The 1984 Presidential Election was the first Presidential election in the history of the Republic of Superior. The enormously popular mayor of Marquette, Robert Stowe, considered by many as the father of the nation, for the most part ran unopposed for the Presidency. Other candidates failed to make any progress in the few polls taken among the population, and Stowe managed to win on levels that have to this day been unreachable by subsequent politicians.

General Election[]
With the constitution having only been fully ratified by August, and the Electoral College fully established by the end of September, there was a very short window for actual campaigning. Still, there was no much need for a campaign. Most of the existing media, if not all, backed the candidacy of Robert Stowe, who throughout the entire election managed affairs both within the Provisional Government and Marquette. The other candidates, meanwhile, were reduced to campaigning within their own states, Carnahan and LeGarde fighting each other for control of Chippewa's vote. On November 10th, it was announced that Robert Stowe had won the election in an unprecedented landslide, carrying all the states within the Republic, and over 90% of the popular vote. Out of a estimated voting population of 330,825, 91.33%, or 302,144 people, voted in the first presidential election of the Republic.
