if the germans won the first world war, what would happen?
lets say that the Schleiffen plan is successful, the French lose the battle of the Marne and the war is over by the end of 1914
yes, ive read Central Victory and i think its brilliant, but i do disagree with some of the points made, mot importantly about the nature of a postwar german state, i dont think hitler would have rose to the top, Hugenberg, Papen and Goerdler would probably have ruled germany in the 1930's, with von Schleicher as military strongman with the backing of the kaiser
i also wonder what might have happened to france, the UK and the US - the third republic would probably have collapsed, more unrest in britain, and an even more isolationist america
what are your thoughts?
