Atari, Inc. is an American multinational consumer electronics and software conglomerate headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. One of the largest and most valuable corporations in the world, Atari is a producer of mass-market personal desktop, laptop and tablet computer devices, video game systems, smart TVs, arcade games and a number of popular app technologies. Within the video game world, Atari is one of the Big Four console developers along with Xbox, Nintendo, and Sega, and pioneered the cross-platform compatible games that worked on both its own PCs and its game systems with the same disc. Despite falling behind on console sales, it retains a major position in the personal computer space, particularly in the tablet computer space with its best-selling Atari Scribe device.
