The 2016 IIHF World Championship Division I was held in two groups. All games were played from 6 to 13 May 2016. Group A games were played in Kraków, Poland and Group B were played in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Division II represent the second and third tiers of the Ice Hockey World Championships.
