Military
The military has 65,200 active soldiers, and 17,500 reserve soldiers between the five branches of the armed forces. The Army and Navy are the largest branches, while the Special Forces and Marine Corps are the smallest. The government Department of the Interior operates the Argentine National Gendarmerie and the Argentine Coast Guard for national defense and search and rescue.
