War between the United Kingdom and Portugal on one side and the rebellious English North American Colonies, France and Spain on the other side, for the independence of these colonies, and a rematch for the Seven Years War.
As a net result, this war granted the independence of the United States, and a few territorial concessions to Spain.
The burden of this war led to some minor rebellions in the Spanish American territories and to the French Revolution.
