The Battle of Warsaw was the final showdown of the Russo-Polish war between the Russian Republic and Kingdom of Poland. Despite Poland having been crippled time and time again in battles (Moscow, Tsaritsyn, Astrakhan, Jumprava) they always managed to recover. The battle was preceded by the Polish tactical victory at Masovia which allowed the citizens of Warsaw to prepare defenses and turn the Polish capital into a fortress. Despite facing odds of 9 to 1, the Poles resisted for 18 days, and only surrendered when the Polish king lost all hope and took his own life. The Russians took unfathomable casualties in the battle, but this battle ended the war.
