Bukhara, officially the Khanate of Bukhara, is a Sovereign nation in Central Asia. Bukhara is sandwiched between Persia, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.
History[]
The Emirate of Bukhara was founded when the Russian Empire conquered the region. The Bukharan Emir accepted the region being a Protectorate. From the date the Russian Empire conquered Bukhara to 1920, the land was ruled by Russia.
However, when the Russian Civil War broke out, a group of Bukharan Communists deposed the Emir and established the Bukharan Soviet Socialist Republic. However, when the tide turned i favor for the White Army, the Bukharans broke away from the proposed USSR, and declared the independent Bukharan Socialist Republic. I the end, Bukhara became the only nation with a Communist system throughout the Cold War.
Throughout the Cold War, Bukhara sided with the Second World, along with East India. However, Bukhara tried to remain a more diplomatic aggressor than a Military aggressor. Bukhara also did not attack Persia like East Persia commanded, which cut off diplomatic relations for a year.
In 1975, Bukhara was annexed by Persia after the defeat of Communism. The rising Persian power over Central Asia worried Russia, who demanded Bukharan independence as a Russian-modeled Republic, a Dictatorship. Persia refused, but they released Bukhara and reinstated the Monarchy. However, the official title of the Nation changed from Emirate to Khanate.
Bukhara developed friendly relations with the First World, especially Persia. Bukhara remains a close ally to Persia up until today.
