Al-Qaeda is an Islamic terrorist organization primarily active in the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia. Its primary goal was to bring down Western civilization itself, which includes destroying the Soviet Union, the Confederate States of America, Israel and Europe. The organization was engaged in a low-level guerrilla warfare with the Soviet Union in the Central Asian areas and was responsible for some terrorist attacks with the CSA somewhere in 2002. As a result, the USSR and the CSA found a common foe and briefly cooperated in retaliating with Al-Qaeda. North Africa and the Middle East became an occupation zone jointly-administered by the Soviets and the Confederates. Despite weakened, Al-Qaeda continues waves of terrorist attacks throughout the newly-annexed Middle East and Central Asia.
