The Balkan League (BL) was a political and economic union of 8 member states that are located in continental Europe and the Balkan region. The members cooperated in a number of fields, including politics, culture and economics.

With the fall of the Soviet Union, East European nations gained their independence from the communist governments of the Soviet Union. The nations of Bulgaria, Dacia, Serbia, and Rhomania formed the League on March 10, 1976, as a sole economic alliance to help the damaged economies of the Balkan nations with its first secretary general being future Rhomanian Prime Minister Pegarius Lascaris. Montenegro joined the League in 1980, and the Kingdom of Croatia and Slovenia (although part of Danubia), alongside Bosnia joined in 1981. Moldova joined the League in 1991, after the civil war. In the ongoing Second Cold War, the Balkan League had adopted pro-Western policies to counter-attack the potential aggression of BRAC. After rising tensions in late 2021, Bulgaria withdrew from the League. In August 2022, with the signing of the Paris Agreement, it was merged with the Latin League and the British Isle Community to form the European Union as a multi-rival of the Germanic League.

Unlike the Germanic League, the Balkan League had not adopted any language as its official lingua franca.
