Allen West (Born February 7, 1961) is the 47th and first black Vice-President of the United States. Prior to his vice-presidency he served as a US representative from Florida from 2011-2013 and in the army from 1982-2004 leading to his promotion as Lieutenant Colonel. He sometimes would make appearances on Fox News as a conservative commenter before and during his tenure in the white house as a representative.

As vice-president, West is ,in charged of the departments of defense and veteran affairs, foreign relations, getting President Palin's proposed policies passed, and the military itself. With Palin's approval ratings average, his approval ratings are much higher due to his experience with military and foreign policy and his willingness to do extra tasks. Vice-President West's approval rating currently stands at 74%.
