BRICS is the acronym for an association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Originally the first four were grouped as "BRIC" (or "the BRICs"), before the induction of South Africa in 2010. Although BRICS is not an official organization, or has yet to be one, it nonetheless functions similar to an economic organization between the five member states.
Because of the ongoing Chinese Insurgency from 2015 onwards, the likely collapse of the People's Republic Republic of China has caused concern from the International Monetary Fund and the BRICS members themselves on how to move on in the absence of the PRC.
