The Fifty-Ninth Congress of the Union is the next meeting of the legislative branch of the Cygnian Government, composed of the Senate and the House of Representatives. It is scheduled to meet from 3 January 2021 to 1 November 2024. The 2020 federal elections resulted in the Cygnian Labour Party retaining majority government status in the House.

- 3 January 2021: Election of the Speakers. Steve Georganas (L) is elected Speaker of the House 157–143. Sue Lines (L) is re-elected as Speaker of the Senate 54–46.
- 3 January 2021: The 2021 State Opening of Congress. President Carmen Lawrence delivers her first State of the Union address. Following the opening, Congress formally elects Anthony Albanese as Chancellor of the Union.
- 9 January 2021: Inauguration of the next Chancellor.
