The 2nd Genevan Games (or 2nd Modern Olympiad) was a multi-sport competition held 31st July-14th August 2021 in Geneva.
Initially the Olympiad Committee had hoped to emulate the ancient Greeks by holding the 2nd Modern Olympiad four years after the last i.e. in 2020, however much of the infrastructure on the site of the World's Fair on the shoreline of Lake Geneva had only been built as a temporary measure and even by early 2018 the dilapidation of the site was apparent. Extra time was need therefore to take down unsafe buildings (the Great Hall for instance was judged unsafe) and build more permanent replacements.
The extra time gave the organisers leeway to solve some of the issues which had appeared in the first games; namely the lack of women's events, the lack of worldwide representation and the lack of accommodation in Geneva for all the visitors. However it also increased the criticism of the Olympiad Committee in the Genevan (and Swiss and Burgundian) press who now sought to reign in the Committee's cavalier attitude to riding roughshod over local politicians and spending public funds with no oversight. "[The Olympiad Committee] is a government in want of a country to ruin" said one disgruntled Genevan MP.

Once the games began however the criticism meted out in the press and debating chambers largely melted away and was replaced by general warmth toward the visiting athletes and good-natured rivalry between the national teams.

The number of countries participating was markedly increased, with many teams from Tawantinland and Asia, however there were only seventeen competitors from Africa, ten of which came from the New Netherlands. The Caliphate was represented by a single competitor. All events attracted large crowds, and for the most part they cheered all competitors regardless of their nationality.
