The 2000 FISA World Cup was held in the summer of 2000 in Spain. The hosts Spain won their first-ever World Cup, defeating Portugal on penalty kicks in the final in Madrid, also the first time they ever hosted the tournament. It was the last World Cup to which the defending champion qualified automatically - in this case, Oceania.
