At the early morning of the 16th of August. DPR forces launched a surprise attack on Ukrainian positions at Polkove. They bombarded Ukrainian defences at the nearby buildings and dismantled Ukrainian entrenchments as they near the town square. With the town almost under DPR hands, 40 Ukrainian soldiers came out of the nearby treeline and struck at the flanks of the now surrounded DPR forces and we're massacred in the process with only a few of "B" Company escaping. The Ukrainians followed behind towards Anadol and Starohnativka.
Counter-Attack
After the failed attack on Ukrainian positions, 75-80 Ukrainian troops followed behind the retreating DPR forces with 4 ACP's and 1 Tank. They destroyed and dismantled DPR fighting vehicles in the process, destroying all the DPR's armored capabilities. The battle ended with the Ukrainians re-capturing Anadol and H20 North of Mariupol as well as Starohnativka in the south which caused a massive impact on DPR morale.
