In 1789 the unthinkable occurred in France, a mass revolution occurred pitting the royalists and monarchy against the peasants and the revolutionaries. It led to the death of the French monarchy, and the introduction of a 'true democracy' to Europe. All of this attributed to upset lower class citizens and a Corsican willing to take advantage of the situation.
What if, the unthinkable did not occur. What if King Louis XVI chose to actually pay close attention to the troubles of his kingdom? Instead of indulging in the glitz and glory of the established and failing French monarchy.
