The New French Government begins re-militarzation and re-arming.

  • Indian Empire: Queen Farah Shah was proclaimed the Empress of India in 1888, starting a new era. The Indian population rose to about 441,772,000, and the flocking of the people to coastal cities continued, with a mass increase of population in Kolkata, Mahmudpur, Karachi, Mumbai, Surat and various other minor cities and townships throughout the state. The Indian army, equipped with semi-modern armaments stood at 720,000 troops with an additional 250,000 reserves whilst the Imperial Guard was composed of 20,000 troops and the armament industry thrived on local and national level, with armaments rarely imported from foreign nations. The Indian navy experimented on ironclads and had started production of larger classes of steam engine ships, churning out first rate ironclads for various fleets, and more third rates, and fourth rates with the occasional second rate to augment the smaller patrol fleets with 40% of the national navy harboured at the Andaman and Kolkata ports. In agriculture was the largest economic focus of India, exporting various crops to foreign nations with the international jute and cotton textile production largely under Indian control. Along the same time, the Indian Renaissance were in full swing, with movements such as the Young India movement having aided in national modernisation and a massive rise in literacy and education, with major developments in Chemistry, Physics, Biology etc. Moreover, promotion of industrialisation and capitalism allowed the Imperial authorities to construct a Trans-National Railway, connecting the entire Empire as well as introduction of many other commodities such as telephones, bulbs, electricity. India develops its third bomber plane, the IA-82 and works on the Agni III. Along the same time, companies producing military weapons start to grow throughout India.
    • Khedivate of Bahamani: The Capital of Bahamani was Hyderabad and the population was 70.2 million. The Bahamani military was modernised, standing at roughly 80,000, with 15% of the national navy harboured at Bahamani ports. The Bahamani port cities of Mahmudpur played a major role in international trade due to its strategic position, competing against Caliphates ports. In the economic sector, rice played the role as a major food crop to be exported. However, other important crops such as cotton, sugarcane, mango and tobacco maintained a major presence in Bahamanis exports as well. About the same time, the Bahamani textile and fishery industries reached new heights.
    • Khedivate of Udaipur: The Capital of Udaipur was Ahmadabad and the population was 50.8 million. The Udaipuri military was modernised, standing at roughly 160,000, with 20% of the national navy harboured at Bahamani ports. The Udaipuri port cities of Karachi and Surat played a major role in international trade due to their strategic position, competing against Caliphates ports. In the economic sector, wheat played the role as a major food crop to be exported. However, other important crops such as rice, cotton, cotton and ruits maintained a major presence in Udaipurs exports as well. About the same time, the Udaipur fishery, sugar and leather industries were of significant importance as well.
    • Khedivate of Vijaynagar: The Capital of Vijaynagar was Coimbatore and the population was 30.4 million. The Vijaynagari military was modernised, standing at roughly 120,000 with 15% of the national navy harboured at Vijaynagari ports. The Vijaynagari port city of Chennai played a major role in international trade due to its strategic position, competing against Lankan ports. In the economic sector, rice played the role as a major food crop to be exported. However, other important crops such as tea, sugarcane, mango and tobacco maintained a major presence in Vijaynagars exports as well. About the same time, the Vijaynagari fishery and leather industries were of significant importance as well.
    • Khedivate of Aceh Darrusalam: The Capital of Aceh was Banda and the population was 13.5 million. The Aceh military was modernised, standing at roughly 30,000 with 10% of the national navy harboured at Aceh ports. In the economic sector, rice played the role as a major food crop to be exported. However, other important crops such as tea, sugarcane, mango and tobacco maintained a major presence in Aceh's exports as well. About the same time, the Aceh fishery, oil and mining industries were of significant importance as well. Major oil and gas reserves are discovered by Spanish and Indian experts in Aceh, who collaborate on the project as per the Treaty of Hague. With the arrival of the Juan Standardo Oilo Company, extraction of the oil begins. Indian geological experts continue to seek out oil deposits, as it is assumed that Aceh has potential for being rich in oil.
    • Indian Overseas Territories: Naval bases continue to be built to enforce claims on several islands such as Mauritius, Seychelles, Tromelin and Reunion. The Indian Navy attempted to enforce complete control over the Indian Ocean, aggressively patrolling the sea to combat Somalian pirates.
    • Indian - Croatian Diplomacy: The Empire of India requests the Ban Republic of Croatia to return the enclave of Goa to Indian authorities in order to fulfill the Imperial Edict of 1907.
  • Korea: Korea continues to build up its military. Meanwhile, more Taoist and Buddhist temples are built. Taoism rises in popularity and gains more followers. Regular (read: not Imperial) Shinto gains a few more followers as well, mainly along the coastline in Southeastern Korea, particularly in Busan, Jejudo, Ulsan, and the coastal cities and coastal towns of Southern Gyeongsang Province. Mahayana Tao-Shintoism also continues to grow, and begins gaining followers from the areas where Shinto is growing, with some Shintoists switching to Mahayana Tao-Shintoism. The military in the colony of Haejagang (해자강) continues to be on high alert and continues to heavily patrol the Korean settlements. Meanwhile, industrialisation and modernisation continues in Korea (similar to OTL Japan's Meiji Restoration). Monarch Hyomyeong continues investing in technology and science. The Hyundai Motor Company continues to build more cars.
  • Borealia Flag 2 Union of Borealia: Both the economy and military improve across all the provinces of the Union. The thriving industries now run entirely on petroleum, procured from the oil collected from Alaska and California. While the traditional hearts of each city, particularly New Vienna, continue to reflect the same idyllic Baroque style, newer expansions to these urban centers are packed with factories and other industrial equipment. Cities recently built in southern California and northern Alaska are much more developed, as some parts of the Kiatagmiut province are almost unrecognizable. The economy of the Union stems from the exportation of natural resources. San Francisco and Mamterlliq continue to be the main centers of the gold trade, while oil wells begin to speckle the coastal range of California. More oil wells are built in Upper Alaska, bringing entrepreneurs to that region. Large monopolies on lumber and animal products are also prevalent in Santiago and Pannenstiel. All of these businesses are connected with diesel trains that span the continent. As the various earlier philosophies continue to grow and factionalize, these turn into competing ideas that promote further progression and ingenuity from the younger generation. Films in color are becoming more popular. Electrical power continues to spread, although one scientist claims to have created better light by conducting gas. A theory of quanta is developed to explain phenomenon as smaller levels, and more theories follow to develop machines at this level. Scientist Wilhelm Dunkhullta successfully fissions a single atom this year. Tanks continue being developed. X-rays are being used to interpret internal injuries. Airplanes begin being built on the Remen design in Pannenstiel. We continue to uphold the New Munich Declaration along with Algonquia, Reme, Mexaca, and Arcadia. An organization for promoting peace in the Pacific is established, whose members currently include Korea, China and Ayutthaya. As more industrial goods continue to pour in from Reme, Borealian entrepreneurs begin selling more oil, gold, lumber, and livestock to the East Coast. Industrial goods are sent to Brazil and China to improve their respective economies. The Gothic movement reunites in favor of this compromise, although certain extremist remain suspicious of Germany going back on their word again. Most feel like this is a step toward ending Borealian imperialism. The Curia holds Germany to its agreement in the Treaty of Dandiri
    • The State of Australia: The state greatly increases this year by beginning joint control over the colony of New Mecklenburg, provided by Germany on the provision of ceding the whole colony by 1938. The capital of the state is centered at Dandiri (OTL Brisbane), which administer over all land settlements and the Luwrit Sea (OTL Tasman Sea). Schools and media centers are established that teach Borealianist philosophy along with essential education. Supplies and engineers are continually sent to the Timor Sultanate to improve their industry. Settlements begin to grow around the Lake Eyre region. The natives of Australia are pleased to learn of their coming independence. However, seeing the unprovoked military mobilization on Germany's part last year, Australia demands monetary reparations from Germany.
    • The Commonwealth of Oceana: Naval bases continue being built to enforce claims on several islands (from OTL Palau to Fiji). A major naval base is constructed on the Island of Midway in the Republic of Hawaii. Another major naval base is constructed in Fiji to complement the base on Midway. Exploration of West Antarctica continues. The nation considers expanding the Treaty of Midway over the waters within the Luwrit Sea. Military from Borealia is convoyed to these islands.
    • Colony of Kinshasa: With the incorporated French colony, continues to expand its lumber and mining companies with cheap labor picked up from surrounding natives. An organized government forms along with some small villages. The border expands inward 750 px.
    • Colony of North Antarctica: A small base is established on Antarctica's northernmost peninsula, inhabited only six months of the year. A lighthouse begins construction to aid shipping that travels south of Cape Horn.
  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: The economy has improved somewhat in the past two years, with things not as desperate as they once were. The government supports the negotiated end to the Australian Crisis but does not think that reparations are due to the State of Australia. The mobilisation was rather reminiscent to Borealia's own mobilisation during the War, and as such, the government does not think reparations are in order. This is, however, just the opinion of the Duchy's Landtag, not official German policy, and it should not be taken as such. The Crisis has caused a spike in popularity for the Patriotic Front, which denounces the wartime agreement as being forced upon Germany whilst it was nobly fighting the Communists, and thus invalid. The party also points out the immense hypocrisy of Borealia's position. In the words of the PF's surprisingly eloquent leader, Bastian Hoppe; "Borealia dares to lecture Germany for 'wishing to keep its colonies' whilst Borealia clings with iron grip to its own colonies in Africa and the Pacific! They preach freedom whilst imperialising to their heart's content. I am ashamed to acknowledge them as scions of the German race." The Government, from Duke Wilhelm II down, strongly denounces the PF's view as extremist, telling Borealia's ambassadors that the PF is an extremist fringe minority, whose words should be given no weight, as well as reaffirming their commitment to the negotiated solution. [Note: I included the PF's view for the purposes of developing my domestic politics] In other news, some of the Spitzbergen coal mines reopen, now under national management.
  • Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: The government goes into crisis management mode, doing everything within its power to assure and reassure Algonquia of its feelings of goodwill toward them, and that the Australia Crisis was a mere difference of opinion solely between Germany and Borealia, which has now been smoothed over by the peaceful negotiations. the Council of the Beothuk Autonomous Territory are somewhat bemused by the re-founding of the Beothuk National Front, asking, "What more could they want? We have won all of the advantages of sovereignty, without the burdens of independence!" In other news, the hydroelectric dam in Western Neu Norderney is nearing completion.
    • Algonquia feels regrettably little trust for Germany's assurances, since it has shown a willingness to break bilateral agreements whenever it sees benefit in it. The Beothuk Nationalist Front's leaders point out that the amnesty or the recent agreements that established an autonomous territory are now effectively invalid, since Germany could break them at the drop of a hat.
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. With the increase of factories in the nation, more jobs are beingcreated. The employment rate has continued to increase in the nation. Agriculture is the best industry in the nation. The railway industry is continuing to work on improving the tracks. Doctors are now continuing to use X-rays to see the inside of people. Cars are now becoming popular with the middle class people, and not just the rich society. Trade goes well with the Roman Empire. The navy continues to make ships for trade and for future tensions. We continue to build many buildings like hospitals, colleges and banks. This is the ninth straight year we slowly annex Sardinia into our nation. We send more troops to Sardinia to make sure that it does not fall to the French.
  • Republic of China: Recent polling reports a lead for the Chinese Nationalist Party, scaring the ruling Conservative Party, which decides to create a minimum wage, the equivalent of £5 today. We invade Tibet, with no response yet received from Japan or India. We ask for an alliance with Borealia, in case Japan attaks us. We condemn the aggressive French remilitarisation, asking for it not to attack any countries. Meanwhile, we offer bailout for the countries in China that are struggling, asking for them to aid us in war with Tibet.
  • Roman Empire: The Roman Empire continues to recover from the shock of the Great War, in which many good Romans died. The Empire also focuses on its internal security and stability after noticing the power of the revolt in Africa and remembering painful memories of revolts in Italy and Egypt. Economic and civic policy are seen as key to improving stability and cohesiveness in the Empire. With that said, the Empire does have several foreign policy successes to note as well, mainly the unification of the Tartary and the return of order in the steppes. Trade continues to go well and the military continues to have a major part of Roman society, and new weapons like tanks, planes, and better submarines now play a significant role in the way the Empire wages war. The financial crisis affects the Empire badly, and the economy suffers and many go without work. The current administration works to help mediate the crisis even though it knows its days are numbered. The civil war in the caliphate forces the Empire and its ally Assyria to be on guard. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border. In foreign affairs, the Roman government criticizes the invasion of Tibet by China, saying that the Chinese are invading a country that has done nothing to them. In addition, the Imperial government criticizes Germany's decision to revoke the agreement with Borealia. However, the Imperial government also warns that Borealia's ultimatum increases the chance of war and suggests returning to the table.
  • Reme: Reme begins to build up its military and economy. Reme elects a new president and starts to build up its navy. Meanwhile, trade is improved on, with industrialization, mainly former Byzantine areas slowly being introduced to populous areas. Lumber, cash crops, and other goods become a major export of Reme, and starts getting Reme a jump-start into the European economy. There is also the creation of New navy ships, to help modernize the Reman navy. Coal mines are built, and starts churning out coal at a consistent rate. Coal mining plants are also started to be upgraded. Reme also starts very slowly changing its focus to industrial things, with a nationwide railroad being considered to be built. Industrialization of river areas continue, as well as the production of textiles to cheaper the price of Reman cotton. Meanwhile, a Socialist-based party starts to gain seats in parliament, with plans to make Reme a more self-sufficient state. People are getting anxious over the threat of Communism to Reme, and vote on the crackdown of Communist sympathizers and their families. The Reman government is pleased that Pearl River has voted to join the Empire, and promises that their rights and property will be maintained. The Reman military is improved a bit in an effort to hold up its part of the Fraternal Alliance. The economy suffers a great deal, and as a result the Socialists and outlawed Communists get a bit too eager in their expression that they have the correct answer, resulting in many demonstrations and some riots.
    • Protectorate of Wolof: Wolof begins to build up its military and economy. Reman food and supplies come in to help the formerly starving nation, as well as the Reman military to help sustain order. Some representation is given in the Reman Parliament, to give Wolof a minimal say in how Reme should be run. Meanwhile, plans to industrialize the coastal areas as well as plans for fortifications are presented, and are started being worked on.
  • Commonwealth States (Bavaria): We continue to develop our military and economy. We attempt to improve relations with France, and support the return of Sardinia to France after years of Lombard annexation. We also offer French citizens in Alsace-Lorraine, owned by Germany, to have more autonomy.
  • Algonquia suffers from the economic downturn, with the Centrists losing control of the government to the Transitional Communists yet again. The Algonquia populace is, although generally left-wing, also very anti-Arcadian, so aid is sent to Reme to help suppress the Arcadian revolts. Submarines continue to be produced in large numbers, technology having advanced considerably, while major public works are undertaken to provide employment, notably a nationwide railway upgrade. Algonquia expands north, as does Sahutudene, while the Zollern Insels improve their economy.
  • Spain continues to prosper as a center of the arts and learning despite economic hardship. The construction of new buildings, roads and other infrastructure continues. but government funded projects end as the government begins using money in other places in an effort to save the falling economy. Spanish businesses expand across Spanish territories and into other nations. The buildings rise higher and the trains run faster, especially in the major cities such as Zaragoza, Barcelona and Madrid. Cars and planes and all sorts of cool modern stuff. Spain continues to lay claim to Antarctica. The construction of ships and weaponry continues. Boats and guns and cars. Spain increases the number of battle ready ships in the Royal Armada, although at a much slower rate. More automatic weaponry stuff. The Spanish colony of West Africa expands 8000 sq km north in the west and east, totaling 16,000 sq km. Croats in Dahomey retain their rights. Dahomey expands 8000 sq km into the interior of Africa. The Spanish colony in southwest Africa expands 8000 sq km inland as well. Spain continues to develop better tanks. Planes improve. Fortunata Cardona continues enacting measures that begin to restore the strength of the Spanish economy. Spain begins to reman the Vega Line because of French militarization. #NoMoreWikiaChanges
      • Algeria continues to feel the effects of the recession in Spain. Algerian banks lose money fast, since they did not place security measures in place as soon as possible, unlike Singapore. Boats, guns, planes, cars. Algeria takes similar measures to Spain against Germany.
      • Singapore also continues to develop naval technology to protect its economic interests with the aid of Spain. Singapore is affected by the economic crisis in Spain, but to a smaller degree, so the Singapore government continues to put security measures in place to prevent further losses.

1931[]

An extremist authoritarian comes to power in the Tartary, espousing Turkic nationalism and the return of Tartar lands taken from the historic Tartary.

The People of Sardania, mostly ethnic French, begin to revolt, 100% against the idea of joining Lombardy. (Popular Revolt). With the ongoing revolt, the new French Government decides to invade Lombardy to reclaim other lands taken from them.

  • Indian Empire: Queen Farah Shah was proclaimed the Empress of India in 1888, starting a new era. • Croatia accepts in exchange for a payment.
  • Commonwealth Kingdoms: New Mecklenburg, Kameroon, and German West Africa expand by 750 px each. The treaty of Dandiri is signed, and New Mecklenburg is beginning to get prepared for its independence. The economy sees a slight increase after almost eight years of depression, and it's believed the austerity measures have helped so far, and so their renewed for the time being. Naval research and development, especially with carriers and submarines, continues. Emperor Friedrich and the Government take note of the new Franco-Lombard war.
  • Ruthenia: The Ruthenians continue to transform Minsk into an airship hub.
  • Korea: Korea continues to build up its military. Meanwhile, more Taoist and Buddhist temples are built. Taoism rises in popularity and gains more followers. • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: After some intense negotiations, the Duke signs the Treaty of Dandiri. The treaty has the full support of the High Council, and majority support in the Landtag. The Catholic-Socialist coalition government sees it as a good, peaceful agreement which will guarantee stability in the Australia continent for the foreseeable future. The Patriotic Front sees it as a disgraceful capitulation by the German government. The PF continues to slowly gain members and momentum, accompanied by an increase in attacks on Jews, Communists, and even the offices of Catholic Bloc MPs. The economy continues to improve. With the OHG's mining operations largely nationalised, the board begins a process of realignment, focusing more on transport and retail and less on primary industry. A small whaling fleet is, however, maintained.
  • Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: Glad that the Australian Crisis is now over, the government focuses on improving the economy, something made easier by the opening of the hydroelectric dam this year. Lord Conrad, the Premier, the Premier of the BAT, tribal chieftains/representatives, the Bishop and numerous other dignitaries are all present for the official opening. In his speech, the Lord praised the tireless efforts of the thousands of workers who worked on the project, calling them national heroes.
    • The Union of Borealia encourages New Norderney to join in the economic free zone and political unity by considering signing the Fourth Treaty of Chan Chan
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. Since the French are invading us, We send troops into France to attack.
  • Nederlanden: We support the French in attacking Lombardy, who has violated the treaty by trying to annex Sardinia. We enact an embargo against the Lombards. Other stuff happens. (Mil and Eco).
    • Luxembourg: (Infra and Eco).
    • Dutch France: (Infra and Mil).
  • Emeraldie: The land forces stand at 90,000 men, with 70,000 in reserve, modernisation of the armed forces is completed. Vast industrial expansion occurs in the region following years of government encouragement and subsidies. With the booming economy, the government begins investing heavily in education and infrastructure. In other news, the first domestically produced cars are built, with companies taking advantage of the growing petrol supply. The Royal Air Corps is expanded with new purpose built aircraft, it now includes 50 planes and seven bomber Zeppelins. The world's first aircraft carrier is completed, christened HMES Charlemagne, it represents the pinnacle of naval aeronautics. The Royal Airship Company expands its operations across the continent. In a controversial move the government passes a military and economic support act in the direction of France, with support from the Emeraldian Fascist Union.
    • Emeraldie Pacific Territories: The territorial government is granted the ability to control a small armed force to maintain peace in the region and protect from native aggression, its current numbers are around 8000 men.
  • Roman Empire: The Roman Empire continues to recover from the shock of the Great War, in which many good Romans died. The Empire also focuses on its internal security and stability after noticing the power of the revolt in Africa and remembering painful memories of revolts in Italy and Egypt. The financial crisis affects the Empire badly, and the economy suffers and many go without work. The current administration works to help mediate the crisis even though it knows its days are numbered. The civil war in the caliphate forces the Empire and its ally Assyria to be on guard. Research in new areas of science continues. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border. Supplies are sent to Holy League member Lombardy to help them resist the French invasion.
  • Spain continues to prosper as a center of the arts and learning despite economic hardship. The construction of new buildings, roads and other infrastructure continues but government funded projects end as the government begins using money in other places in an effort to save the falling economy. Spain continues to restore the Vega Line because of French militarization. #NoMoreWikiaChanges
        • Algeria continues to feel the effects of the recession. Boats, guns, planes, cars. Karam Castillion is elected Prime Minister.

India hosts the international Olympic Games in the city of Kolkata, bringing fame and glory to the Empire.
  • Mongolia: In both Mongolia and Chagtai industry is heavily improved.
    • You didn't win the Olympic vote. You tied.
Scientist Wilhelm Dunkhullta begins working on a prototype nuclear reactor.
Australia accepts Germany's apology, but focuses more on organizing their own independence.
  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: With the economy looking better, the military is built up, with a focus on incorporating technological advances, such as better airships and aeroplanes, guns, and ships (of course, this is done incrementally). The government is intrigued by Borealia's offer to Neu Norderney to join the Chan Chan Treaty, believing it may prove beneficial for German-Borealian relations. This opinion is forwarded to the Lord and his government, but the Duke and the Oldenburger Landtag make no effort to attempt to influence the Lordship's free decision. The PF, naturally, see the proposal as yet another sign of the weakness of the German state against Borealia's unceasing attempts to destroy it.
  • Lordship of Neu Norderney: Borealia's proposal of last year has occasioned much lively debate in Neu Norderney, both in the Landtag and amongst the general public. The potential economic benefits are considered by most to be very tempting. The political dimension, however, is the main cause for disagreement. Those supportive of the proposal think it an excellent opportunity to get concrete recognition of Neu Norderney's borders and sovereignity, whilst those opposing it see it as either a "trap" or a sure fire way to become entangled in New World squabbles. The government sends a telegram to Borealia stating that Neu Norderney is generally interested (although a final decision is yet to be reached), and also pointing out that, were Neu Norderney to sign, Germany as a whole would effectively have to as well (since Neu Norderney is but a member-monarchy of the German Commonwealth). The Other German States are contacted for their input. In other news, the hydroelectric dam begins providing power to Jacqueline, as well as other major towns.
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. With the increase of factories in the nation, more jobs are being created. This is the tenth straight year we slowly annex Sardinia into our nation. The military continues to send troops into France. King Giovanni dies this year at the age of 64. His son Mario takes the throne. Statues are being made in the town square for Giovanni.
  • Ruthenia: The Ruthenians continue to transform Minsk into an airship hub.
  • Voivodeship of Czechia: “Tragedy:The Voivode is Dead!” screams the front page of the Prague Daily. Yes, across the nation of Czechia millions mourn the untimely death of Silvester Duran. There is great sadness as his wisdom and leadership healed the painful scars of civil war and saw the dawn of a new age of Czech prosperity. Despite the crippling recession of the past years Czechia has recovered much of its prewar strength, and has regained a stable and growing economy. The completion of one of the Voivodes last acts as leader is celebrated shortly after his death with the coronation of the Grand Duran Dam which will provide electricity for thousands of homes and factories. Unfortunately, Voivode Duran never had any children, and with no named successor the Czech thrown stands unclaimed. With no formal power present in the nation, and no apparent heir to the Czech throne the leaders of every municipality and region convene in Prague to establish a government. They quickly establish an interim council to manage the country while a constitution is written as to how the new government will function.

• The reason why I definitely hosted the Olympics was because I voted on time. Scraw voted too late. Last time, I voted even before the Olympics were hosted but MP said I was too late. In this case, Scraw voted on Turn 1932, the turn the Olympics were supposed to be held. So he was definitely late in voting.

  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: The technological improvements to the military continue, especially to the Naval and Army Air Arms, where new planes and airship designs are incorporated. The Admiralty's technological division begin planning for their most ambitious project ever: a flying aircraft carrier. The concept designs envisage an immense rigid airship capable of holding and deploying up to five fighter aeroplanes. The design process is set to be completed by the end of the year, and if all goes to schedule, the first flying aircraft carrier could be in active service by 1936. In other news, Czechia's government is approached by Oldenburger diplomats, offering support and friendship for the newly re-emerged nation after the recent tragic loss of the Voivode.
  • Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: Opinion slowly turns in favour of the Borealian offer to accede to the Treaty of Chan Chan. Borealia is informed as much, and the government points out again that Neu Norderney, as a member-state of the UCG, could not accede without the rest of Germany- not that that need be a problem. The hydroelectricity from the Great Damn allows Jacqueline to introduce a tram network in an attempt to free up congestion. Economy improves.
    • Bavaria upholds Neu Norderney and Oldenburg's decision concerning Chan Chan admittance. Since NN is apart of Germany, any admittance to Chan Chan of any German commonwealth will thus admit all of Germany by default.
    • The Commonwealth Kingdoms inform the Lord of Neu Norderney that whatever they decide, the federal government will fully support Neu Norderney.
  • Commonwealth States (Bavaria): We try to improve our economy by gradually deregulating the corn, wheat, and coal industries (which had previously been heavily regulated during the 1870s), while increasing regulation over the financial world. These regulations include various laws and policies toward investments, loans and mortgages, and manufacturing. Even though we are slowly deregulating agriculture and coal, the government will be creating departments to oversee these economic centers. The Department of Agricultural Management and the Department of Coal and Fuel are established. In other news, Senator Claiton Dietricher, a Democratic-Federalist from Potsdam, launches his 1934 gubernatorial campaign for the Commonwealth States. • Voivodeship of Czechia: The council finishes its writing of a new constitution, and begins its ratification and implementation. Within six months every regional government has ratified the document which calls for the creation of a permanent parliament, The Chamber of Deputies, with control over the budget, economic policy, military policy and creating legislation. Additionally there is a Great Judiciary to mediate on regional and national level issues. Finally, an executive elected directly by the people, the Voivode. The executive serves as the leader of the nation, but he must respect the final piece of the government, the high council, which is comprised of the Prime Minister of the Chamber of Deputies, the Head Justice of the Great Judiciary, the Vice Minister of the Chamber of Deputies, and the Voivode himself. The new government quickly holds elections, and the people elect Oto Kovar a social democrat to office. His party, the newly formed Social Democrat Party establish themselves as a progressive, but non-Communist group that promotes equality through government assistance, not government control. The party also wins a majority in the Chamber of Deputies, if only 78 of the 150 seats. The TKPČ manages to gain 35 seats and the Social Anarchists another 30 with two seats going to minor parties aligned with the TKPČ. Quickly the Chamber of Deputies establish the taxes and begin to bring in revenue. The nation stabilizes over the last few months of the year with hopes that the next year might prove to be very prosperous.

Research in new areas of science continues. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border. Supplies are sent to Holy League member Lombardy to help them resist the French invasion.
  • Brazil: Settlement of Brazil’s new African territories is encouraged, especially in Porto Natal, Porto Centauro (Richard’s Bay), named for military leader Manuel Marques de Sousa, Barreto (Pietermaritzburg), named for José Luís Mena Barreto, Vila João (Johannesburg), named for King João of Guiana, and Vinicia (Pretoria). With the threat of the Zulu eliminated diamond and gold industries can be fully exploited, and a mass immigration occurs to the region from other portions of South Africa, Hesperia and Europe. The Embraer C-9 continues heavy production and use across the nation. Development of a light armoured reconnaissance vehicle begins to be employed in South Africa primarily. A partnership between the company Ed Ferreirinha & Irmão, an automotive business founded by race car driver Eduardo Ferreirinha, and foreign car manufacturers leads to the creation of Brazil’s first domestic car company. The ensuing brand becomes known as Ferreirinha, and begins mass producing domestic vehicles for the Brazilian population. One of the company’s rivals, União Metalo-Mecânica, catches the attention of the government by creating the Metralhadora Carro, or União MC-I, the first armoured reconnaissance vehicle for the Brazilian military. The first Brazilian tank, the Armadura-I, is also created. The tank is equipped with seven to thirteen millimeter armor, two 7.92 millimeter machine guns, and powered by a four cylinder air-cooled gasoline engine to reach a speed of about fifty km per hour on road. The independent colony of Bechuanaland is created as a collection of colonies and settlements in OTL Botswana, and becomes the third official state in the Transvaal Union. Each colony is expected to have the ability to raise an independent army, which is under the direct control of a central authority in Vinicia, Solumbuso. Following the conquest of Zimbabwe, a colonial government is established as part of the Transvaal Union. Railroads are lined across South Africa, and basic industry is created. Taking note of work completed in Emeraldie and Germany, the first Brazilian aircraft carrier, the Nova Lusitânia, begins construction in São Sebastião. Ports and shipyards are expanded or constructed in Africa, especially in O Golfo de Santa Maria da Conceição (Walvis Bay), centered in the city of Cetácegolfo. 1934[]

  • Commonwealth Kingdoms: New Mecklenburg, Kameroon and German West Africa expand by 750 px. Serious investigation into the aspects and advantages of nuclear energy begins after several papers are published in various scientific magazines. The economy also recovers somewhat as GDP grows slowly but steadily. In military matters, aluminum plated monoplanes begin making up a larger percentage of the Air Force.
Scientist Wilhelm Dunkhullta constructs a prototype nuclear reactor, which generated energy for over three minutes before almost going critical. The estimated power of this reactor could theoretically provide energy for an entire city.
    • Neu Norderney Diplomacy: The Lord informs the Borealian government of Neu Norderney's decision to take up Borealia's offer and sign the Chan Chan Treaty. He also reminds the, that, as Neu Norderney is a member commonwealth of the United German Commonwealths, the latter will be required to sign the treaty. This however, should not be a problem.
Australia accepts Germany's apology, but focuses more on organizing their own independence.
Spain continues to restore the Vega Line because of French militarization. Science and stuff. Woohoo technology! Fortunata Cardona resigns as Prime Minister and is succeeded by Haroldo Ybarra. #NoMoreWikiaChanges
    • Algeria continues to feel the effects of the recession. Boats, guns, planes, cars. The Castillion government begins replicating the actions of the government in Spain, since the previous government did not do much to save the economy.
    • Singapore also continues to develop naval technology to protect its economic interests with the aid of Spain. Singapore recovers from the economic crisis mainly due to extreme measures taken by the General Secretary.
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. With the increase of factories in the nation, more jobs are being created. This is the 12th straight year we slowly annex Sardinia into our nation. The military continues to send troops into France.
  • Ruthenia: The Ruthenians continue to transform Minsk into an airship hub.
  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: Comstruction begins on the two flying aircraft carriers, with good progress being made on the frames this year. The economy improves bit by bit, and the OHG opens up a second department store, this one in Osnabruck, as well as increasing its transport fleet. Cezchia is again offered friendship and assistance.

Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: With the other German States coming out in their support for Neu Nordenery joining the Chan Chan treaty, the nation becomes fairly firmly supportive of the plan, and a special envoy is sent to Borealia to inform the, of that fact. The military is expanded.

  • The Union of Borealia is pleased to hear this result.

Republic of China: The last Tibetan independence groups are wiped out and assimilation of the Tibetan population begins. The Chinese Nationalist Party, which was elected two years ago, begins plans for an invasion of Japan. We claim that all Japanese gains from the Sino-Japanese War were illegal and begin deploying troops to these regions. Meanwhile, we await a response from other nations in Asia from this. We outlaw all far-left parties, though there weren't any of these anyway.

  • Japanese Dip: We denounce the unconditional attack by the violet Chinese, and reject their illegal claim to our territories.
  • The Glorious Empire of Japan: The skies grow briefly dark above the great city of Tokyo as the Emperor falls ill and passes on. He is succeeded by the young and ambitious Emperor Hidehito who swiftly establishes an agenda for the next years. He plans to re-invigorate industry and reaffirm the military capacity of Japan while pushing through governmental reforms and stamping out corruption. To achieve these goals he passes the Industrial Improvement act of 1934 which provides tax breaks to Japanese companies. The Emperor also sends emissaries across the world to discover ways of manufacturing and bring them back to Japan. To reaffirm the military Hidehito orders a huge military drill without any forewarning. It is apparent that the military is not prepared for such an event, and needs improvement. A bid is placed for the development of an armored force. Due to Japan’s rough terrain and the limited transportation abilities of ships a small tank is required. After initial tests with basic designs it is decided that a tank-destroyer with a wide fire arc and a very low profile would best fit Japanese needs. The Type 1 Fukushū no sutoraiku Tank Destroyer. The Emperor follows in his predecessors steps in condemning the open and blatant hostility that the Chinese have displayed in their brutal attack up on Tibet, in which many thousands were killed and many thousands certainly raped by the millions of Chinese soldiers. In a speech to the people of Kyoto the Emperor says “We, Japan must stand ready to face the hordes of China, a land which has proven itself to be incapable of civilized discourse between nations.” Suddenly a report comes from the ports of Yantai and Qingdao and from Shanghai and Heinan. A Chinese force has illegally entered Japanese lands and is threatening civilians after destroying a Japanese garrison. The Emperor swiftly calls the fortuitously mobilized military to arms, and equipped with the first 12 of the new Type 1 Tank Destroyers they begin to beat back the savage Chinese.
    • Japanese Dip: We offer Tibetan rebels weapons and explosives if they will begin an insurgency against the Chinese in Occupied Tibet. [Mod Response, Please]
    • Borealia Dip: We request that the ports and waters of Papua be open for trade as others in the Treaty of Midway.
  • Algonquia continues to develop technologically, with special focus on the military. Submarine technology is advanced, with radio-guided torpedoes becoming widely used. The Algonquian military focuses on infantry and artillery, with the Council of Sachems deciding the necessary expenditure for tanks is simply not worth the result. Anti-tank mines are also developed, and manufactured widely. Work begins on developing a submachine gun. Meanwhile, airplane and airship service to the Zollern Insels increases development in the region, with its garrison expanded. Algonquia is pleased to hear that Neu Norderney is joining the Chan Chan treaty, seeing it as a sign of good relations to come. Expansion north continues, and Sahtudene is annexed this year.
Research in new areas of science continues. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border. Meanwhile, plans to industrialize the coastal areas as well as plans for fortifications are presented, and are started being worked on.
  • Ban Republic of Croatia (Banska Republika Hrvatska): Sewerage systems similar to Ragusan ones are built in major towns of theBan Republic. With growing Ragusan influence, and the beginning of further colonization, the navy expands rapidly using much of the Ragusan expertise. Moreover, with the influx of new resources in form of lumber, labour and metals, the navy begins expanding at a fast rate. More and more ships capable of crossing the Atlantic with ease are built. The Sabor intends to restore the glorious naval culture of the Neretva peoples and plans to do so by expanding the navy. The kravata (tie) is more and more used as an accessory. Trade routes are strengthened and the salt mines around Tuzla are explored as well as the salt industry in Pag and Nin. Using irrigation from the Danube, Sava, Drava, Drina, Cetina, Una, Vrbaš, Kupa, Neretva and other rivers the fields in the kingdom are developed, used for crops such as wheat, rye and barley. With trade routes increasing and Croatia entering an era of peace and of stability, the development of new trade ships is issued. Stone mining is furthered as well as the timber industry. The need for these resources rises as urbanization carries on. Iron ores in Dugopolje, Zenice and at last the 'mud' ore in Vojvodina and Eastern Slavonia are to be exploited alongside the silver and copper ores more frequently and of better quality than the iron ores. The exploitation of iron ores in the Lika and Gorski kotar areas continues. The salt industry in Ston is funded by the government. The influx of resources from Dahomey aids the economy. However, the government makes sure that the gold arriving isn't immediately put on the market in order to control the inflation in the worth of gold. The silver mine in Srebrenica is mined. Kotor Saraka (Adelaide) continues to expand. Draganić continues his research.
    • Isles of the Archvoivodeship (Otoci Nadvojvodstva): The infrastructure is built up.
    • Ban Republic of Carantania (Banska Republika Karantanija): Being Alpine Slavic nation, the leaders begin a programme to create a standardized Carantanian language that will reflect on both the Slavic and Alpine (Germanic) aspects of Carantania.
    • Sukadang Županija: Croatization. Expansion onto the other parts of Borneo.
    • Croatian Africa: Continues to expand.
    • White Croatia: Large-scale Croatization, numerous harsh measures are introduced to ensure White Croatia is Croatian.

French forces are able to retake the island of Sardinia after being aided by the French inhabitants, but are largely unable to penetrate the Lombard homeland.

  • India invades Venad.
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. • Britannia offers its West African colonies in exchange for Spanish South West Africa.
      • Algeria continues to feel the effects of the depression.
  • Andea: Andea's economy finally shows signs of recovering as the new government comes in and begins to implement new systems such as Price Administration. The debate about the constitutionality of this is limited, as the focus remains on economic growth. The new policies focus on "Trickle Up" or Demand Side economics. The military is set at 500,000 active men and 500,000 reserve men, with new machine pistols, now more commonly called "submachine guns" being implemented into the Andean military. The navy remains large, with the first aircraft carrier, a modified dreadnought, having finished production in 1927. Further developments into this type of naval vessel continue, with more being added to the military. Population stands at 107 million. An Andean researcher picks up on the research of the Borelian scientist who discovered atomic physics.
    • Union of Sudafrica: Continues to make leaps and bounds. The nation is officially made into a commonwealth of Andea, and is making strives toward independnece. The nation requests to deepen ties with Brazil's South African Colonies.
  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: Work continues on the two flying aircraft carriers, with the skeletons completed by the year's end. The economy continues to improve. One of the part-government-owned companies which supply aeroplanes to the army establishes a small car manufacturing subsidiary company, the Oldenburger Motoren Werke AG, or OMW for short. Is aim is to manufacture relatively cheap cars for middle-class Germans to buy. An Oldenburger representative signs the Chan Chan Treaty.
  • Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: With Neu Norderney and the other German States having signed the Treaty of Chan Chan, the government sits back and waits for the economic benefits to come rolling in. The government's popularity, which had already been boosted by the hydroelectric dam project, is further increased by the successful conclusion of the deal. Economy expands.
  • Commonwealth States (Bavaria): We continue to deregulate the corn, grain and coal industries, while passing more legislation concerning the financial world. First, we define the difference between an investment bank and a commercial bank. Furthermore, we attempt to crack down on predatory loaning, stock market speculation, bribery and other white-collar crimes. The Office of Financial Crimes is created to enforce and validate these laws. As a whole, Marian Liberals find these new actions very promising, while Conservatives are much more lukewarm to them. In other news, Claiton Dietricher wins the 1934 governor-general elections, and he nominates Jakome Pinscher to be his Vice Governor.
  • Republic of China: After being repulsed from our own territory by the Japanese invaders, we request a ceasefire with Japanese forces. Failing to take our lands back by force, we offer military adi in all wars involving Japan until 1950 for control of these territories. We begin looking for allies, fearing the Indian-Japanese-Caliphate hegemony in Asia. With few nations possibly being an ally to us, we look for an alliance with the Bengal Sultanate. We follow this up with an alliance request with the Empire of Lanka. (Mod Response needed for Bengal)
    • LOL. An alliance with the Bengal Sultanate.             Roman Crown   The night is dark and full of terrors.
    • The Bengal Sultanate doesn't exist anymore. I recomend you look for alliances but make sure you have something substantial to offer in return. -Nathan
  • Caliphate drastically improves infrastructure, industry and economy. As we seek to protect our possesions, we become less expansionist into foreign cultures and lands. We continue westernization efforts especially in urban, developed regions, such as Baghdad. As with every year, we maintain our two Holy cities and donate a small amount of our income to charity, especially to the poor: beggars, widows, and more of the like. We maintain our military, but the military becomes less emphasized with the signing of the pan-Asian pact, which protects the Caliphate from any foreign invasion and threats. We improve relations with the Afghans, hoping to bring them into the Pact in the near future. With the death of Caliph Hakeem bin Malik many of our young citizens call him the "Magnificent", specifically for his republican reforms, implementing the Shura. With the westernization and increasing democratic power, we begin, on a small scale, implementing railroads, especially connecting urban cities and regions. We also begin construction on large-scale of an Ironclad fleet, in order to combat the Roman fleet. With the full implementation and the construction of roads, postal service, railroads, transportation and news travels faster than ever, allowing the unity of the Caliphate. We begin to encourage urban cities sto start developing their own newspapers, as along with the arrival of radios into the Caliphate, due to the Westernization Effort. We continue to support the idea of the Caliphate as a pan-Islamic state, not Pan-Arabic. The Government completely reforms, seeking Hakeem's dream of a truly democratic Caliphate. A new office is created: Sultan. The Caliph becomes only the religious leader of the Caliphate, whose position is heredity, with the Sultan being elected from the Shura. The Caliphate begins to become federalized, with every province of the Caliphate holding a small amount of power. We continue to attempt to convert Shia Muslims, even bribing local religious leaders to begin to teach Sunni beliefs. With the war against the Romans ending with status quo ante bellum and restoration of all previous treaties, the Caliphate becomes desperate to look for new wealth. With oil found in Persia, and predictions of an even greater oil field by Borealian geologists, the Caliphate offers to grant Borealian companies 20% of all profits from oil sales for 15 years, starting from the year the Caliphate first starts exporting oil. The Caliphate continues to head to democracy with the foundation set by Caliph Hakeem. The Caliphate continues promoting Arab, Persian, Swahili and Turkic culture. We take hostile actions against China, including global sanctions, specifically oil.
  • Ruthenia: The Ruthenians continue to transform Minsk into an airship hub.
Research in new areas of science continues. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border. Supplies are sent to Holy League member Lombardy to help them resist the French invasion.

Mongolia: After years of stagnation a peasant who is named Batbayar who is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan leads a massive popular revolt in Mongolia and immediately revamps industrialization and the military, putting many to work and revamping the economy. In order to restore the former glory of Mongolia, we declare war on the Republic of China in order to assert political hegemony over China.

  • Commonwealth Kingdoms: New Mecklenburg is continued to be prepared for independence. Elections are scheduled for New Mecklenburgs first prime minister next year, though the current governor-general, Michael von Windigenburg, is widely liked and is expected to win. In other news, in light of recent scientific advances, the Kingdoms and New Mecklenburg agree to scientific cooperation to research these advances, and allotting for scientific facilities to be constructed in both the Kingdoms and New Mecklenburg. Finally, a loan is given to the New Mecklenburg government so that the newly independent state will have operating cash on hand.
  • Indian Empire: Queen Farah Shah was proclaimed the Empress of India in 1888, starting a new era. The Indian population rose to about 741,772,000, and the flocking of the people to coastal cities continued, with a mass increase of population in Kolkata, Mahmudpur, Karachi, Mumbai, Surat and various other minor cities and townships throughout the state. The Indian army, equipped with modern armaments stood at 720,000 troops with an additional 250,000 reserves whilst the Imperial Guard was composed of 20,000 troops and the armament industry thrived on local and national level, with armaments rarely imported from foreign nations. Along the same time, the Indian Renaissance were in full swing, with movements such as the Young India movement having aided in national modernisation and a massive rise in literacy and education, with major developments in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc. Moreover, promotion of industrialisation and capitalism allowed the Imperial authorities to construct a Trans-National Railway, connecting the entire Empire as well as introduction of many other commodities such as telephones, bulbs, electricity. Indian troops rapidly advanced into Venad territory.
    • Khedivate of Bahamani: The Capital of Bahamani was Hyderabad and the population was 90.2 million.
    • Khedivate of Udaipur: The Capital of Udaipur was Ahmadabad and the population was 70.8 million.
    • Khedivate of Vijaynagar: The Capital of Vijaynagar was Coimbatore and the population was 40.4 million.
    • Khedivate of Aceh Darrusalam: The Capital of Aceh was Banda and the population was 19.5 million.
    • Lanka to India Diplomacy: Although we know help is not needed in such a great invasion, the Emperor assists India in invading Venad. Lanka sends some troops to the coast of Venad to briefly distract the enemies, while India quickly moves in. The Lankan troops then merge with the Indian army to help the quick advance.
Scientist Wilhelm Dunkhullta constructs a prototype nuclear reactor, which generated energy for over three minutes before almost going critical. The estimated power of this reactor could theoretically provide energy for an entire city.
Australia accepts Germany's apology, but focuses more on organizing their own independence.
  • Empire of Lanka: The Emperor Sri Gunananda, dies of old age. His son, Dutugamunu Samir II inherits the throne. The government continues to focus all efforts on industrialization. Accelerated industrialization continues in Lanka due to things like the Waardige Pact, and the country's focus on it. Lankan architecture begins to develop its own identity, influenced largely by renaissance/baroque Dutch architecture and Asian, specifically Indian architecture. Although small, the imperial army continues to remain one of the most advanced in Asia, due to European supplies. Population in the cities continue to get jobs in factories and get involved in industrial work. The most recent census taken in 1930, accounts for 5,918,784 citizens. The ports on the island remain in heavy use, even competing with some Indian ports in the region like Chennai. Significant urbanization causes the cities of Waardige, Sri Jaywardenepura Kotte, Kandy, Kalmunai, and Galle, to be flooded with people. Waardige continues to be a trade, technological and industrial center in Asia. The Waardige Canal stands more as a scenic part of Waardige, and sometimes get visited by Europeans for their honeymoons. The island is nearly covered in railroads, and both transportation and transport of people and goods on the island is very fast. Religion in the empire continues to be mixed with the three main religions of Hinduism, Buddhism and Dutch Reformist being worshiped on the main island while there are a few animist natives on Nava Kotte. The Lankan navy still holds warships that were supplied during the protectoratecy. With Galle and Waardige fitted to make ironclads and other warships, the Lankan navy continues to gain power. Lankan industrial funding continues to be used to build factories across the empire, and industrialize the whole nation. With the last census, the Lankan parliament enacted the Individual Imperial Number (IIN). This makes it so every citizen needs to register with empire and is assigned its own indentification code. Also noted/registered is the religion and ethnicity of the citizen. Lanka continues to massively export cigars, tea, tobacco, rubber, diamonds, and other precious gems. Lanka continues to hold alliances with Spain, Japan, and Rome. The empire continues to purchase weapons from Japan and Rome. The Compulsory Education Act of 1919 which makes compulsory education from ages five to fifteen and makes work-only and school-only days. The Lankan Guilder continues to be minted and printed at the Lankan Imperial BankDutugamunu Samir II enacts many anti-Tamil edicts that restrict Tamil rights and backs it up by saying that the Tamil population is planning a Hindu revolt similar to the one Lanka was against in India. Lanka declines the Chinese Alliance offer, as it is friends of Japan and India already.
    • Chinese Diplomacy: We ask for an alliance, offering protection.
    • Indian Diplomacy: The Imperial authorities of India support the Anti-Tamil Edicts, and apologize for having previously interfered in Lankan affairs. Long live Indian - Lankan friendship, says the Indian Diplomat to Lanka.
  • Lombardy: Our military is continuing to increase due to technology becoming better. Factories still make weapons and vehicles for our military but they are not the mostly made items. With the increase of factories in the nation, more jobs are being created.
  • Commonwealth Duchy of Oldenburg: The navy completes the bodies of the two flying airships, and work starts on the complete trapeze mechanism which will allow the fighter planes to enter and exit the motherships. Czechia is again offered friendship and cooperation. Economy improves.
  • Commonwealth Lordship of Neu Norderney: Taking advantage of the very dark night sky in the West of the country, the Univesity of Osnabruck sets up an observatory there. Economy improves.
  • Republic of China: With no response received and no incursion into our territory yet made, we withdraw from our territory with Japanese troops in. We remind Lanka of our alliance offer, offering protection from Japan. After the retreat from the Japanese zone, we invade Mongolia, our troops from North China immediately entering Mongolian territory. In the 1936 Chinese General Election, the Chinese Nationalist Party is reelected, although with a significantly reduced majority, obtaining 49% of the vote. In his victory speech, the Chinese Premier, An Guo, declares he will get revenge on the "barbarian" Mongolians, and also promises to attempt to regain China's land through diplomacy.
  • The Glorious Empire of Japan: Emperor Hidehito leads his victorious army onward with news of the Mongolian invasion of China. The war goes well as the Chinese armies collapse before the Japanese might. The Emperor, however, limits the war to the interior of the nation, hoping to preserve the coastal infrastructure for Japanese occupation after the war is finished. The increased spending boosts the economy as 500 new Type 1 “Fukushū no sutoraiku” Tank Destroyers are produced. An economist at the Tokyo University begins to subscribe to the notion that economies are built from the ground up and that to protect the economy it is important to protect the middle of society. This intellectual movement begins to make some headway in the minds of economists and sociologists across Japan.
Spain builds submarines, boats and guns, and cars. Spain increases the number of battle ready ships in the Royal Armada, although at a much slower rate. More automatic weaponry stuff. The Spanish colony of West Africa expands 16,000 sq km west. Croats in Dahomey retain their rights. Dahomey expands 8000 sq km into the interior of Africa. British West Africa is incorporated into the Spanish colonial domains in Africa. Spain continues to develop better tanks. Planes improve. Spain continues to restore the Vega Line because of French militarization. Science and stuff. Woohoo technology! Haroldo Ybarra continues the practices of the Cardona government. Spain commissions another aircraft carrier. #NoMoreWikiaChanges
    • Algeria continues to feel the effects of the depression. Boats, guns, planes, cars. The Castillion government continues replicating the actions of the government in Spain.
    • Singapore also continues to develop naval technology to protect its economic interests with the aid of Spain. In Singapore, there is a constitutional crisis when the Secretary General requests that the governor dissolve the Singaporean Senate in the name of the Crown but the governor refuses. The majority government in Singapore collapses and the governor invites a minority coalition to form a new government. This new government technically cannot exist unless an election is called to confirm it, but an election cannot be called unless there is an active government that can be dismissed. The Crown invests the governor with the power to call an emergency election in Singapore but this is seen as the Spanish government overstepping its boundaries and interfering in the business of autonomous Singapore. The crisis is resolved in the third week when the former Secretary General is called back to form a new government that can be dismissed in order for an election to be held. When the elections are held, the People's National Alliance wins and Hummel Lee Jan-Meng becomes the new Secretary General. This event leads to a major review of the power of Spain in the affairs of Singapore and especially the role of the governor.
    • Spain accepts the British offer.
Algonquia asks to purchase New Guerney/Hispaniola from Brittannia. (Mod Response, Please)

  • Commonwealth Kingdoms: final preparation for the independence of New Mecklenburg is made. As expected, Michael von Windigenburg easily wins election to become New Mecklenburgs first prime minister. In one of the final acts prior to independence, the Diet approves the new constitution, based on Hamburg's Rezeß, one of the oldest continually used constitutions in the world. Finally, both the New Mecklenburger Diet and the United German Diet ratify the release of the "Grand Duchy of New Mecklenburg". After the ratification, Emperor Friedrich announces his intention to name his younger nephew, William, as Grand Duke and an independent monarch. Germany sets up embassies in the capital of Sudstadt to maintain relations. Meanwhile, economic recovery continues, thanks to the emergency austerity measures imposed, and some begin proposing rollbacks to those measures. Naval research continues, with focus primarily placed on carriers and submarines.
  • Indian Empire: Queen Farah Shah was proclaimed the Empress of India in 1888, starting a new era. With victory over Venad, jubilant crowds celebrated the unification of India throughout the Empire. Empress Farah Ashraf Shah particularly appreciated Lankan aid during the war, and noted that Lanka had previously aided India during the Madurai Uprising as well. In response to such loyalty and friendship by Lanka, the Indian Empire issued the Lankan Doctrine which stated that stated that any efforts by European nations to colonize land or interfere with Lanka would be viewed as acts of aggression, requiring Indian intervention. Tamils have the titular title of citizen removed and are declared subjects of the state, with fewer rights. Lanka thanks the Indian Empire for their generosity, and hopes that both nations will continue the great relationship. Lanka declines China's alliance offer, but offers them a trade agreement.
Research in new areas of science continues. However, there are no current plans to get involved other than to increase security at the border.
