What if Garibaldi failed in 1861 to make Italy united? So, the Italian peninsula would be a mix of states.

Chrono History:

  1. Giuseppe Garibaldi and Camillo Benso asked too many governors of countries (in OTL North Italy Regions' provinces) if they could unify each other to form Italy, but their answer was no.
  2. Garibaldi, the Count of Cavour and Giuseppe Mazzini went in Teano (TTL South Italy, OTL Province of Caserta, Campania, Italy) to ask Victor Emmanuel II of Turin if he wanted to unify Turin with Italy, but his answer was still no.
  3. Camillo Benso went in the four nations of Piedmont to unify the four countries successfully, Mazzini moved to Pisa until his death, leaving Giuseppe alone. Garibaldi, disappointed by the answers and the failed project of unifying all the countries in the Italian Peninsula, came back to Nice, France (TTL and OTL).

I am also okay with you making minor edits, such as spelling or grammar corrections; but I would prefer that nobody other than me make major additions or revisions.
