Bahia, officially the Sabine Republic of Bahia (Portuguese: República Sabina da Bahia), is a constitutional presidential republic located in East South American coast. It is bordered by the Equatorian Confederation by the north, San Paulo by the west and south, and the Atlantic Ocean by the east.

Bahia became independent under the name of Bahian Republic (República Bahiense), during the Sabinada Revolution , a rebellion mainly led by Francisco Sabino and João Carneiro da Silva Rego.

After the revolution, Portugal declared war in Bahia, which was defending their independence. During the war, San Paulo recognized the recent established republic, supporting, and eventually, defending them during the war.
