Premise

It has currently been exactly one year since the signing of the Congress of Vienna, and the definitive end of Napoleon's dream for a French Empire to rule the continent of Europe. Many in Europe believe that the Congress of Vienna would secure harmony and peace in Europe for centuries to come. Though the sands of time, and the annals of history would have to disagree with the people of Europe.

Rules

1. Turns will initially be one year each, and six months during major wars.
2. Be plausible. No ASB stuff, no wanking. State your plans before posting if they're major.
3. Claim before you take a turn
4. Save as a .PNG in the format [Beautiful Vienna, Year, Username]
5. Try to include more than just military or colonial events in your turns. A bit of cultural or scientific color never hurts. Any posts that are just three lines about wars are not acceptable and will probably not be accepted.
6. Try to keep the butterfly effect in mind when making characters - people born after the POD are unlikely to exist at all, let alone take the same role they did IOTL. (*cough* Adolf Hitler *cough*).
7. No Ideological Wanks.
8. People born around the POD can change depending on circumstances.
9. You have 24 hours per turn. If your turn is not up within the 24 hours with a map and turn details, and do not communicate with me, you will be given a one week ban. Those who fail to communicate for a second time with be perma-banned. No questions.
10. No turn swapping unless both parties agree, and it is brought to my attention. If one of those players is offline, don't bring it up.
11. If you wish to be dropped in the claim order, and or cannot make it this turn communicate with me. Failure to do so will result in punishment.
12. For the love of all that is holy, place the newest map under the World Map with a caption.

• Robert Stirling patents his Stirling engine, at this time known as Stirling's air engine.
• A rail capable of supporting a heavy locomotive is developed.

Americas

• The United States has just celebrated 40 years of complete independence from the British crown. Within the year the Indiana Territory is admitted as a state and joins the union officially and earns a place on the Star- Spangled Banner. As well, Democratic-Republican James Monroe successfully wins the Presidency against Federalist candidate Rufus King. One of his platforms is to promote exploration and expansion westward, which helps drive the westward expansion.
• E. Remington and Sons is founded in the United States.
• In Canada, at the Battle of Seven Oaks the much larger Metis force is slaughtered by the Hudson Bay Company, and Cuthbert Grant the leader of the Metis people is killed in the fighting.
• The Spanish revolutions continue to run across the Spanish colonies. The revolutionaries gaining ground in many places. The ideas of independence even reaching the United Provinces of Rio de la Plata. The events of the Spanish Revolutions however, cause the Spanish crown to force talks with many of their colonial representatives, to those still loyal, about representation.
• A small Russian exploration team is sent to explore eastward from their territory already existent in Alyeska.

Europe

• The University of Warsaw is founded.
• Leopold of Saxe-Coburg marries Charlotte Augusta of Saxony, and are expecting a child the next year.
• Lord Byron, Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, Percy Bysshe Shelley and John Polidori, gathered at the Villa Diodati by Lake Geneva in a rainy Switzerland, tell each other tales. This gives rise to two classic Gothic narratives, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Polidori's The Vampyre.
• The thrones of Sicily and Naples collectively merge into the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies under the rule of King Ferdinand I.

Asia

• The British Empire declare war on the Marathan Empire. Both sides going through a slog fest. The Marathans are able to supply many more troops to the front lines than the British can reinforce.
• Tensions rise in between both Arabia and Egypt over the claims of Mecca and western Arabia.
• The Russian Empire continues their slow expansion into Siberia.

Africa

• The French passenger ship Medusa runs aground off the coast of Senegal, with 140 lives lost in the botched rescue that takes weeks, leading to a scandal in the French government. Due to the Medusa crashing near Portuguese port cities and African vassals, many amongst the French government begin shifting the blame on Portuguese sabotage.
• Sigujana kaSezangakhona, the son of Senzangakhona kaJama becomes the King of the Zulu, and is blessed by the tribe shaman to live a healthy and long life.

Oceania

• Not much occurs in this region besides minor expansion from the British and French.

• Construction on the Erie Canal in New York, the first major engineering work in North America, begins.
• The Pernambucan Revolt occurs in Brazil, sparking the first fires of colonial rebellion on Portuguese America.
• Mississippi is admitted as the 20th U.S. state, formerly the Mississippi Territory. However, before this, Mississippi territory had been split in two, creating Alabama Territory.

Europe

• Grand Duke Charles of Baden dies, resulting in the bequeathing of Baden to the Kingdom of Bavaria.
• A major earthquake strikes Palermo, Sicily.
• The first bicycle is invented in Mannheim by German inventor Karl Drais.

Asia

• Emperor Ninko accedes to the throne of Japan.
• The British Empire continues their war in India against the Maratha Empire. Although struggling in 1816, the British start to easily overcome any resistance, inflicting severe losses on the Marathans, although they have a much larger numerical advantage.
• Tensions continue to rise in between both Arabia and Egypt over the claims of Mecca and western Arabia.
• The Russian Empire continues expansion into Siberia.

• The famed Christmas carol "Silent Night" is first performed at the St. Nicolas Parish Church in Salzburg, Austria.

Americas

• In the contested territory of Florida, the famed Battle of New Orleans war hero General Andrew Jackson invades the peninsula in order to crush and destroy the Seminole Indians, which is certainly not well-received by both the British and Spanish embassies in the United States.
• Chilean diplomats and commanders in Santiago formally declare independence from the Spanish crown with the Chilean Declaration of Independence. Shortly after the document is ratified and signed by the interim Chilean government, the rebels win a solid victory against the Spaniards in the Battle of Maipú.
• During the Pernambucan Revolt in Brazil, a conflict between Portuguese infantry and Brazilian rioters turns into an outright engagement near the town of Caruaru that formally ends in a Pyrrhic victory for the Portuguese while the rioters manage to successfully retreat into northern Brazil without being pursued.
• A formal treaty is signed between British and American diplomats that establishes the 49th parallel as the border between the two nations. The ratification of the treaty by both nations in the agreement is considered to be a major political victory for the Monroe administration. However, the borders with Spain, the largely barren Pacific territory, and America's claimed territory in Maine have still not been properly defined...
• Illinois is admitted as the 21st state in the Union.

Europe

• Percy Bysshe Shelley anonymously publishes Ozymandias in London. The sonnet is ruthlessly panned by literary critics and is nowadays known as one of the worst-selling and most controversial pieces of literature in modern history.
• Meanwhile, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is also simultaneously published in London and is rather well-received after its initial release, much to the frustrated chagrin of her fellow author and husband Percy Shelley.
• In western Germany on the 5th of May, a baby boy is born to a rather well-off middle class family named Karl Marx. Unfortunately for them however, the boy dies just days after his birth due to a severe viral infection contracted shortly after birth... 
• John Ross, a British naval officer, officially begins his expedition to search for the Northwest Passage.

Asia

• 800 British East India Company soldiers manage to decisively defeat over 20,000 Maratha soldiers at the Battle of Koregaon in western India. Just days after the battle, the Treaty of Mandeswar is signed between the British and Maratha that places the former Confederacy under indirect British rule as a variety of puppet states for the time being.
• After two years of rapidly rising tensions between the two powers, Egypt launches a surprise invasion into inland Arabian territory and quickly gains territory in the largely troop-barren northern region. The Arab–Egyptian War has officially begun.
• Following a ruthless winter season, Russian expansion into Siberia has been briefly stifled throughout the year of 1818.

Africa

• French war vessels in the South Atlantic Ocean begin to harass and impress Portuguese ships and their crew following the Medusa affair, causing immediate controversy amongst the great powers of Europe. Tensions quickly begin to heat up between France and Portugal, especially between their two respective navies.

Oceania

• As a result of the Medusa affair, Britain immediately demands that France drops its claims on western Australia. The French government begrudgingly agrees mainly due to the fear of a possible Anglo–French conflict.

• Nothing actually occurs across the world. It is actually quite a peaceful time in many places.

Americas

• The SS Savannah leaves port at Savannah, Georgia on a voyage to become the first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean, although only a fraction of the trip will be made under steam. The ship arrives at Liverpool, England on June 20.
• Alabama is admitted as the 22nd U.S. state.
• Simon Bolivar helps solidify a Colombian victory and independence against the Spanish Crown after the Battle of Boyacá.
• In Mexico, revolutionary strength continues to grow, especially in southern Mexico where a government is actually set up. Meanwhile in the north, the revolutionary forces are having a much more difficult time with grabbing a foothold. Though the Mexican Independence forces find aid and supplies from the American government. As long as they are not discovered of their support of the revolutionaries, things will most likely not turn south. Due to already poor relations due to the Seminole War ongoing in the South.
• Chilean forces continue their successful campaigns across the region.
• In response to the revolutions the Spanish Crown enacts the Zaragoza Accord, which allows for the representation of more developed colonies in their empire. Such colonies that receive representation are: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Yucatan, Central America, and Panama.
• After successful expeditions into Aleyska, the Russian people begin settling further into the region. As well as sponsoring future expeditions.

Europe

• Europe for the most while is relatively quiet. With many believing that the Congress of Vienna will indeed peace in Europe forever. Even if the French and Portuguese relations are not the best currently.
• In the nation of Saxony, the young Leopold I celebrates the birth of his second child. A daughter named Christina. Just two years after the birth of his first born, a son named Johan. Leopold also begins looking at the Belgian people, a place that his blood runs through and begins having thoughts of greater deals.
• In Greece, tensions continue to grow between the Greek people and their Ottoman rulers. A rather nasty event between protestors and upset peasants and Ottoman soldiers is published world wide. The region becoming very volatile. It does not help due to the presence of the British just off the coast.

Asia

• A colonization race begins between the Dutch and Spanish in Southeast Asia. Both learning from the British mistake of not treating their colonies right is taken into heavy consideration as they continue colonizing.
• The French buy a few port cities in India.
• Egypt continues to push back Arabic forces. The Ottomans are called in as an mediator between the two nations for peace talks, but those quickly go sour.

Africa

• In Africa nothing of note occurs. Besides the French and Portuguese turning their efforts to a colonization war, instead of actively going to war over the Medusa Incident.
• The Cape Colony in Southern Africa continues to grow.

Oceania

• The Australian colony continues to grow.

1820 ~ Pyradox

World Events

• The continent of Antarctica is discovered during a Russian naval expedition. Just months later, an Irish Royal Navy officer by the name of Edward Bransfield becomes the first person to set foot on the mainland of the Arctic continent. 
• Danish chemist Hans Christian Ørsted discovers the relationship between electricity and magnetism, therefore creating Ørsted's Law.

Americas

• The year of 1820 proves to be a major year for the United States militarily, politically, and diplomatically all at the same time. The year starts with a bang following the ratification of the Adams–Onís Treaty, which formally defines the American border with Spain in the western frontier.
• Despite this initial diplomatic success, General Jackson's unlawful invasion of the Floridian peninsula still negatively resonates in the minds of many Spanish officials and as a result, Florida is never sold to the Americans. Quite a few American politicians in Congress call for outright war with Spain following this diplomatic hiccup, but the President ultimately compromises on maintaining an American claim on the Floridian peninsula for the time being.
• Meanwhile, an internal crisis flares up within the United States Congress due to the Missouri Territory wishing to be admitted as a slave state. A quick and seemingly painless compromise is eventually reached by both houses of Congress that establishes Missouri as a slave state while also turning Northern Massachusetts into the free state of Maine. Throughout this entire ordeal, the pro-slave Arkansaw Territory is established in the South.
• The incumbent President and Democratic-Republican James Monroe manages to unanimously win a second term in office despite suffering two major controversies throughout the last few months of his first term in office. The Federalists have also finally collapsed and have been completely absorbed into the Democratic-Republican behemoth for now...
• Around 90 free African-American colonists sail from the United States to the settlement of Freetown on the coast of Africa, triggering immense debate amongst the American people over whether or not free Negroes should be sent back to Africa.
• A colonial revolt is quickly crushed within the state of Guatemala in Spanish Central America, with the leaders of the rebellion swiftly being executed after the fact. The "Massacre at Totonicapán", as it is later referred to triggers immediate colonial fervor amongst the Central American population despite recently being granted regional autonomy by Spain.
• Speaking of colonial fervor, the colonial revolutions across New Spain continue to successfully trudge on, with the recent naval victory at Valdivia proving to be a major morale booster for the Chilean rebels. The state of Ecuador also becomes the next nation in the region to declare its independence from the Spanish Empire.
• The newly-created Republic of Gran Colombia under the rule of Simon Bolivar quickly gains diplomatic recognition by the United States and begins eagerly trading with the American nation. The nation's military also begins to help aid the nearby revolutionaries in Ecuador for their struggle for independence, engaging in a direct proxy war with the Spanish Empire.

Europe

• George III of the United Kingdom finally dies after ruling the British Isles for over a record 60 years on the throne, and his titles pass to his rather sedentary son George IV.
• A military uprising under the leadership of Rafael del Riego successfully stages a mutiny in the city of Cadiz and quickly marches onto Madrid, forcing the Spanish absolute monarchy to transform into a parliamentary constitutional monarchy. The great powers of Europe quickly begin to impose trade sanctions onto the liberal Spain, fearing another French Revolution.
• The Royal Astronomical Society is founded in London.
• Tensions between Greek nationalists and Ottoman officials continue to rapidly rise, with the secret organization Filiki Eteria beginning to institute a nationwide propaganda campaign across the entirety of the Greek peninsula by issuing its own regional newspaper.
• Revolutionary fervor in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies forces Ferdinand I to adopt and sign a constitution that severely limits his power as a monarch.
• The sixth edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica is published in the United Kingdom.

Asia

• The holy Islamic city of Mecca is captured by Egyptian forces after a four-month siege of the area surrounding it. The war begins to transform into a war of attrition as Egyptian forces begin to push into the arid deserts of Arabia, severely destroying the morale of the troops and causing even worse attrition.
• In response to the British completely annexing the Maratha Confederacy, the nearby Kingdom of Panjab in northern India forms an alliance with Afghanistan as an "Anti-Imperialist Coalition".

Africa

• The British continue to expand into South Africa, although small skirmishes eventually begin to erupt between British colonial officials and the local Boer settlers.
• Whilst colonizing in Africa, French and Portuguese ships begin to continue attacking and harassing one another near the coast of Madagascar. A cease-fire is eventually signed between the two nations in Paris in the autumn of 1820, formally ending the controversy following the Medusa incident.

Oceania

• British colonists continue to expand into inland Australia, with a small trade post known as Perth on the western coast of Australia beginning to gain traction as a settlement.

• With the discovery of Antarctica, many explorers come flooding south. This results in the discovery of several islands in the South Sea, such as Alexander Island, and Peter I Island.

Americas

• President-elect, James Monroe, is sworn into office for his second term as president in Washington D.C.
• Russia proclaims its ownership of the entirety of Alaska at the Ukase of 1821.
• Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica gain independence from Spain by the Act of Independence of Central America. Mexico proposes that it should merge with itself.
• The first Mexican Empire is established as the Army of the Three Gurantees enters Mexico City.
• Panama decleares independence from Spain, joining the Republic of Gran Colombia. In addition to this, the Dominican Republic declares independence from Spain, sealing the coffin in hopes of a reunified Spanish America.

Europe

• The Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland begins to erupt.
• The Congress of Vienna seems to be undoing itself as Serb rebellions against Ottoman domination in previous years prompt other groups all across the Balkans to also revolt against the Turks. Places such as Macedonia, Crete, and Cyprus rise up in rebellion as well. The Ottomans blame the Patriarch of Constantinople for these rebellions, although he denounced them earlier, and hang the poor man and by September, the Turks have lost control of the Peloponnesian Peninsula. The Greek Revolutionary War has been started.

Asia

• Russian expansion into Siberia enters a booming phase, as the Tsar incentivizes more settlement.

Africa

• Napoleon, the man who single-handedly destroyed the Holy Roman Empire and had almost all of Europe under his control two decades ago, dies in exile on Saint Helena of stomach cancer.
• King Badi VII of Sennar surrenders his throne and realm to Ismail Pasha, general of the Ottoman Empire, ending the existence of that Sudanese kingdom, and extending Ottoman influence further into Africa.

Americas

• Russia's Alaska colony continue to expend.
• United States purchases Florida from Spain, marking it the US state.
• Peruvian and Ecuadorian revolutionists continue pushing into Spanish-controlled Viceroyalty of Peru.

Europe

• Nearly 70% of entire Greek population joined the uprising against the Ottomans in Greek Revolutionary War and with British aid, Greek revolutionists successfully took control of Core Greece, proclaiming the First Hellenic Republic.
• As Ottoman Empire has been weaken slowly due to revolutions, Romanians saw a chance of gaining complete freedom. After Moldavia-Wallachia unionist campaign came into dominance and accepted by eight countries, an agreement was signed. It resulting simply unify two thrones, Moldavia and Wallachia went into a single personal union and the United Principalities was formed.

Asia

• Oman colonizes the remaining uncolonized lands in southern Arabia.

Africa

• Prussia establishes its first German-speaking colony starting in Namibia.

• The world does not suffer or gain from anything marvelous or wondrous. A fairly normal year.

Americas

• It a shocking move after the purchase of Florida, James Monroe enacts and references the Monroe Doctrine in his state of the Union Address. The doctrine stating that the western hemisphere should rule and deal with the western hemisphere.
• With the push for the Monroe Doctrine, relations between the US and Mexican government improve. With the Mexican government and people thankful for the US support during their revolution.
• Meanwhile the European nations simply choose to ignore the US and Mexico's improving relations, and continue expanding. The US in return calls for US citizens to expand westward to the Pacific Ocean to beat the British.
• In South America the revolutionary forces continue to grow and increase against their European rulers, especially the Brazilians.

Europe

• Prussia annexes two small German kingdoms rather quickly, and fast enough to avoid war with other European nations.
• The Ottoman Empire calls for peace talks with British and Greek politicians as to avoid further war and further losses in the revolution.
• Leopold continues his talk with Belgians in the Netherlands, his plans growing larger and faster...

Asia

• The Arab-Egyptian war ends with an Egyptian victory and the annexation of Arabic lands, much to the irritation of the Ottomans.
• Persia and Oman fight a short war, with Oman losing its lands in Persia.
• Russia continues its expansion into Siberia.
• Japan fully integrates the island of Hokkaido into the Shogun's hands.

Africa

• The European nations continue their colonization of the African continent.
• Ethiopian annexes the smaller nation north of it while Egypt is busy with peace talks with Arabia.

Oceania

• Not much besides colonization.

• The Chumash Revolt of 1824 begins in Hispanic California started by Native Americans against the western settlers. This began the largest native American resistance to Hispanic settlement of the region ever.
• Simón Bolívar is proclaimed dictator of Peru.
• The United States War Department creates the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
• The First American Fraternity, Chi Phi (ΧΦ), is founded at Princeton University; an event which will live in infamy for university students across America for centuries.

Europe

• The Anglo-Dutch Treaty of 1824 is signed.
• In the worst flood to date in Saint Petersburg, water rises 421 cm above normal and 200 lose their lives.
• The Egyptians capture Crete, cutting it off from the Greek Revolution. However, the Revolution carries on in mainland Greece, within the Balkans.

Africa

• The imperialist British governor, Sir Charles MacCarthy, is brutally killed by Ashanti rebels, starting the British-Ashanti Wars in West Africa, slowing British expansion in the region, while warning other European nations such as the French, to keep an eye on her colonies.

Oceania

• The Bathurst War in Australia occurs with British victory, once again allowing British expansion of their colonies.

• Hans Christian Ørsted reduces aluminum chloride to produce metallic aluminum.
• London becomes the largest city in the world, taking the lead from Beijing.

Americas

• Andrew Jackson becomes sixth president of the United States of America after soundly defeating John Quincy Adams and other members of the Democratic-Republican party.
• The Erie canal opens, providing passage from Albany, New York to Buffalo and Lake Erie.
• The Spanish crown deems the New World and its colonies in South America a total loss and grants the nations of the region complete independence, and leaves them to their own devices.
• Brazilian revolutionaries continue to grow in strength in the country, growing to be more than a simple annoyance to the Portuguese.
• Mexican, Russian, British, and American pioneers continue moving out west and expanding outwards.
• The close relations between Americans and Mexicans draws American settlers to claim land and form small towns in the region of Tejas.

Europe

• A new Combination Act in the United Kingdom makes trade unions legal according to narrowly defined principles.
• Artisans and skilled mechanics receive a right to leave the United Kingdom.
• Leopold I declares war on the Netherlands to claim the lands rightfully belonging to the Belgian people.
• King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies is succeeded by his son Francis I of the Two Sicilies.
• A peace treaty is signed between forces in the Greek War for Independence. Greece becomes a completely independent nation from the Ottoman Empire. The treaty calls for the Egyptians to leave Crete and free them of Egyptian occupation, but they are surprisingly slow at leaving the island.

Africa

• European nations continue to grow their colonies in Africa.
• The Spanish Crown begins making plans for an invasion on the nation of Morocco.

Asia

• The Dutch annex another Indonesian kingdom under their thumb

• Colonization continues.

1826 ~ Deutschland Ost

World Events

• Beethoven composes Große Fuge.
• The HMS Beagle departs on its first journey to survey Patagonia.

Americas

• Former American Presidents Thomas Jefferson and John Adams pass away within hours of one another.
• American president Andrew Jackson establishes the Indian Territory, an area to which thousands of Native American will be forcefully moved over the course of the next fifty years.
• The American government issues an official order stating that migrants moving to the Tejas region in Mexico must cease their movement, as pro-American riots are becoming extremely common in the area. This leads to the settling of the Arkansas and Northwest territories, and the Union admission of two new states; Arkansas and Michigan.
• Pedro I "The Liberator" forces his way into a seat of leadership in Brazil, exiling or executing most remaining soldiers from or supporters of Portugal. This leaves Portugal no choice but to recognize the independence of the Kingdom of Brazil.

Europe

• The Egyptians finally leave the island of Crete, transferring it into Greek control.
• Minor land transfers occur between Austria and Piedmont Sardinia, granting the Italian state a small amount of the land gained by Austria after the Congress of Vienna and for the time appeasing Italian demands as more and more wish for a unified peninsula.

Africa

• The Prussian colony of Namibia experiences a minor surge in growth and population.
• The French invade Algeria and place claims on Tunisia as colonial tension with rivals such as Great Britain and the Netherlands intensify.
• Spain executes its prior plans, invading Morocco.
• Colonization of the Cape Colony continues.

Asia

• The Spanish annex the Tribal Kingdom of Sulu in Borneo, as well as the remaining unclaimed lands in the Philippines.
• The Dutch continue previously stagnant expansion in the East Indies, establishing a claim in New Guinea.
• Russia continues Siberian colonization and begins to settle the Kazakh region.

Oceania

• Colonization continues.

Americas

• American settlers continue to move into the Tejas region. The American and Mexican government are able to come to an understanding of the areas in which American settlers to set residence in.
• American settlers are the first to begin settling in the Pacific Northwest, before both the Russians and British Empire.
• The countries of Chile and Argentina affirms official borders between them in the Rio de la Plata region of South America.
• Gran Colombia begins making claims on Dutch Guyana, claiming the Monroe Doctrine on the lowland countries holding of the region.

• Colonization in North America. With the Pacific Northwest under mostly American control, however there has been a strong influx of Russian and British settlers into the region, causing a few problem between settlers in the region.
• South America remains relatively peaceful.

Europe

• Saxony-Belgium under the rule of "The Liberator" Leopold I, cuts ties with the Holy Roman Empire and annuls all commitments and throws out all laws made by the HRE.
• Prussia continues to slowly grow in size.
• The British Empire springs into action due to the Ottoman invasion of Greece and begins committing soldiers to fight the Ottomans, and immediately begins pushing them back to the original borders.

Asia

• With Ottoman forces committed on many fronts, the Ottomans quickly find themselves being pushed back on all fronts. With the Arabians, Persians, and Russians pushing far into Ottoman lands.
• Meanwhile Arabia finds its western lands almost under complete Egyptian control.

Africa

• The Portuguese make the Zulu a vassal state, seeing as how fully annexing them would cause more problems.
• After a short year the French are able to capture nearly the entire island of Madagascar with the north completely under their control.

• The US gains a quick rush on colonization of Pacific Northwest.
• Martin Van Buren defeats William Henry Harrison and became the new president in United States presidential election, 1836.
• In March 1836, the Republic of Texas declares independence from Mexico. In response on unfair independence declaration, Mexico declares war on Texas and Texas Revolution was stated. The Mexican goal was to take Texas back, but ended in a catastrophe. The small Texan troops were so brave and powerful that huge Mexican army can't withstand to defend. It ends in November when Mexico recognizes Texas as an independent state. Sam Houston is elected as the first president of the Republic of Texas.

Europe

• Charles Darwin returns to England aboard HMS Beagle on October 2 with biological data he will later use to develop his theory of evolution, having left South America on August 17.
• The glory and richer Ottoman Empire, which stands its height for 400 years, begins to fall caused by losing war. Britain occupies Albania and continues attacking into Macedonia. Austria joins on Russian side and invades Bosnia, which is mix of Croatian and Serbian cultures. High uprisings begin as Serbians and Bulgarians revolt against Ottoman rule and Romania takes turn to gain Central Dobruja. The downfall of the Ottomans begin.
• Due to bankruptcy and crises, Duchy of Parma joined the Kingdom of Sardinia for economy recovery, but the House of Bourbon-Parma continues to claim the title Duke of Parma.
• Swedish troops occupies the entire island of Sjælland and the Danish capital city, but also include Bornholm, Shetland Islands and Faroe Islands.

• Russian, Arabian and Persian troops all continue to push into falling Ottoman Empire in Middle East.

• At the end of the Ottoman Wars, the nation of Austria is granted lands from the decaying Empire, Bulgaria is granted independence from the Empire, Romania is allowed to annex controlled lands, and Albania is granted freedom with independence guaranteed by the British.

• In the Middle East, Egypt is allowed to take Arabic lands and take Arabic colonies in Africa. Meanwhile Persia and Russia take large chunks of land from the Ottomans during the peace deals.

• France invades Mexico over a heredity-of-monarchy disagreement, prompting the United States to invoke the Monroe Doctrine and declare war on France. The French Caribbean and Guiana are invaded and occupied, and Brazil joins on the side of the U.S. and Mexico two months after the conflict begins.
• More south American borders are organized, with Argentina being forced to cede large amounts of land in the North to Peru.

Europe

• More land is ceded from Austria to the Italian states.

• Britain's plan to colonize entire OTL British Columbia fails, as US fully colonized the Pacific Northwest and Russia took the western coast of British Columbia. Now the Americans begun to colonize into OTL British Columbia north of Pacific Northwest.
• France retreat it's troops from Mexico, as United States invaded all French colonies in Americas and Mexico with Brazilian and US help defeated the invading French troops out of mainland.

Europe

• The last lands to be ceded from Austria to the Italian states are OTL Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
• With land-cedings finally ended for 13 years, Italian people saw their chance to unite the peninsula. Giuseppe Garibaldi, a well-known Italian nationalist, wrote ideas about Italian Risorgimento in a book, which became one of bestsellers in Italy and inspired Italian rulers about this. Soon, the treaty of Turin was signed between the leading power Kingdom of Sardinia and the small Italian duchies that are heavily under Sardinian influence. As result, small Italian duchies joined together with Sardinia to form the Kingdom of Italy, with Charles Albert of Savoy proclaimed as King of Italy and Garibaldi became a national hero in Italy.
• After several Danish failures to retake Sjælland, Denmark surrenders and is merged with Sweden to form the Scandinavian Union.
