Flag of California (no words)

The flag of the California Republic, adopted in 1911.

On June 23 1846, a military operation to take back Alta California from the Bear Flag rebels was taken out by the United States. The United States president, Henry Clay, called off the operation to turn the territory into United States territory, and instead turned the republic into a satellite nation. The California Republic, under the administration of the puppet President William Ide, would co-operate with United States interests until 1911, when the embassy of the USA was closed by order of the Californian Congress and the failed War of Californian Submission ensued.

The California Republic still has no embassy to the United States, but travel is not restricted. California is recognized by all countries except North Korea, and it is a member of the United Nations.
