Andrew, Crown Prince of America (Andrew Augustus Robert George; born 2 April 1972) is the heir apparent to the American throne as the eldest son of Edward II. He has been heir apparent as well as Crown Prince since 1980 when his great grandfather died.

Royal life and military service[]

Prince Andrew was born at 3:32 p.m. on 2 April 1972 in White Palace, Washington City, as the only son and eldest child of Crown Prince Edward and Princess Lucille. His birth was the only one witnessed by his father as he was on tour in Russia during the birth of Princess Eleanor.

Just like his grandfather and great-grandfather, Andrew was educated at Phillips Academy in Massachusetts, where he captained the school baseball team from 1987 to 1990. Upon graduating in 1991, Andrew enlisted in the US navy, just like his father. He was attached to a U.S. Marine Corps unit until he enrolled in Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL (BUD/S) class 252 to become a Navy SEAL in 1994.

During his service, he was decorated for valor several times, including three Bronze Stars. He received positive evaluations from his superiors within the SEALs, and served as an instructor in the SEALs BUD/S program for recruits. Andrew was involved in some controversies and investigations, but rarely received formal reprimands.

As Crown Prince, Andrew has met various world leaders and attended the inauguration of every President but Joe Lieberman (Andrew was in Australia at the time of Lieberman’s shock ascension which left little time for him to travel back).

Marriage and Children[]

As heir to the American throne, there was much speculation over who Andrew would marry. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s until his marriage, Andrew was described as America’s “most eligible bachelor” owing to his good looks and high status.

In 1996, Andrew was accompanied on a shooting trip in South Africa by Henrietta Pearce and soon after the couple announced they were dating. However in 1998, White Palace announced that the two had parted ways. In 2001, Andrew was seen dating Eugenie Kennedy, however this caused controversy as her father, John F. Kennedy, had been the Democrats nominee for President in 1964, meaning that some took this as a potential political endorsement. Later on in 2001, Andrew was photographed embracing Rosemary Delano, leading to much speculation as to whether they were romantically involved. In 2002, King Edward announced that the pair were engaged. They were wed on 1 July 2003, with the day being declared a national holiday. They have two children:

  • Prince Henry Edward Robert George (24 November 2004)
  • Prince Christian Augustus Andrew Charles (13 February 2006)
