The 1928 Presidential Election was the 36th quadrennial presidential election, held on Thursday, November 6, 1928

Democratic Candidate Al Smith, who had serving as the Governor of New York since 1929, defeated Republican Candidate, Herbert Hoover, whom had served as the Secretary of Commerce under President Cox and Davis

Smith won the Electoral Vote with a EV Count of 274-255 and won the Popular Vote Margin with Smith having secured 25.2 million Votes while Hoover secured 24.2 Million Votes.

Smith would be sworn in as the 31st President of the United States along with Arkansas Senator Charles Curtis being sworn in as the 32nd Vice-President of the United States on January 20th 1929.
