1989 - June 4

Morining, PLA Generals, dusgusted at their own actions, and what they are about to do, turn their weapons on themselves.

The remaining soldiers, alone and leaderless, lacking orders, lay down their weapons and join the protesters


June 5 - Party leaders finally begin negotiating with protesters. Protesters insist on speaking with Zhao Ziyang and begin chanting his name.
