The Nation of Austria, as with many others, needs weights and measures to survive in any real way. Currencies, accountings, everything that relates to the economy is destined to go back eventualy to some measurement or another. To maintain a Cohesive State, you must first make a cohesive way to measure your economy, in a synchronized and methodical way. To this end, Archduke Albert IV of Austria was the first to standardize all the disperate the weights and measures of his realms in 1403, with the ultimate purpose of creating a cohesive and reliable system of measurement for years to come, especially when concerning currency.
