Amazandia, officially The Amazandian Federation (Spanish:Federación Amazándica), is a large country in South America that shares a border with Brazil, Antarctica, Peru, Guiana and Panama. It has a long coast on the Pacific Ocean and a tiny one from the Amazon river, as well as a smaller coast on the Atlantic Ocean.

it is the largest country in south America size-wise and the second largest population-wise, with most of its population being decadents of British colonists and Mestizos from earlier Spanish colonialization.

Much of the country was originally under Spanish control as New Granada and Venezuela, but after the war of Spanish succession these would fall in British hands. other party of the country include Guyana and Amazonia, the large but sparsely populated region in the Amazon rainforest.

Amazandia is a highly-developed country, amongst the richest in South America and the western hemisphere, only eclipsed by it's southern neighbor Antarctica.

it's currently a member of the Congress of Nation(CoN), the Anglo-nations League, the Caribbean Congress and the American Union.

Amazandia's culture was shaped by the earlier Spanish conquest and then the later English regime, as well as the native and african-american cultures, and today is very mixed and unique. The tension between the English and Spanish communities is a continuing issue in domestic affairs.

Etymology[]

the name Amazandia was invented by Edward Harring in 1871, because of the ongoing at the time unification talks of British South America. Before then the various British territories in South America were simply known as British South America. the new term was a portmanteau of the words Amazon + Andes, reflecting two very important geographical features of the new state that also were it's natural borders
