Brazil (Portuguese: Brasil) officially known as the Brazilian Republic of Santa Cruz (Portuguese: República Brasileira de Santa Cruz), and rarely called Santa Cruz is a nation in South America. It borders Feodorgrad, Nassauland, Bolivia, France, Guyana, Klein-Venedig, Dauphose, Argentina and [TBD Other nations]. Brazil is among the world's most multicultural and ethnically diverse nations, due to over 2 centuries of mass immigration from around the world.
Etymology[]
Brazil comes from Brazilwood, a threatened species of tree, In Portuguese, brazilwood is called pau-brasil, brasil commonly given the etymology "red like an ember" formed from brasa ('ember') and the suffix -il (from -iculum or -ilium). It has alternatively been suggested that this is a folk etymology for a word for the plant related to an Arabic or Asian word for a red plant.
