Introduction[]
The Point of Divergence is in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the confrontation between the US Destroyers Beale and the Soviet Submarine B-59. Vasili Arkiphov at this moment was unable to calm down the exhausted and angered Russian captain of the Soviet Submarine 'Valentin Savitsky' which he ordered his crew to prepare and fire a single '15 kiloton nuclear torpedo' against the US Destroyer Beale since he believed that war had already begun.
This chaotic situation completely vaporized the USS Beale and Cony, all of its crew either killed or missing in action, its accompanying ships such as USS Murray was almost wrecked. The Soviet Submarine B-59 hull was destroyed by a massive underwater shock-wave which caused it to sink. Majority of the submariners drowned to death as the ocean water flooded into the soviet submarine while the ship escalated down deep into the ocean.
This event kickstarted the World War III, which quickly turned from a nuclear war with brutal land invasions to an insane carnage fueled by hatred and blood. The war only lasted one year but it caused the deaths of 110 million Humans and a lot more in the following decades as a result of radiation or violent civil wars.
Many nations were completely overrun by civil wars and uprisings while the few remaining ones flourished.
Some places are even turned to complete anarchy without a government and a military.
