The 1993 Cleveland Browns season was the team's 44th season with the American Football League. This season was notable for longtime starting quarterback Bernie Kosar announcing his retirement during the offseason.  Coach Bill Belichick will later promote Vinny Testaverde as starting quarterback. The Browns came into the year trying to make a marked improvement after disappointing 1992. That club finished 7-9, improving only slightly over a 6-10 mark in 1991.
