Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 – 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician who was the dictator of Germany from 1933 until his suicide in 1945. He rose to power as the leader of the Nazi Party, becoming the chancellor in 1933 and then taking the title of Führer und Reichskanzler in 1934. During his dictatorship, he initiated World War II in Europe by invading Poland on 1 September 1939. He was closely involved in military operations throughout the war and was central to the perpetration of the genocide of about six million Jews and millions of other victims.

Relationship with Eva Braun[]

Hitler had been engaging in a relationship with Eva Braun since 1932, when he was 43 and she was 20. It was somewhat common knowledge amongst the German public that Hitler and Braun were in a relationship, although not married. No one dared to comment on the fact they were engaging in sexual relations outside of wedlock, as they did not want to encourage Hitler's wrath.

Their relationship was kept under wraps. In October 1933, Braun fell pregnant, when she was 21 and Hitler was 44. The relationship had a large amounts of complications, but Braun gave birth on the 13th of July 1933, to a baby girl named Maria. Not long after the birth, it was discovered that Maria was born with a albinism. Hitler was very ashamed of his daughter, as her disability did not align with Hitler's values and the general views of Nazism. Hitler and Braun had differing opinions on what to do with their daughter; Hitler wished for Maria to go and live with either one of his or Eva's relatives, while Eva wanted Maria to live with Hitler and herself at their home. In the end, Hitler won the argument and Maria went to live with Braun's parents, very rarely seeing her mother and father.

In June 1944, Braun fell pregnant again. Braun had to go through the majority of her pregnancy alone, as Hitler was leading the losing Nazi Germany in World War II. This pregnancy was extremely difficult, even worse Braun's first pregnancy. Then on the 20th of March 1945, Braun gave birth to twins, Adolf and Klara. Eva's health was dramatically declining and Hitler was summoned back to the Führerbunker, where Eva was living out her final hours. Hitler arrived at the Führerbunker on the 23rd of March 1945, at around 5pm. He summoned a priest to Eva's bedside, who then conducted a wedding between the two. They were married at around 7pm, and Eva then passed away at 7:23pm, meaning they were husband and wife for all of 23 minutes.

End Of Life[]

Hitler spent a week with his twin children, his son who was named after himself, and his daughter who was named after his dear mother. His lack of attention to the German military or political situation in this week, led to the complete collapse of his government. Hitler had managed to continue taking refuse with his 2 children. He wrote a letter and asked one of his attendants to deliver it to his eldest daughter, who he had not seen in a number of years. In the afternoon of the 30th of April 1945, Hitler heard the forces of the Allies breaking into the Führerbunker. Upon hearing this, he left his children in their bedroom. He ran into his bedroom, grabbed a gun from his bedside table, and shot himself.
