255 BC[]

The relations among the three Roman houses are strengthened.

Carthaginian Republic loses a large amount of war, fishing and trade ships, during a massive hurricane and storm.

The significant and obscure amount of snowfall has led the Scythian and Nordic Tribes to lose many farms and people.

Iberian Tribes discover more silver veins in northeastern Iberia.

  • Thracians: The Thracians, led by King Byzas, who is beloved by his people, send NAP's to the Seleucid Empire and the Pontic Empire.  The Capital city of Byzantium is holding roughly 7,500 citizens with the entire nation holding roughly 100,000 Thracians, with Tylis holding the highest population of citizens at 17,500.  The army is roughly around 3500 troops strong, with the navy around 2500 with over 400 battle ready ships consisting of ten fleets of 40 ships.  The year is spent training and developing the Military and the Navy as more ships are being built for the Thracian Navy.  A few minor conflicts begin to develop around the borders between the Thracian Empries and the Scythians (their south western plot), increasing tension between the two nations, however no acts of violence have been ordered from either government.
  • Pontic Empire Dip: We accept an NAP of ten years. No more than that.
  • Hey Cheese, it clearly states you have 7500 in your capital. Your city: Tylis has 17,500. I think you mixed em up. SwankyJ (talk) 00:54, May 6, 2014 (UTC)
  • Gothca Cheeseball007 (talk) 01:11, May 6, 2014 (UTC)
  • House of Scipio: The leader of the House, Gaius Scipio, increases the military as many hastati are being produced. Gaius has a son, Cornelius Scipio. The increased relations and bond between the other Romans leads to fortified trade routes being guarded by forts. The faction takes advantage of Carthage's weak navy, blockading their ports at Lilybaeum. An NAP is requested with the Greek city-states.
  • Celtic Tribes: The chieftains of Éire receive blessings from druids in an upcoming exploration of the east (OTL Wales) where their brethren reside. (As far as I know, Wales was Celtic now, so it'd be plausible for some Celts to know that). The tribes, primarily those near bodies of water, develop their navy and thus the economy through increased naval trade and fishing.
  • Egypt: The royal dynasty of the Ptolemies continues to solidify its grip over Egypt and its people. THe training of the troops in the phalanx formation continues in order to make sure that the formation is the standard method of war in the armed forces. Native troops are also raised and trained in the same formation, but discrimination still happens between the Greeks and the Egyptians. Trade continues to be expanded thanks to the canal. A NAP is requested with the Seleucid Empire.
  • Persia: we work on our military, mainly archers. Our king has been scavenging for more gold mines, as we are looking for a trading partners. We request a trade deal with Egypt.

254 BC[]

The Nordic Tribes suffer more population losses due to the continued farming shortage

Carthage, the city, begins to undergo rebellions due to the lack of action responded to the House of Scipio.

The Thracian Empire begins to encounter severe incursions with the Scythian peoples, as small skirmishes have begun to ignite

The Thracians lose 5% of their navy due to large storms, which was from the effects of the same that hit Lilybaeum

Mining of Iron in Getae has given the Thracians a large economic boost, and enabling them to reinforce their military

House of Scipio's trade routes are successful, linking with the other Roman Houses, giving them a boost as well

Rome sees a enormous surge in population, as much migration from the foot hills has been centered to the capital

Iberia's economy shoots through the roof, on the discovery of huge deposits of silver mines and veins are found

  • Gallic Tribes: Chief Lannidult expands the military and economy. As the population begins to rise with much success in hunting and farming has occurred.
  • House of Julius: Tiberius Julius is not one for war, as he is a genius when it comes to making the people happy as well as making smart choices for the House to gain economic advantages due to trade and naval tendencies.
  • Macedonian Empire: King Antiochus has seen signs of sickness when he walks through the capital, Thessalonica. He fears if a plague may begin. Meanwhile, Macedonian requests an alliance with the Thracians. And will give them control of Bylazora, if they will help them defend from the Greeks, Seleucids, and Dacians. Military is expanded.
  • Celtic Tribes: The Celt explorers arrive in Cymru/Wales and wish to begin trade with the tribes there (mod reponse). The navy is further expanded, as is the infrastructure.
  • Yes trading is allowed with a tribe that would be similar in culture, approved.
  • Nordic Tribes: With farming land in short supply many of the tribes fight over control of the little lands available. Amongst the tribes the Svae and the Ulra grow larger as they defeat and absorb other tribes, while the Laev begin increasing their presence at sea attempting to secure a living through pillaging and fishing raiding the Germanic tribes in northern europe and along the coast of OTL Frieland. Almost all of the tribes use bronze at this point while some tribes further to the north continue to use even more obsolete materials, with none of the tribes having been exposed to iron weapons or med sea cultures.
  • Carthaginian Republic: We increase our military and navy. Luol Mago become king of the nation after his parents death. We expand our nation east taking Nepte the one next to us. Ships are being build for our navy. We focus mostly on farming and trade. Our main language is a mix of Greek and Italian. We ask for an alliance with Greek city-states, Egypt and Roman Empire. Our main religion is the same as the Greeks. A main castle for the king is being built. Walls and outposts are being built around the capital city. Temples are being build for praying. Ports are being built for more trade.
  • you need an algo, unless it is a dark grey, which it is not. SwankyJ (talk) 20:46, May 7, 2014 (UTC) and you can only take one. As you cannot travel that far in one year.
    • House of Scipio Dip: We will agree to an alliance if we are given either the province in Iberia or Sicily.
    • Carthage Dip: We will not give you land, but we will give you medical and military aid when you need it.
  • House of Brutus: Marcus Brutus is more warlike than Julius, however, he has no animosity towards over Romans. Nay, for he has a deep seated belief that Rome should rule over all of the World. As such, he begins to upgrade the Navy, as the key to ruling all is to dominate the Sea. After the Navy begins to be upgraded, Brutus leaves it be. It will continue to be improved over the next decade or so. As he prepares for another days work, his eyes alight on a rather Slovenly Roman Soldier. He smiles. He knows what to turn his attention to next year ... He accepts the Carthaginian Alliance, and sends an emissary to negotiate, and to secretly check out the Carthaginian Fleet, and how difficult Carthage would be to invade.
  • House of Scipio: Gaius Scipio proposes a deal with the Greek Cities. They will gain an alliance and trade rights, as well as Brutus' military help to take down the Macedonian Empire. If the Greeks give claims to Segestica to Brutus, and give the city of Syracuse to Scipio. We expand our navy and military. We use our boosted economy to produce more houses and buildings in Rome, to provide more encouragement to migrate to the capital. We declare war on the Carthaginian Republic. We request an alliance with Numidia.
    • Numidia: Accepts the offer for an alliance.
  • Egypt: The nation accepts the trade agreement of the Persians, and while considering the offer of the Carthaginians, decides that an alliance is too close of a relationship right now and that a closer trade alliance would be better first. The military continues to train in the phalanx formation. The population rises as profitable harvests and agricultural yields increase the food supply. The navy increases in size, and the nation considers the possibility of reclaiming lost land in southern Anatolia.
  • Greece: We expand our military. Soldiers train with headless spears to improve their reactions during a real battle. Construction of a short wall around the major cities begins. Inf and 'Mil Turn
  • Thracians:  We use our boosted economy to help build up the army.  King Byzas has begun the process of imposing tariffs on ships traveling through the straits between Byzantium and Pergamum, and Byzantium and Nicomedia to all non allied vessels.  This helps to boost the economy of the state further.  King Byzas sends diplomats to Thessalonica to humbly reject the offer of the Macedonians to ally.  The tension building in the north with the Scythians comes to a head as King Byzas waits the year out and plans to Invade Scythia next year, but takes action by blocking the main harbor of Scythia with three fleets of ships to prevent any trading in and out of that port.  Diplomats are sent to the Greek city-states and the Seleucid Empire to help them fight Macedonia for the Greek City and Armenia and Egypt for the Seleucid Empire in an attempt to become allies with the two powers and to open up trade with the two.

253 BC[]

The plague hits Macedonia like a ram to a gate. Over 3000 die in the first year. And the conditions only become worse. Thessalonica has lost 2000 people, as Larissa has lost 1000

Egypt sees major military reforms with the chariot being largely added to the mix in the military as it supports the Greek Phalanx suedo of troops (+3 to mil for seven years)

Greek city-states begins to suffer uprisings in Cyprus and Syracuse as the people feel a large distance from the capital of Sparta, as many wish to see Athens as the new capital. Although Syracuse wants Sparta and Cyprus wants Athens. Whichever is chosen, the other has made it very clear it will break away.

The Gallic Tribes begin to grow bloodthirsty, as they ache for the thrill of battle. Many warbandsmen encourage High Chief Lannidult to declare war on the House of Julii

The rebellions in the Carthaginian Republic have greatly increased. As the sudden adoption of Greek and ITALIAN? Become instituted. The world is curious as to what Italian is, as it as roots to Latin. The people raid and pillage the academies, barracks, and temples of the capital, Carthage. The temple of Baal is desecrated

Nordic Tribes see a positive output of food this year, as the population slowly begins to stablize the economy slightly begins to show signs of prosperity

  • Thracians: King Byzas has become fed up with the skirmishes along the Scythian border and declares war on Scythia. Using the fleets of ships already stationed outside of the Scythian port an additional two fleets are sent to aid in the effort as the army is sent to go to war over the land. (MOD RESPONSE WITH ALGO). The year is spent sending troops to combat and building the economy through the tax points in the straits around Byzantium. Still waiting to hear back from Seleucid and Greek city-states to hear back with ally deals.
    • Seleucid Dip: We deny your alliance request. We request an alliance with the Macedonian Empire.
    • Macedonian Dip: We accept your alliance, and request support to now bring down Thracians.
    • Greek City-states Dip: We request an alliance, in order to gain land from the Macedonians and Seleucids.
  • Carthaginian Republic: We increase our military and navy. Ships are being build for our navy. We focus mostly on farming and trade. A main castle for the king is being built. Walls and outposts are continuing to be built around the capital city. Temples are continuing to be build for praying. Ports are continuing to be built for more trade. We also declare war on the House of Scipio. Since they started it we want to fight them and give them their money's worth. We are happy the House of Brutus Accepts the alliance.
  • Celtic Tribes: After trade increases with the tribes of Cymru, we offer a mutual defense pact, creating an alliance between the Celtic tribes and the tribes of Cymru. The military and economy expands.
  • House of Scipio: We ask the House of Brutus to assist our Roman soldiers, to help us fight Carthage, in turn for support in fighting Macedonia, Greece, and Thrace. We ask that they betray the alliance with Carthaginian Republic. We also call on aid from Numidia, to help us fight Carthage, promising land in mostly all of Africa. We expand our military and navy, improving our economy with trade routes. We invade Lilybaeum.
    • Palma: We expand the infrastructure. The city sees large population growth, with much migration from Iberia, to those that wish to become Roman citizens. The economy also expands forcing Iberians to stop at Palma before the rest of the Mediterranean, and force them to pay silver.
    • Numidia Dip: We accept Scipio's offer and declare war on the Carthaginian Republic.
    • Greek City-states Dip: We accept Scipio's offer. We will give them Syracuse, and establish Athens as the new capital.
  • Greek City-states: We expand our military and declare war on the Macedonian Empire. Making an example of our power by invading the coastal city in the south, Cyrene. The navy and economy is expanded as much blockade and taxing has come from the islands of Greek states. Sparta begins to simmer down, as Syracuse no longer is under their reign, and lies in the hands of the House of Scipio, in return for military and naval support.
  • Numidia: King Gala begins to organize the Numidian people. He starts by convincing all other Numidian chiefs, who de jure owed fealty to the King, to swear fealty in person at which time they were granted various tracts of lands dependent upon the size of the chief's contingent. Then, work on the capital city of Cirta begins, trying to make it as modern as Rome and Carthage. After Scipio is dragged into a war, Gala quickly aids his ally and declares war on Carthage. The military is then mobilized and the famous cavalry helps Numidia make massive gains. Expansion into Corduba begins. The military increases in proficiency as a result of the ongoing war, and the economy picks up as trade with Carthage is cut off.
  • Seleucid Empire: We declare on the Thracian Empire, and begin to build siege equipment. Massing armies of onagers in the west.
  • British Tribes: Fighting between the tribes continues, with five tribes emerging as the most powerful.

252 BC[]

The plague in Macedonia continues. Four thousand are lost in Thessalonica alone. Down south, in Larissa, 2000 fall victim to the plague. With efforts of the King and the government to confine and quarantine the disease, it begins to slow down the death toll. Although the population continues to drop.

Nordic Tribes see prosperity in fishing and trade with other small northern tribes (+2 Eco for 2 turns).

The republic of Carthage begins to collapse from within, riots in Carthago Nova, in western Iberia have broken out. With the King Harbudal, still not doing anything, the land begins to shift in full upheaval (-5 inf for 7 turns).

With the riots in Carthage, the House of Scipio decides to focus its attenions elsewhere, not wanting to walk into riotous territories. Gaius Scipio makes reforms to the military, the Triarii (spear unit) are used more effectively, being massed to deal with opposing cavalry. The rest of the houses also adopt this strategy. Gaius is looked upon more as a military commander, much like Tiberius Brutus, while the Julius House, is less so.

Iberia begins to prosper and begins to build its military, invading Scallabis and Valena. Expanding the great peninsula. They have taken up to allying with their northern neighbors, the Gallic Tribes.

Sparta begins to grow less restless, as Athens seems to be excelling as the new capital.

  • Nordic Tribes: The Nordic tribes continue fight amongst themselves however the Seav and a few others begin to gain strength as they subjugate several of the other tribes. While the Ulra and Laev continue to pillage the coastline of Continental Europe. The Laev begin making moves on the Jutland Peninsula as they look for arable land. The Svea begin building ships as well and raiding of the OTL Baltic begins.
  • Celtic Tribes: After trade increases with the tribes of Cymru, we offer a mutual defense pact, creatings an alliance between the Celtic tribes and the tribes of Cymru (needs mod response). The military and economy expands.
  • agreed SwankyJ (talk) 19:01, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
  • Carthaginian Republic: We increase our military and navy. Ships are being build for our navy. We focus mostly on farming and trade. A main castle for the king is continuing to be built. Walls and outposts are continuing to be built around the capital city. Temples are continuing to be built for praying. Ports are continuing to be built for more trade. To stop the riots we attack the leaders of the riots and put them in prison. We tell the rest of the people that if you do not listen to us we will kill all of you.
  • I'm sorry, your nation is dealing with major revolts. You can not stop it just like that.
  • Thracians: We accept the terms of the Greek city-states alliance and spend the year developing infrastructure especially in newly captured Scythia and military, building onagers for siege. We plan to ally the Greek city-states if they choose to invade Macedonia or if they are invaded.  Our population keeps growing and reaches 109,000 at the end of the year. King Byzas appoints Thylius as the head general of the army and Greivus as the head general of the navy. He also appoints Librus II as captain of the army and Syris Pontis as the Captain of the navy. We also send an alliance offer to the Pontic Empire offering them aid in wars. MIL AND INFRA TURN
  • Pontic Dip: We deny the offer. We have an NAP ATM, and it will remain that way, for now.
  • Egypt: As the Greek city-states become more and more polarized, Egypt sees an opportunity and decides to support the faction that does not own Cyprus, as Egypt is eager to regain its lost province. Egypt also begins to send forces into Syria, taking advantage of the lack of stable government there. While it could worsen relations with the Seleucids, it is thought to not be a major issue as they would retain control of Antioch.
  • House of Scipio: Gaius Scipio now turning away from the Carthaginian Republic for the time being, focuses his efforts in Greece. Requesting the land in Crete and Rhodes for total military support in fighting the Macedonians. We help the House of Julius take down Mediolanium.

    • Lilybaeum: We expand the infrastructure as well as the economy.
    • Syracuse: We expand the infrastructure as well as the military.

  • Macedonian Empire: We donate Corinth to Greeks and Cyrene to House of Scipio, in a joint agreement to not attacking us for 15 years. We attempt to slow the plague, we expand the military and the infrastructure.
  • Seleucid Empire: We declare war on the Pontic Empire and the Thracian Empire. We request an alliance with Armenia and Egypt. We expand the military and navy. The economy is expanded. We continue the construction of siege equipment.
  • Pontic Empire: We increase our population and expand our military and infrastructure. We prepare for the upcoming eastern war.

251 BC[]

The plague in Macedonia begins to slow down, although 3,500 people are announced dead caused by the plague alone. Macedonia begins to see instability, as the King has done only little to stop the spread.

British Tribes in the north, begin to continue to fight, as now one tribe begins to gain a very large upperhand, as a second is in a close range to achieving the first.

Egypt begins to grow weary of the war to the north, as it decides if it shall abstain or take a side in the war.

What war?

haahaha MP, you have been too inactive. The one with Seleucids + Armenia vs Greeks + Thracians + Scipio + Brutus

Armenia joins the war siding with the Seleucid Empire, and encourages its ally, Egypt, to join them.

The Persian Empire's current Emperor and ruler, is overthrown as the Safavid Dynasty begins to be established, and the Parthian Dynasty begins to crumble. The new rulers are much more ambitious, desiring much land, and announcing to crush any whom stand in their path.

With land falling to the Romans in the west, action begins to take place, as many alliances are beginning to be drawn up to combat the powerhouses of Italy.

Segestica falls under the influence of the House of Brutus, as it is humbily bribed.

Iberia's influences proves to be a thorn, as Corduba falls under its grasp, including help from the Gallic Tribe, their ally, in taking Narbo Martius, in return for military support in the war with the House of Julius.

Valena succumbs to the House of Scipio's influence. The city-state becomes the foothold of Iberia, as the main and strongest base throughout the Empire, being garrisoned with thousands of legionnaires and Triarii.

Meanwhile, Dacian, Germanic, Gallic, Scythia, and Armenian peoples succeed in gaining large pieces of land, largely expanding their empires, over the years as they have been preparing their armies.

  • Gallic Tribes: With many tribes in Gaul the chief of the Parisii tribe declares himself king of the Gauls in OTL Paris claiming that as his territory. He slowly settles down and encourages more of his men to become farmers. He begins slowly (100 years or less until unity) uniting the tribes under him as the head. His army expands.
  • not a place.
  • Celtic Tribes: We expand our economy and navy. A pact is offered to one of the British tribes in the north (the one geographically closer to the celts). This will allow trade and military assistance for the British tribes (mod response) The Celts, after developing better relations with the people of Cymru, offer the arrangement of marriages between the Celtic men and women and the men and women of Cymru, hoping to bring the tribes closer (again, mod response)
  • fair enough, this will result, in Wales becoming under Celtic Tribe rule. Approved.
  • Carthaginian Republic: We increase our military and navy. Ships are being build for our navy. We focus mostly on farming and trade. A main castle for the king is continuing to be built. Walls and outposts are continuing to be built around the capital city. Temples are continuing to be build for praying. Ports are continuing to be built for more trade. With the revolts going on, we pay the people in silver coins to stop them from revolting. Also we try to improve civil rights and make more freedoms in our country. We expand into the the territory Thamidi and Dimmidi. (If I need and algo can a mod do it for me please. Since it is unowned territory I think I can just expand into it.)
  • I can do it for you. SwankyJ (talk) 22:40, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
  • Thracians: With war looming, diplomats are sent to the Pontic Empire as Seleucid has declared war on our two countries at the same time.  We encourage Pontus to ally with us at least for this upcoming war as it would put Thrace and Pontus against Armenia and Seleucids instead of two separate battles giving us a better chance of success, promising them split land giving Sardis to Thrace and all of Halicarnassus to Pontus finally giving them a Mediterranean port. With our onagers for siege finished, King Byzas orders the General of the Army, Thylius to increase in size of the army to 15,000 strong by recruiting and training eligible men to defend the country.  The population booms over the year and hits roughly 114,000 people at the close of the year.  Infrastructure is also increased as the Scythian province is beginning to become settled with their new nation. Diplomats are also sent to House of Scipio to request an alliance as they are allied with Greek city-states and request back up in the upcoming war for future military aid in any combat against Macedonia, Seleucids or Carthage.
    • Pontic Empire Dip: Pontus refuses to align with the Thracians. If any more empty attempts are tried, the Pontic Empire will declare war on the Thracians.
    • House of Scipio Dip: We deny an alliance. As we have no trifle with the Seleucids. We will help if land in Greece is promised. We wish to occupy Larissa, the second largest city in Greece.

    • Seleucid Dip: We accept.

  • House of Scipio: We openly engage in naval warfare with Carthage crushing them. With our allies, Numidia not helping in the war. We neglect the rights until confronted and invade Thapsus and Leptis Magna. Our military increases as well as the economy. With a population boom in Rome still occurring Latium now reaches a total population of 52,000. With Rome numbering 44,000 people.
    • Palma: We expand the infrastructure and economy, as the population increases to 3500 becoming a large town.
    • Carthago Nova: We expand our infrastructure and military.
    • Valena: We expand our infrastructure and military.
    • Lilybaeum: We begin to become part of the Empire. We expand our infrastructure and economy.
    • Syracuse: We begin to become part of the Empire. We expand the infrastructure and navy.
    • Cyrene: We expand the infrastructure and military in the region. As Greek navies have been patrolling our waters keeping the bay safe, as part of our agreement.
    • Crete: We expand our economy and navy. Now becoming an ally of the Thracian Empire, we are able to acquire much wealth from their trade routes.
    • Carthage: Gaius Scipio considers burning the mega city to the ground, but falters, on account of its beauty. He begins to rebuild all which has been destroyed. And replacing the devastation with Roman buildings and architecture. Making the god of the city now Neptune.

Rome continues to see a population boom, as the surrounding territories: Arretium (J), Capua (S), Croton (B), and Tarentum (B), begin to feel the affects of the boom, and their populations begin to climb.

To the north, the Nordic Tribes, begin to prosper after the hard winters, and begin claiming the northern peninsula and the east coast.

OTL Wales, now under a marriage pact with the Celtic Tribes' prince, has joined the faction.

Numidia's territory, Siwa, begins to see much Egyptian influence, as the Egyptians, have spread themselves out to the neighboring territories.

The Greek City-states are pronounced with the finest navy in the world. Sparta, now with the fourth largest military, containing 4000 men in one small regiment.

Cyprus also begins to see much Egyptian affection, as the influence derived from the great Nile Kingdom has hit them like a force.

Persian Empire's new rulers, the Sassanids, begin to start their campaign, invading Phraaspa and Dumatha.

  • Celtic tribes: With marriage organized with the Cymru tribes, the Celts settled there begin expanding towards the south. The ties with the northern British tribe are strengthened, and the Celts expect the tribe to gain an upper hand soon enough. The economy and infrastructure is expanded to cope with these events.

Walls and outposts are continuing to be built around the capital city. Temples are continuing to be build for praying. Ports are continuing to be built for more trade. Last of the riots end. Due to a tie in the war both us and our enemy lose a bunch of troops. We set up trade routes to Egypt to trade with them.
  • How can you continue building walls around the capital? You lost Carthage.
  • I meant to say the new capital city.
  • Where would that capital be?
  • Somewhere in the middle of my land.
  • Ahahah what? It would be Leptis Magna, as that is his next largest city. SwankyJ (talk) 21:15, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
  • Thracians: Our population increases to 115,000 With war looming we increase our mikitary and infrastructure in preparations for the war and massing troops and naval ships around pergamum prepared to attack. Mil and Infra turn.
    • Algo is done. I will post, but Seleucids took Pergamum. SwankyJ (talk) 19:43, May 14, 2014 (UTC)
    • :( VENDETTA!

    • ^That goes to the (in)famous quotes page
    • Agreed
  • Egypt: Egypt begins to finish up its military operations in Syria as the Seleucids are distracted elsewhere. • Good look Sky, yes at this time the only thing separating the two of you is your one main religious preference, yours is Andrasta, and his is Briganta. So you also have two similar gods. So yeah, a plausible marriage will be accepted, although this would not give you control of the nation, until the chief dies, and a son is born.
    • Of course not, I had not expected it to happen either. I know how this things work, but I still gain influence over them -Sky

Thusly, tribes start to change from bands numbering around 10-30 to groups with close to a hundred fighting men with associated non-combatants (usually a fifty-fifty split). While no raids of significance occur, tribal leaders band together and recognize what they can accomplish with this newfound force. Bog-Iron gathering and smelting continues to be the primary source of weapons for Germanic raiding parties. Recent unifications of small tribes prompts additional demand for bog-iron resulting in semi-permanent residences and settlements around bogs. Focus centered on military and infrastructure.

    • Leptis Magna: We expand our military and infrastructure, and prepare for Emperor Gaius Scipio, to come and finish off Hanno, and his dying Republic. We merge into the Empire.
