Argentina, officially República Argentina is a country located in southeastern South America, where it borders Chile in the west and Brazil and Bolivia in the north and northeast of the country. It has access to the sea from the Atlantic Ocean. It is made up of 23 provinces, its capital and largest cities being Buenos Aires. The country is the third largest in Latin America, surpassed only by the Mexican Empire and Brazil, is also the third largest country in territorial extension in the Latin Union.
Argentina claims a part of Antarctica, overlapping the claims of Chile and the Kingdom of Portugal on the Antarctic continent, even after all claims were suspended by the 1967 Antarctic Treaty. The country has a maritime island, the Falkland Islands, where after the French defeat in the Great World War. With the 1969 coup d'état, Ruan Perion transformed the country into a great power in means of transport and human development, leaving office in 1985 where he succeeded to his wife.
