The 2020 Philippine legislative election was held on 9 May 2021 after the Batasang Pambansa was dissolve by President Rodrigo Duterte on 28 December 2019. Nationalist Party gained an absolute majority in the Parliament, even though the it was a Minority governing coalition from 2019-2020.

The Liberal Party failed to secure a majority in the Batasang Pambansa, while losing 260 seats to the Nationalist Party.
