The 2020 Novanglian federal election was held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 to elect members for the 27th Parliament of Novanglia. The incumbent Conservative government under Prime Minister Tony Abbott was defeated in its re-election campaign by Diane Morgan of the Radical Civic Union. Morgan became the first female Prime Minister in the history of Novanglia.

The election represented the first victory for the R.C.U. at a federal level since 1995, when Paul McCartney won a considerable majority while seeking a fourth term in office. However, it ended the last Conservative period that the nation had since 1983, when the party was greatly defeated by McCartney. It saw the rise of the Republican Party of Novanglia, also known as "Republican Action" for its coalition with similar parties, which helped them get into the national scale. Socialist MP John McDonnell retained the leadership of the Socialist Party and ran once again with slightly better results.

Unlike the last election that presented low levels of turnout and registering, the election saw one of the biggest turnouts ever documented, with over 70% of the population. Although the 2003 and 2007 federal elections had similar and even higher turnouts (71 and 67% respectively), the 2015 election represented a somewhat minor regression with only 59.9%.

The leadership of the Radical Civic Union was a tight race which included Morgan herself, MP Jagmeet Singh and then-incumbent leader Ed Davey. Rayner saw little competition from Steve MccAbe and Marc Garneau, both would appeal to specific demographics.

Despite not losing much support from his main base, the Abbott and his ministry were criticized for his often vocal opinions against economic integration with other nations in Muqaddas and his inefficent action when it came to natural disasters such as earthquakes in the Western Coast and the 2016 drought in Biruvia. Social media and overall campaigning became much more important than in prior years thanks to the expansion of the Weltemp. Over the course of the year Morgan based most of his campaign in social media, and received support from popular figures such as Jacqueline Onassis.

Republicanism and its popularity among the general public was also a major subject of discussion as they entered the House of Commons for the first time in history. Shortly after the election, Abbott lost the leadership of the Conservative Party, despite his intentions to remain, and was replaced by famous Castilian-Novanglian Edward Cruz, who appears to be a growing figure within national politics.
