The 56th Californian federal election was held on 6 November 2018 to elect the members of the 56th Parliament of California. At this election, all 135 seats of the Californian House of Representatives and 24 of the 48 seats in the Senate were contested. The governing Liberals under incumbent Chancellor Bernie Sanders of Cochimia competed against the Conservatives under incoming leader Mitt Romney of Utah. The Liberals lost four seats to the Conservatives; the government still won re-election nevertheless, albeit with a reduced majority.
