued a declaration of war upon the Goa Sultanate and its tributary state, the Maratha Principalities, declaring both of them to be historic Dravidian territories. Almost immediately, the Emperor Haider Shah Agran began marching towards the city of Solapur in the Goa Sultanate, leading the rearguard of an army of 300,000 men (60,000 professional), flanked by the Dravidian cavalry and supported by the artillery. The army was also accompanied by 500 rocketmen with Tanjorean rockets. Keen on displaying the strength and grandeur of the Empire to the British, the Emperor had his newly found friend Sir Robert Clive join him. As the Emperor marched towards the city of Solapur, his younger son Ziyad Shah Agran simultaneously began leading the 250,000 forces garrisoned at Nagpur towards Aurangabad. As the Marathas were vassals of the Goa Sultanate, Ziyad naturally expected the Marathi to be called for the defense of Solapur. This meant the Maratha Principalities themselves would be left vulnerable and exposed and thus if Ziyad was successful at Aurangabad, it would give his army a direct path to Pune, the beating heart of the Maratha Principalities. The 1st Pirivu dispatches two Ganams (150 ships each) to the Arabian Sea to annihilate the Goan navy and put up a blockade of Goa. Back home, Christian missionary activity resurfaces in remote areas, spreading Christianity to Dalit villages who enjoy their new found freedom in Christianity. The Church of Kollam was opened and the Bible was translated to Dravidian. The Christian missionaries spread their activities to the tribal areas. The Dakhini language spreads in usage across the territories of Jagdalpur and Nagpur. Dakhini is given the status of Second Official Language after Dravidian. Grand Vizier Sadullah Khan gives a special focus on the development of Masulipatnam. Sadullah Khan appoints Sardar Mustafa Mengal as the Vizier of Balochistan.
The Army of Zakia marched cross the River of Tana, avoiding the Army of Mombasa by moving West. They conduct a flanking maneuver to attack the cities of Malindi and Mombasa. The Army of Mombasa and the reforming army of Northern Malindi moves to face the threat. The Oromo cavalry begins raids as the two major armies are distracted. Meanwhile, the army of Quelimane is formed to retake Qamar. The Swahili fleet begins to launch an attack on major Qamarese ports to secure a bridgehead. This forced the secret fleet of Qamar to fight back and defend against the Royalist Fleet. The great battle of Mawuti begins between combined navies of the Royalist and Fundamentalist forces. While the fundamentalists caught the Royalists by surprise, utilizing fire and demolition ships to destroy multiple Swahili Frigates, the new model Ships of the Line, suited for line combat and armed with multiple cannons, were able to fight back and encircle the Qamarese fleet, destroying most of them at the end of the day. The Royalist naval invasion thus began with Royalist forces landing in Maintirano. The Gospel division also takes part in the landing.

  • United Empire of Brésil: With little to no intervention from the struggling government in France, the empire continues through its first year without interruption. During this year Emperor Nicolas remains very active. One of the first things he does is establish Imperial Ministries with permission from the Assembly. Imperial Ministries have little to no power and basically serve as advisers to the Emperor. Mostly nobles are chosen by the Emperor for this position so he can satisfy the major families throughout Brazil. Another action that took place was major amendments to the constitution. These gave the Emperor the right to appoint Imperial Ministers, gave the Grand Assembly the right to tax, and expanded the Bill of Rights. Another law is passed which defines and restricts slavery/indentured servitude. This law makes it so it cannot technically be for life, and you cannot be born into it. Nicolas continues to dedicate most of the budget to the military and building up the navy. Parades are thrown in the capital during the one year anniversary of the nation. The court continues to try loyalists.
  • Iberia (WIP): King Joao II dies, supposedly of depression, and his son, Prince Pedro I, takes the throne. Pedro I seeks to bring Iberia out of its stagnation and into the future. He opens up colonization of areas to groups of wealthy Iberian nobles. A poet, part of the Generation of 87, named Jose Kaplin, writes a poem about "Civilization" and a how although Iberia lost Aztlan, they successfully civilized the native Aztecs to form their own civilization. Kaplin states that the mission of colonization should not be for greed or profit, but to civilize the world. Prince Pedro also forms several committees of Iberian nobles known as companies to take charge of various aspects of government infrastructure, in exchange they are supposed to make these establishments more profitable. The protectorate of Sunugal is expanded, filling out that small black space between the former states of Senegal. Prince Pedro makKing Pedro also sends an envoy to Seluja, offering them to become a protectorate in exchange for being given modern weaponry and Iberian protection (Seluja Response). Many Iberians also begin wanting to reclaim Morocco which was once an integral part of Iberia from the "uncivilized Muslims"
  • Kingdom of Truwonna: Several canoes spot a ship passing by the island and see it flying an Uluruan flag. They make several observations and bring them back to the head engineer for the Kingdom. Black fever continues to grow as more and more of the native people and wildlife are decimated. More Emus continue to be farmed as well as ochre. King Bakan announces a new rule that all able bodied nobles must have at least five children. This helps population growth and a new class of Anengaian-Palawan mixed people begin to emerge as an underclass to the nobles. The King launches an expedition around the island to conquer its coasts, which have become virtually uninhabited due to the devastating black fever. Forts are set up all along the coasts and the King claims the interior of the island as part of his Kingdom.
  • Empire of Japan: With the reconquest of Nagasaki last year we send 100,000 troops, 25,000 of which are conscripts to Jakarta as reinforcements, where we have under 125,000 troops and 1350 ships in the original invasion. Massive celebrations are held as Nagasaki is reconquered from France as well as the conquest of Turnate, meanwhile, with the dissolution of the Ququququ government, we officially subjectate this year, and it will be de facto part of the Empire next year after the transitionary period.
  • Jaffarid Arabia: Sultan Rasool, while taking a tour around Persia as a means of making sure the state remains as militarized as it is meant to be, is assassinated by Quraish al-Salloum, a member of the Persian Resistance Movement, a network of terrorists whom main goals are to overthrow the Jaffarid Dynasty and liberate Persia from Arabia's grasp. Quraish is properly killed following this, however, a large group of citizens carrying various weaponry, begin attacking the Royal Guard until they are all killed. This becomes one the largest stories published in Fox News, and promptly causes a general disarray among the House of Jaffar. The military, standing at around 20,000 during this time, are moved into Tehran as a means of stopping the revolution from leaking into the rest of Iran. The Siege of Tehran, as it is called, brings about the near destruction of the city by the time it is finished, and although suffering over 12,000 casualties, the Iranian revolutionaries are successful in properly fleeing from Tehran and establishing an enclave somewhere in the mountains surrounding Tehran. The military, by the end of the year, are proven to have reached 50,000. The Persian Resistance Movement had begun a chain of events where large revolts begin in smaller villages where there is an Arabian military presence. Arhab el-Ghaffari is selected as the next Sultan and for the moment, meant to stay at his palace until further notice.

  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Patagonië expands 50 px. Ships surveying New Holland discover an uninhabited island off the continents northwest coast (otl Bathurst island). Coming ashore there, the men claim it for Burgundy, calling it Sint Maarten. The grand frigates Kinnik, Staten-Generaal, and Zuiderzee, the last three of the class ordered three years ago, are launched. Initial exercises with the first three grand frigates, Bourgogne, Constellatie, and Varklaring, prove to exceed expectations, as the ships are capable of traditional frigates maneuverability and speed while outclassing those ships in firepower and survivability

The city of Erfurt becomes a thriving town for the rich there. many people flock to the area to walk beautiful brick roads and to shop in stores and things like that living a calm life. A militaristic training center is constructed in Elleben to start training new recruits. A council is being worked upon in order to be created and to allow a more democratic way of living which should consist of 30 high ranked officials across the nation but will take some time to adjust. Conscriptions are being worked on to recruit young men to be a part of the Saxon army with 8300 joining this year. Near the Rhine, farms are built and irrigation systems begin to be designed. Sewer systems begin to be worked upon in densely populated areas with clean water pumping also becoming more of a key factor as Otto I begins to work on how to be able to have 90% of the population has access to water by the time he succumbs to age. Equipment such as swords become more and more worked upon with many being created in iron workshops for military usage with flintlock guns and ammunitions also being worked on. Cavalry and the general army of Saxony begin to be trained to become professional troops to better their abilities within combat. With all of this said, Otto I celebrates his birthday this year in his palace and invites even the some of the public to meet in person but of course with high security. A firework festival is held at the end of the year for the new year as it has become a sort of tradition to light off explosives close to the palace to show off a splendid light show.
  • Swiss Confederacy: Bern, the current Vorort of the Confederacy, calls a Tagsatzung to order. The topic? Whether or not Friboug and Valais, two cantons long awaiting membership, will became a member of the confederacy. After long deliberation, the move just barley passes, and the cantons are indited. This causes anger amongst the northern cantons, as they fear this will prompt them from having to prop up the new cantons during economic hardship.

  • Empire of California: With the coup Over now and the "Forças armadas nacionais" and the "Forças armadas reais" Loyal to General Antonio O Cavalo are defeated in battle by being completely serounded with superior numbers and weapons and a great moral. Even with defeating the Coup the country became weaker then even before with many generals having to be punished and many others stepping down from their post. The worst was that Emperor Philipe I was wounded in battle and lost his left leg due to a bullet and the infection coming from the bullet. This makes him looks strong but he does know from his own that. Coups will be posible to happen more often if the nation does not gain a better and stronger army which isn't possible in any way. Except by joining the Aztlan Federation and getting enough power to reform it as the state of Grande Califórnia. So with these thoughts he officialy asks the Aztlan fedaration if the Empire of California can become a State of the Aztlan Federation and which will be shown in the Treaty of Diltwa Wituye.(mod response)
  • The Magadh Mahajanpada: The book, The Rise and Fall of Aryavarta, the Sultans of Bengal and the Reestablishment of the Magadh Mahajanpada becomes a bestseller, widely used by the newly appointed administration. An extract from this year's yearbook 1846 Vikram Samvat reads |A new member of the council took oath on the 26th day of Baisakh, Rewat Sachdeva. The exams for the new administration were conducted nation-wide in the month of Jyeshtha. Some 432 yuvaks (young men) were handpicked by the councilmen for the administration and were appointed in an elaborate swearing-in ceremony held in front of the Parishad Sadan(Chamber of the Council). The exams were based on the Laws of Manu and the Arthashastra. The administrators are being trained in the Raj Bhavan by the council members themselves. Riots occurred in Hastinapur in the month of Shrawan over food shortages. The Arya Samaj was established in Hemgarh by Councilman Rewat Sachdeva to further social change and spread the 'Hemgarh' ideology of atheism, materialism, empiricism and philosophical skepticism. Work on the irrigation systems continued throughout the year. The road running from Patliputra to Bago is christened Poorvi Marg by Councilman Zail Singh who died later this year. General Zail Singh was succeeded by General Narapati. The Council nationalised small banks and lending houses into a single bank, headed by Councilman Rewat Sachdeva in the month of Bhadra. A military tussle between the armies of Gwalior and Magadh ensued in which 12 guards of the Magadh army were killed. The border skirmish prompted a Magadhi military response following a declaration of war on Gwalior in a speech by Councilman Anirrudh Chauhan on Dhaka. General Narapati commanded a force of 100,000 (60,000 professional), storming the Gwalior fort.| Vajrayana Buddhism spreads from the areas in Northern Assam to the tribal areas in eastern Assam where the Vajrayana Buddhists seek the tribals living in the dense jungles. A society of Vajrayana scholars is set up in Chittagong. The shipbuilding industry develops and so do the tea plantations. Small amounts of spice are exported while the main exports are Indigo, Opium and Cotton. Export of textiles has seen a dip and high tariff rates have been imposed to save the textile industry. Internal demand for textiles grows with a growth in the consumption of tea. A new product, Shampoo enters the Magadhi market and becomes widely popular. Its use spreads to the villages and is used by everyone due to its affordability. Soon new and twisted varieties of shampoos come to be produced. European and Asian merchants also show interest in this new product.
  • Italian League: Rebuilding of the military is still underway, hastened by the recent war. Trento and Bozen are heavily fortified as they were before the war. We make communications with Lombardy, Savoy, and the other states of northern Italy asking them to peacefully resume the deal that we had before the Belkan invasion, noting that we created Lombardy and gave them their independence, and we can protect them further. In other news we launch an invasion of Sicily to quickly readmit them to vassal status. Considering the current king was/is pro-League we ask that they diplomatically rejoin to avoid bloodshed.

Along the same time, the Dravidian Renaissance was in full swing with pan-Dravidian movements such as the Young Dravidia movement established that espoused rationalism and atheism as the common denominators of civil conduct amongst the educated masses. As was expected, the Goan's suffered a major loss at the Battle of Solapur, losing 18,000 men and being forced into a frenzy retreat back to Kolapur. With that particular city being the last Goan line of defense before their capital of Ratnagiri was in sight, it meant the beginning of the end for Goa's Sultanate had started. As such, after spending a little more than a week to tend to the wounded and the afflicted, the Dravidian army (under the Emperor) now numbering 270,000 men soon began marching towards Kolapur, hoping to finally crush the Goans. Meanwhile, the Siege of Aurangabad dragged on with the forces under Ziyad suffering 32,500 losses, a considerably large sum when compared to the meagre 7500 Maratha casualties. Fortunately, as humiliating as the losses were for the Dravidians, they could nonetheless still afford to take them. The same could not be said for the Maratha's who were fighting with all that they had and for whom even a single death mattered. Perhaps this could be their undoing as Ziyad maliciously hatched a plan, raising a 150,000 levies from the Deccan and marching them right past Aurangabad and onwards towards Pune. As most of the Maratha soldiers were either retreating to Kolapur with the Goans or trapped at Aurangabad, it meant the city of Pune was lightly defended and essentially ripe for the taking. Ziyad was also well aware of the importance of Pune for the Maratha's, and thus he mischieviously allowed information concerning the operation to enter into Aurangabad, hoping to frustrate the Maratha's and force them into launching a counter-assault to break the siege. Eventually it came as no surprise that the Maratha's did just that and as soon as they opened the gates of the city, 167,500 Dravidian soldiers swarmed inside, breaching through the defenses as the fighting shifted various quarters of the city.
  • Swahili:We continue our agriculture policies and adapt more plants to the Swahili climate. We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The Army of Zakia continues its march, meeting the army of Northern Malindi at Kitui. However, after beating away the Fundamentalist Army, the Royalist army realises they were only fighting a 10,000 strong bait army, as the main army of Zakia has decided on a bid to destroy the heartland of Royalist Swahili. They immediately sends the news as well as march South to intercept. The Oromo cavalry moves again, reaching the Serengeti in front of the army of Zakia. A new army is raised in Zanzibar as a last ditch attempt to prevent Zakia's forces from wreaking havoc to the city and surrounding areas. The Army of Quelimane marches through Qamar, advancing on their capital of Antananarivo. In the Battle of Saka, 50,000 Royalist soldiers faced off over 100,000 Qamarese soldiers and militias. While outnumbering the Royalist, the Qamarese armies were divided and a small detachment, led by the Gospel Division, held off 40,000 Qamarese men for four days in the mountain passes Andolofotsy, allowing the main Royalist army to destroy the Qamarese army and reinforce the detachment. Antananarivo falls near the end of the year and the army of Quelimane is sent to pacify the rest of the island. The general incharge of the Qamarese campaigns, Nabalo, develops an artillery strategy: concentrating all cannons of the army for a grand battery.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continue development.
    • Huriya: Swahili culture is brought by merchants and diplomats. The economy is slowly integrated into that of Royalist Swahili following the facilitation of trade through roads and the influence of Swahili merchants.

    • Swahili Diplomacy to Dravidia: We propose an alliance and trade agreement with Dravidia.
    • Swahili Diplomacy to Magadh: We propose an alliance with Magadh.
  • Belkan Federation: The Belkan Federation holds elections once again this year with Milosevic retaining his position as the Vozdh. Going from 60,000 just a decade and a half ago to nearly 300,000 and becoming an economic powerhouse becoming one of the most attractive cities to live in in the entire country. Outside of this Tunis and Krete also see lots of expanding population and Tunis in General finally unveils its arsenal and naval yards being able to house many ships and support a massive force of almost 100,000 domestically. The Garrison as a reasult is increased to 50,000 and plans are made.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain:  Tarrifs remain high on imports keeping Arcadia currently as Britain's main trading partner partner. To keep pushing up agricultural production more land is drained of water to access more farm lands. As part of mercantilism policies coal is taxed heavily if sold abroad. There is a continued growth in industry of textiles, iron manufacture and further construction of canals to allow the movement of raw materials such as coal and food. More coal mines open up to fuel the growing production of steelworks. James Watt's steam engine now powers an increasingly large number of coal mines pumping. Rev. Dr. Edmund Cartwright patents his first practical power loom in England and designs a wool combing machine. William Wouldhave demonstrates a self-righting rescue lifeboat on the River Tyne in England. The canal system is expanded as new cities develop to move coal from the mines and goods from the ships. The raise in farmer's poll tax is halted but more people continue to move to cities as they struggle under the burden. This causes an increase in investment in farming as the land has to be worked more labour efficiently. England has 7.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.7 million, Ireland has 4.5 million people and Scotland 1.2 million. The agreement the British have with the Uluru is also carried out. Sir Robert Clive continues to befriend the Emperor of Southern India.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: Taking into account the revolutionary fervour in the New World, three independent states all with the King of Britain as their King are established. The monarch's titles are expanded to King of Avalon, Iroqois and Savannah separately with Avalon being north of the Great Lakes and Savannah being everything south of the Roanoke river. These three kingdoms each have their own established Parliaments and cabinets separating them from the British parliament and sovereignty while the king maintains the right to appoint the cabinet but must still work with each of their parliaments. The three different kingdoms are all quite different due to different makeup of peoples and economies. To avoid the British raising tarrifs on their exports. Each of the three kingdoms maintain a free trade status with Britain while restrict trade to other European powers. The Kingdom of Savannah continues to expand westwards 50 px from the Mander (Tennessee River) towards the Mecipici reaching the Iberian borders. The Kingdom of Avalon expands 50 px west towards Lake superior. The winter is an issue as some crops produce less yields but with the market for cotton rapidly expanding this does not deter farmers from trying to get more farms and pushing westwards in the search for water. The three Kingdom's still rely on their militia because of the size of the lands they hold There maintains a large export market to Britain for cash crops and staple foods especially cotton as the British cotton industry is rapidly growing. The population of Avalon is 0.7 million, Iroquois has 1.3 million and Savannah has 1.0 million.
  • Swiss Confederacy: Tensions begin to mound as the Cantons of Bern, Fribourg, Valais, Uri, and the Three Leagues are dividing with Zug, Zurich, Unterwalden, Lucerne, Schwyz, and Glarus divide politically on many issues, including trade, leadership, and continued rule of the HRE. The former is rather liberal, and they want a closer federation between the cantons and less rule from HRE (some even going as far as to propose leaving it all together) while the latter groups are more conservative and want the established lose confederacy with continued HRE rule. Nothing outside of politics so far.
    • Late in the year, the Three Leagues unite to form Grisons, with it's capital being Chur.
  • Papal States: Whilst the Council of Vasiligrad hums along basically unnoticed in the background, things continue as normal in the Papal States. Pope Innocent IX writes to Ethiopia in response to the diplomacy they sent some years ago. His Holiness tells the Ethiopians he is glad to renew the formerly friendly relations between the two states, and urges the Emperor to continue the work his forebears began in bringing the Coptic Church into the fold of the Universal Church. The military is improved. Missions continue, and especial emphasis is given to Zulu, Uluru, and Western Arcadia.
    • The Emperor of Ethiopia: Joshua The First (Named after the Joshua in the Bible) rights Back to the pope in excitement,He tells the pope that he continues to Integrate the Coptic Church with the Universal Church and to Convert All of Great Ethiopia To Christianity, He also Requests A Economic alliance between Ethiopia and The Holy See.
