Introduction[]
The 1 Week War, also known as the Russo-Yue War, or the Amur war, was a conflict fought between the Russian Empire and the Chinese Yue Dynasty, over the course of one week, in several towns across the amur region.
This "war" was actually a series of skirmishes between local Chinese garrison forces, Amur settler forces and Russian reconnaissance troops, the war was effectively terminated by a telegram directly to the Chinese Emperor, by the Foreign Minister of Russia. It ended the skirmishes and the deployment of Russian troops, agreeing to a truce, which allowed Amur settlers to stay in the Yomingcheng province, Whilst a diplomatic drawback for China, the Amur Republic established a day later would not last- the Dongbei garrison would enter the region again in August of 1913, and without Russian diplomatic support, this time- the Chinese effectively ended the short lived, 2 year old republic, deporting the Amur cossacks and Russian settlers.
The war became a running joke amongst the Russian upper class and politicians, often caricatured to critique the Chinese Empire and its fragile backbone compared to Russian might, but history would prove that the Chinese would have the last laugh.
