Republicans
Having little choice, the Republicans nominated McCain for a second bout. This time, Bauer was dropped as running mate in favour of Ohio Congresswoman Deborah Pryce.
Democrats
Vice President Gephardt won the nomination with only token opposition. His running mate was North Carolina Senator John Edwards.
