The United Republic of America (URA or the American Republic) is a nation (federal republic) and the largest in North America, and the 3rd largest in the world after the Russian Republic. The country's capital, since 16 November 1990, is the New Washington (OTL Boston). The country is the successor to the former World Power, The United States of America (USA), which collapsed after the Vietnam War in mid 1970s, and Harry D. Michaels was elected president. Five countries (Principality of Wales, Kingdom of England, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Korea, and the Empire of Japan) joined the alliance in October 2002 in a desperate measure to protect URA from threats.
