Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), formerly the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party (PMDB), is a major Brazilian political party in the center. It was appointed as the largest center party in Brazil and the largest non-PSDB and PT party in Brazil. His electoral number is 15. The Party has more than 16 million members, being the second largest party in Brazil, surpassed by the PSDB with 18 million.
Founded in 1980, it has a centrist political orientation. He is the successor of the Brazilian Democratic Movement, a party opposed to the Brazilian Military Dictatorship. Eduardo Cunha, who took office on October 6, 2018, is currently chaired. In a national convention in 2017, he was renamed to the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), and had his nomination approved by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) the following year.
