Readjuster

The 2022 Confederate presidential election will be the 24th sexennial presidential election, scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, 2022.

At present, general elections follow caucuses and primary elections held to determine the nominees of the major national parties; Dixiecrat, Readjuster, Booth, and Communist. The winner of the 2022 presidential election is scheduled to be inaugurated on February 20, 2023.

Background

Procedure

Article Two of the Confederate Constitution states that No person except a natural-born citizen of the Confederate can run for the office of president. They also must be the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the limits of the Confederate States, as they may exist at the time of his election. Also no former president is allowed to run for reelection which makes Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Condoleezza Rice, Mike Huckabee, and Marco Rubio unable to for the presidency.

Dixiecrat

Nelson and Rubio

2016 Dixiecrat Presidential nominee Senator Bill Nelson at a Debate

The Dixiecrat has been struggling in national politics since the turn of the century with the the lost of the majority of Conservative wing to the Booth party during the Presidency of Al Gore.

With poor turnout in both the elections of 2010 and 2016 with the party finishing behind the Readjusters and the Booth party. Currently the party leadership is struggling among themselves to find the party direction moving forward as more of it's conservative wing leaves for the Readjusters while it's liberal heads to the Communist.

Readjuster

Marco Rubio in Venezuela

President Rubio during a visit to Venezuela.

Since Condoleezza Rice victory in 2004 the Readjuster has begun to dominate national politics for the nation. Marco Rubio's victory in 2016 has allowed the party to push through many of it's policy with it's control of both houses of the legislation, pushing for tax cuts to help the economy and benefits to military veterans.

Also Rubio has worked hard on strengthening ties with his fellow BRIC Nations and the countries from Central and South American in which he believes a possible multinational union of the national would strengthen the countries economies to challenge that of the United States, Europe, and Asia. With Rubio popularity among the Confederates, especially in the major states of Cuba, Georgia, Florida, and Texas that the party has a good chance of keeping the President's Mansion.

Rick Perry February 2015

Vice President Rick Perry of Texas finished second in the election of 2016.

The Booth Party founded in 1999 with conservative members of the Dixiecrat party unsatisfied with the direction that Clinton and Gore were taking the party and supporters of independent candidate Ross Rerot. Since it's founding the young party has begun to gain supporters nationally winning the presidency in 2010 with Governor Mike Huckabee.

In the election of 2016 the Booths preformed well taking 3 states and were only one percent from taking the state of Tennessee which would have stopped Rubio from taking the majority and brought the election to the House of Representatives.

Communist

Raul Castro chairmen of the Communist Party of the Confederacy (2011-2017) was the party's nominee in 2016.

Since being reformed in 1992 the Communist Party of the Confederacy has struggled to regain support among the Confederate people. In the five presidential elections the party has competed in since reforming it has yet to win a single state. Yet with the Mariela Castro victory in the 2016 senate race in Cuba and the surprising number of seats gained in the house during the 2018 congressional election has lead to some feeling that the party may actually become a serious contender in the election.
