The Alaskan Independence Party (AKIP) (Russian: Партия независимости Аляски) was a political party in Alaska that supports for a regional referendum that includes the option of Alaska becoming an independent country. The party also supported gun rights, pro-life views, privatization, home schooling, and minimal government, similar to the Russian Democratic Party. After a failed independence referendum in 2006, the party officially disbanded due to internal conflicts.
