A Short History of Bactria[]
Bactria was a province of Parthia which was annexed into the Roman Empire after the conquest of the Parthian Kingdom. Bactria was a mountainous region, and its main source of economic activity was in the city of Bactra, for which the province is named. Bactria had connections with the Hindu Empire of the Maurya, much like their sister Province of Arachosia, and was similarly diverse in its religious and linguistic demographics.
