Alphonse Gabriel Capone (/kəˈpoʊn/; January 17, 1899 – January 29, 1997), sometimes known by the nickname "Scarface", was an American gangster and businessman who attained notoriety during the Prohibition era as the co-founder and boss of the Chicago Outfit. He is best known for taking part in the Mafia conflicts, a historical conflict that lasted from 1965 until 1997.
