Alternative History

The British Imperial Commonwealth (Mostly just referred to as 'The Commonwealth') is an intergovernmental association of 22 sovereign nations and various territories that were once apart of the former British Empire. Formed in 1949 with the London Declaration, establishing that the various dominions as 'far and equal', this document laid the ground work for the Commonwealth as we see it today. King George VI was the first head of the Commonwealth until his death in 1952. Queen Elizabeth II is the current head of the Commonwealth, with former Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard being the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
