The Balleny Islands (Maori: Wahaloa) is a territory of New Zealand located off the coast of Bellinsgauzenia.
Etymology[]
The native name of the islands is Wahaloa, which literally means "gateway" (in reference to being the gateway to Antarctica). The English name for the islands were named after English whaler John Balleny.
